Btw NCT is 23 members group and many of them are foreigner by nationality : from canada, chicago, thailand, japanese, china, taiwan, even tho by blood they’re technically asian. But still it makes them very rich in background and influence. They usually promotes in their own home unit : NCT 127 / NCT Dream / WayV. But for this special project NCT 2020 : Resonance, all 23 of them promotes together under NCT U (NCT United), it basically means they took members from respective home units, mix and match the ones who suit a song the most, that’s why in all NCT U’s song, we have different lineup and that’s super refreshing and full of surprise ^^ They are in fact known as one of the best dance group in the industry, but also have a super strong vocal line (it’s SM thing), and powerful rapper too. NCT is buncha talents packed into one group. And their music is always different and unique, that’s like their trademark as Neo Culture Technology (NCT). I think they were made to feel relaxed and sometimes in their dances some members control the others so their not all the same, but NCT are definitely some of the top dancers and Ten is even considered one of the best in Kpop.
I watched an interview with the writers who said they were aiming for the new jack swing vibe like Poison so yes it was heavily influenced by that particular song/style. They’re capable of tight choreography but went for a more relaxed style for this...

WayV, Turn Back Time is a must-see. WayV is the Chinese promoting subunit of NCT and my favorite of them all. :)
