I work a place and we make plastic and ally tanks mainly. But the plastic tanks are made in moulds and go through industrial ovens etc. so I’d imagine it’d be easier to make an ally or stainless tank at home in your garage
This lap weld is in 1.5mm stainless. 1 side is raw edge fusing to a folded egde. There is penatration into the material but no sugaring on the back side. Practice makes perfect. 👌

How's the backside of those welds? I can't weld stainless that thin without back purge and not get sugaring everywhere inside.

hi mate, did you just use filler on open corner and just fuse on the lap joint ?
Hey @daveyjohns. the whole tank is fused and the fitting use filler.
Did you purge the tank with Argon for the full welds, or do you find you don't need to? Thanks

No. Didn't need to purge tank. Just had lots of pre and post gas flow. 👌
