Taylor Schilling was such a good casting choice to play Piper. Jenji, the creator of the series, actually wanted Katie Holmes to play Piper. First off, Piper in real life is and was blonde. Secondly, I don't think Katie would be able to pull the role off. Thank God, katie, declined the role.

Women go to prison for the same reason men go to prison; for committing crimes. Women receive much more lenient prison sentences than men do. I am sick and tired of hearing how rough women have it in prison. If you don't commit crimes, you don't go to prison; it's that simple.
