World Enough and Time and The Doctor Falls are beautiful. Peter almost makes me tear up when I watch him, Bill's story is tragic and horrifying, and bringing back the Mondasian Cybermen was an amazing idea. Peak Doctor Who in all areas.
They didn't bring back the original Cybermen. They showed the same new ones, just in the old wrapper. These are still the same brainless tin soldiers obsessed with forced conversion. Yes, they brought back the original design, but they completely missed the essence of the Mondassian Cybermen. Their story in both episodes took 10-12 minutes, the rest of the time was taken up by the Doctor-Master drama.
I think the cybermen deserve a hard reset. We need to see the horror not just of being converted, but of the decision being made. We need to see a society pushed to the brink, to the point of mass conversions. A filmography of spare parts, or a similar story on another world, would do so much justice to this enemy.
I cried several times, I laughed, I was edge of my seat, I was tense, claustrophobic, I felt betrayed, I felt United, I was rooting for them, I was disturbed, intrigued, very much excited , inspired and I felt seen ....this two parter is peak doctor who series 10 I'd show to anyone but this ...this was epic and iconic most ambitious finale ...incredible stuff 7 years later I'm just in awe Moffat nailed this incredibly so ...usually writers fade away by end of a run but this was peak doctor who
Man, you definitely need to watch Dr. Who webcast "Real time" This is possibly one of the best Cybermen stories of all time and definitely the scariest in terms of body horror conversion
In Dr Who for me the Cybermen are the best ever returning villains IMO better than, the Daleks and also they look like humans whereas the Daleks do not have a human appearance.
imo david tennant and peter capaldi's doctors are the two most important doctors as far as his characterization goes. we get to see the most human doctor and the most godlike doctor. the man who doesnt want to go, and the lonely god
The thing is that having the Master turning good might make him into an even better villain. Imagine the Master's ruthless drive for universal conquest being out of entirely altruistic motives. He might see the universe as being better off under his rule. A Master who can justify his cruelty as being in service to a greater goal would be quite chilling.
To make the two parts, Cybermen story so great is to add other classic Cybermen from 1967 to 1988 with David Banks as the Cyber Leader and Mark Hardy as the Cyber Lieutenant once again.🤩
I wish that the original Mondasian Colony ship Cybermen were the amazing concept design by Christopher Goodman because they're different from Mondasian Cybermen.
I had a full on dream about the daleks once and i was absolutly terefied and had a full dream about the cyberiad-cybermen and was shookend to mah soul so yah
This is basically the only Capaldi-era story I enjoyed. I enjoyed Moffat as a show runner for the first two seasons, but I rarely enjoyed it after that.
WORLD ENOUGH AND TIME Is brilliant, and the big revelation at the end is nightmare fuel. But, as usual with Moffat's run, THE DOCTOR FALLS fails to stick the landing and ruins everything that came before.
every week "you do know im gay right bruv" and "i aint racist, im black" She was just a 1 dimensional character. Telling us her character instead of showing us. Compare her to Rose. Rose was selfish at the start and a bit socially awkward. By the end of Season 1, she was using what she learned to use the Tardis, to bluff with Jack, stand her ground with the Dalek's. What did Bill do? Run off with the lesbian alien that was trying to kidnap her in the first episode, in the finale. Thats not "racist" or "because she is not white" She is just a dull character.

BBC put fabric back onto Cybernen faces.
The Cybermen's first Tennant arc and last Capaldi arc are definitely their strongest in my opinion
I love when they occasionally remember they're allowed to be disturbing and genuine

The mondasian cybermen goes so hard im actually angry it’s not used more the voice is fantastic too

What made Bills story even worse, she was the First Cyberman.
This Review sums up Why The Cyberman Scary, and Why the DW VIllain got Ruined!
You're Underrated!
Rise of the cybermen and age of steel are still scary.
Doomsday should have had the dead being resurrected as they were before they died.

Peter Capaldi’s tenure as the Doctor in my opinion was the BEST, LAST of the Time Lord
Agreed
0:52 I don't think those really count as "Cybermen," really. More like Cyberpuppets.
In Dr Who for me the Cybermen are the best ever returning villains IMO better than, the Daleks and also they look like humans whereas the Daleks do not have a human appearance.
Love this video essay

this is the best 2 parter
John simm best master 😊
I don't know. Missy made a very strong case for herself.

The last season of dr who I enjoyed.

Absolutely agree. Doctor Who's best villians are the ones rooted in horror I feel.

They look so shitty though
They look scary
I don't know, I didn't think they were scary. Honestly, I was happy Bill was turned into one. serves that companion right for being crap
Why was she crap?
she literally did nothing to deserve what happened to her
whats up with ur aggression towards her?
@@Mx.Monkey maybe cus she was lesbian or not white - is my guess

I liked her. She was funny and really went well with the Doctor's crazy grandpa vibe. She didn't deserve what happened to her.
