Earth Defense Force is the most fun I’ve ever had co-op!!! EDF 6 Will be out by end of July, these games do improve between but are functionally very similar though so if EDF 5 is on sale , it’s incredibly worth it
Wow, I thought I was fairly familiar with indie genre games, but this video proved me so wrong! There are so many hidden gems I haven’t heard of that are now on my radar, thank you!
Starting with Grim Dawn; Oh yeah, this man has TASTE.
The permanent fusion in Heat Death is unique. Magic: The Gathering and Animation Throwdown let you do combos, but they only last for the duration of the round against a given opponent. Although Animation Throwdown does let you level up redundant cards by powering them up and fusing them.
great recommendations,anode heart,tangle tower and cassette beasts are my favorites.
This is legit better than big game showcases because it's tailored and I know and trust the one making the list.

Grim Dawn is a must buy for any ARPG fan.
Symphony of the night had deeper itemization, since most items were unique.
Bloodstained has a few of it's own features, but I feel like it's ~80% of SotN (or NDS equivalent) in terms of depth.
Thank you for suggesting Grimdawn... I have been playing it on and off just to satisfy my itch for an ARPG.. We have the same problem where I only get up to level 50 as I create a new character again and again
Bought Hardspace: Shipbreaker during the lockdown idiocy. Currently have a character who's $5B in the black. Absolutely one of my favorite time wasters.
Battle Chef Brigade is clearly an homage to the anime Food Wars. If you haven't seen it, watch it, and you'll see.
Highly recommend Phoenotopia: Awakening. Many games on this list are similar and it's an amazing game on sale for like $7. Metroidvania/Zelda 2-like game.

Megaman battle network collection pt1 and pt2 was the best purchase i ever made from this. Nostalgia
Other two games I'd suggest are Balatro and Spell Disk.
Since you play a lot of idlers, I highly recommend Stuck in Time. It's 60% off right now.
It's one of those games that stuck in my head and I wish the developer would make more of it.
Monster Sanctuary and Ring of Pain were games listed that I can recommend if you enjoy turn based gameplay and a variety of builds. I also wanna suggest Blasphemous for those that enjoys Metroidvanias as I got 30 hours off of it and there is a new game plus that I did not do.

Two recommendations i'd like to add are Celeste and Heat Signature.
Celeste is a really fun platform with a story about anxiety and never giving up.
Heat Signature is an action roguelike with a very creative sandbox of weapons and tools. You go on missions to board spaceships to complete objectives such as stealing, assassinating a target, or hijacking the whole ship.
Battle Chef Brigade is soo charming. I didn’t play the online material since I didn’t have Switch online- but nonetheless the campaign is quite fun
Highly recommend Tangle Tower! A sequel is also in the works!
Loop Hero really just disappeared, didn’t it? It was so popular for a little while and then I heard nothing about it anymore.

I'm looking each game as the video goes and I own Citizen Sleeper but didn't know it. Must have gotten it from a Humble Bundle or something and overlooked it.
I own most of these. and One I would ask you to give a try is Rhapsody. a musical adventure. :)

If you like oldschool sidescroller space shooters you guys should check out Jets n Guns 1+2.

There's "Princess: the Hopeful", a spin off of White Wolf games. I keep wanting to make a campaign with it, but I need someone to bounce off. I have a 'First Episode'... but I can't come up with a second.
Against the Storm is having an expansion soon. I have put a stupid amount of time into that game.
Oh, that reminds me, I am missing a barony DLC.
Personal suggestion of mine,Try frostpunk! It’s 3 dollars right now and the game is criminally good for how cheap you’d be getting it

Get Monster Sanctuary
The endless dungeon team hates the endless series, that games not actually an endless game functionally, also theres literally no content compared to the others, so little that the game literally died 3 weeks after it dropped.
Wonder what happened to the Loop Hero devs. The game came out, caught a lot of attention and felt like it was ready-made for a few extra (paid) content drops but shortly after the invasion of Ukraine the devs, who are Russian, tweeted out something to the effect of "We are against all wars." and then went completely silent. Hope they didn't get drafted, or arrested or anything like that.
Unfortunately the team behind Aegis Defenders disbanded immediately following release. They were young devs and wanted to go their own ways. It is good, however, I second the recommendation.
Ah darn. At least they'll be bringing their skills to other cool games & media. Hopefully.

For my money, Grim Dawn is the ultimate ARPG. It is, without shadow of a doubt, the greatest ARPG of all time, there's an insane amount of content (builds), a decent narrative and an incredibly satisfying core loop/gear upgrade/crafting system. I cannot wait for the new expansion.
