The step sheet says to do a right shuffle to right side and you did a forward shuffle. Was there a reason for the change? I want to teach it correctly.
Hi Jean...I just re-watched my video and you are right. The sheet does say shuffle to the right and I am shuffling forward. I did note that several times during the video I commented that I was going to teach it "as choreographed" because I know that so many places have morphed this dance with a multitude of variations. This happens a lot with the older, classic dances. That being said, I think what happened is that while my plan was to stick to the choreography, at the end I reverted to the way this dance is actually done in our area. I tried not to do that but it looks like I did and I didn't catch it. If you feel that this is a new dance to your community, I would say teach it according to the step sheet and then you'll be safe. The final shuffle is a small move as the dance is fast and whether it goes forward or to the right, in reality, doesn't really mess up the integrity of the dance. Good catch....and sorry for my boo boo!!! If you have any more questions, feed free to email me at dancingwithpatti@yahoo.com
dancingwithpatti Thank you so much for responding. I teach at 2 Senior Centers and just want to be sure that I do it correctly. I will shuffle to the side as written.
Thank you! That's the way to teach a dance - you're a terrific teacher!
WHERE did you get the song by Kimber Clayton? I'm trying to find it for my line dance instructor, but I cannot find it anywhere. TY
@@paulakelly858 I’m so sorry but I just can’t remember! I get all my music from iTunes…but maybe someone sent me that version. Sorry.
Very good lesson, thank you
