Bossa Nova is the mix of the Brazilian Samba and the American Jazz, (both afro-american), and this music movement surged in the end of the 50's and the beggining of the 60''s in Brazil, some years later it was substituted by the the Tropicália, a revolutionary music movement who discretly criticated the military dictatorship that existed in Brazil. I've loved the video❤
I may be incorrect but I don't think Brazilian Samba has Afro-American roots, since it originates from Afro-Brazilians in Brazil. In addition, the distinct Bossa sound that we know today, while building off Samba origins, was brought to fruition by neither Afro-Americans nor Afro-Brazilians, but rather Portuguese and Indigenous composers.

This makes me want to open my little cafe just so I can play this. And the rain outside right now is making me feel tooooo relaxed. All I need now is my black coffee.
The second song in this playlist called "Autumn Leaves" fondly reminds me of my late grandfather. When I was a kid I would hear him sing this song all the time whether he would be cooking, cleaning, watching tv, etc. Every time i heard him sing it, he would be in a really good mood. But then one day my grandmother passed away suddenly from cancer....and from that day forward he would continue to sing the same ol' song but in a more somber tone, and the lyrics became much heavier for us all ever since. "Since you went away, the days grow long. And soon I'll hear old winter song but I miss you most of all, my darling when Autumn Leaves start to fall..." Grandpa eventually went on to join my grandma exactly one year after her passing. I'm sure now he is serenading her in the stars. It's been 20 years since they left this planet. Dear mama & papa if you can see this, I hope you know that I've become a decent jazz pianist and played along to this track in your memory. I miss you and love you both so much, always and forever. I love this so much. I keep returning to it. I just want to sit at that table. I have been cleaning my home and painting it getting ready to sell the home. And I have been playing this on my TV while I'm doing things around the home. I Take breaks and sit down and it helps me to chill as it is a stressful time for me. I am considering playing this on low volume like in the background for when the home gets shown to potential buyers. We live not far from the beach, like twenty minutes away so I think it'll create a real nice vibe in the home. What do you all think? Play it or not?
