Min 18 "Torching the dragon eyes"...just had to laugh at the humorous remark...!! I was so tensed up, attentive to your every move and instruction, trying to memory retain each second. You are a wonderful and careful instructor and a fantastic Master...!! Thank You for this great inspiration which I'll do my best to instill in my grandchildren. Long Live the Grand Master Evil Ted Smith...!! It is an honor and good fortune to encounter you ...I'm very grateful and I'll be ordering on Amazon your products recommended. Again....Muchas Gracias Maestro....!!
We ( kids & I ) simple adore your videos Ted! Every year we seem to start earlier and earlier building increasingly complex costumes for our local Con. Thank you for your wonderful videos & guidance!
Thank you so much for making this tutorial and having a pattern online to buy! I've always wanted to try to create my own Inquisitor helmet and now I can!
I love your videos, Ted. Informative and inspiring. When I went through Punished Props' entire back catalog, I didn't think I'd find someone else operating at that level. Glad you're around. One slight bit of constructive criticism, though: slow down your speech just a tad. Enunciate. I get the gist of most of what you're saying, enough to follow along, but it can be a little tough sometimes. I look forward to going back through your entire video history, as well. Keep up the awesome work.
Hi ted i really love your work. I found you on youtube and i have learned a lot. but i didn't see any videos on how you did the hand on your cyber arm and i was wondering if you were ever going to do one or could point me in the right direction. because for a long time i have wanted to do something like the Gauntlet and hand from Dragon age 2.
got the template, made the helmet. alot easier than i thought! Awesome tutorial! Any tips on how to make slightly bigger? where should i add on the template?
I'm going to be buying this pattern from you as soon as I can afford to throw the $5 your way (yeah, money is kind of tight lol), and I can't wait to make this!
Awesome as usual. Do I heat seal all the armor pieces before I glue them together, or after it is glued together? If I heat seal before glueing, my edges round and are not sharp. Is this ok?
You say you prefer latex. Do you know if it's possible to spray on latex effectively with a spray bottle for those of us who don't have compressors and air guns?
Hey Ted love the videos, I know you can't build every request but Im curious about something. I want to build Armored Batsuit for a con, the foam would be perfect obviously but how would you do the ears? an add on piece shaped and glued down, or as part of a one piece pattern?
I have a question about the critter gun. Very tempted to pick one up. I have a compressor I use with my airbrushes nothing special, it seems to hold steady around 45 constant pressure when in use and builds back to 60 before auto turning off. Would this be strong enough to run the critter gun? In one of your videos you mentioned you liked it at about 35 psi, which leads me to believe that it would, but when i speak to people in the stores around town they say I need a constant pressure of at least 60. Am I just falling prey to people attempting to upsell me on the bigger model? Also I'm canadian any suggestions on a different model of the same capabilities? That would allow me to avoid duty and shipping?
I just downloaded the pattern and printed it out but I'm wondering how big this should be to be the size you created? If you can tell me the length of the side helmet straight edge then I can scale the rest of the pieces accordingly. Thanks.
Hi Evil Ted. This was an amazing series. I look forward to more! I saw you on the Geek & Sundry live stream last week and you guys were using some sort of squeeze bottle with Barge in it. is this a specific type of bottle or can I use an old plastic ketchup bottle? I'm afraid the barge would melt the plastic if It's not a certain type.
Yeah I was just wondering about durability. The yellow ones are so much more expensive than mastercraft. I work a lot with worbla so I use the heat gun a lot. The mastercrafts tend to last about 2 years.
+Evil Ted Smith I bought the patterns, and need to know what sizing of paper they use to print out :) Letter format, legal, a5, a4 etc? I'm guessing you used a US size?
hi ted im printing to scale but templates are way to small im in uk so im using a4 size paper tried 100% and 175% as thats how your instructions say help please im tootal noob to this
+Evil Ted Smith I see that you listed a new website link to get the foam. How does the foam quality and price compare to foam mart (the link/supplier from before? also have you tried getting cross linked polethtlene from foam from foambymail (the foam factory)or minicell foam from foam for you? Thanks!
+Evil Ted Smith I need help ! im making a predator suit ,but i know the bio helmet is going to be a pain in the neck.. Can you possibly do a video on it or perhaps make a template that does not require all the cuts that pepakura designer demands. thanks you for your time .. big fan of your work!
Can I ask you something Ted? I live in Denmark and we don't have barge cement here. Do you think I could just use contact glue? Great videos by the way. I hope to see more patterns in your store :D Maybe a witcher sword? I have been wondering if it's possible to make a long sword out of EVA foam.
+Tracy Laursen Hey Tracy, I live in Canada and Barge is hard to get here too. The usual hardware store contact cement will usually use multiple layers to compensate for being weaker. Just wait for it to dry as normal, and add another coat and wait a bit.
+TheDraec Hello! Here in Italy I couldn't find any type of contact cement. I found many contact glue but all of them says that they cannot be used with polyethylene and similar materials (EVA foam is such material); can I use them anyway?
I was with you and followed your very slow videos because you had decent technique now you are spamming sponsors and selling patterns. I am all for making a profit but you aren't as skilled as you pretend to be and now that you are spamming I have to unsubscribe.

You got the sponsorship! XD really nice Ted.
+KRaidou Yes, I hope to get more.
Awesome as usual. Do I heat seal all the armor pieces before I glue them together, or after it is glued together? If I heat seal before glueing, my edges round and are not sharp. Is this ok?
+Dave Mathias I heat seal them once I'm done gluing them together.
I just bought your pattern. You make it look so simple, I hope mine looks as nice! =) thank you!
Yes, you can do it.
also have to say I've been enraptured by my screen all day watching your videos since Geek and Sundry dropped your youtube on stream.
+Zathamiel Thanks for subscribing.
You say you prefer latex. Do you know if it's possible to spray on latex effectively with a spray bottle for those of us who don't have compressors and air guns?
+limbodog No, but you can brush rubber latex it on.
Hey Ted love the videos, I know you can't build every request but Im curious about something.

+66justariot Yes.
love this guy! im just stuck on my ancient madalorian dome part of the helmet
0:25 Was that a Guavian Death Gang suit from Star Wars 7?
Hi Ted, nice vid cheers. Made some sanding sticks :-) made a few different widths and a few rounds.
Nice. Happy to help.

+Zathamiel You can spray it at 25 to 30 PSI and it covers real;y well.
I just downloaded the pattern and printed it out but I'm wondering how big this should be to be the size you created? If you can tell me the length of the side helmet straight edge then I can scale the rest of the pieces accordingly. Thanks.
Ted I was wondering how long it will take to ship if I just ordered it

+jsonlee01 I used a Palmolive dishwashing bottle. That particular plastic holds up.
Great as always ! thanks for share this :D
ah darn I was hoping this was the red dwarf inquisitor .... if I can send u a pic could you give us some tips please ?
Mastercraft heatguns now stopped existing. What do you think of the Wagner
+SuspiciousTumbleweed Any heat gun will work.
Yeah I was just wondering about durability. The yellow ones are so much more expensive than mastercraft. I work a lot with worbla so I use the heat gun a lot. The mastercrafts tend to last about 2 years.
Sorry if I missed it but what size paper are the patterns for?
Will A4 work?
+Zhainius I don't understand your question. Try again, please.
+Evil Ted Smith I bought the patterns, and need to know what sizing of paper they use to print out :)
Letter format, legal, a5, a4 etc? I'm guessing you used a US size?
The PDF can be printed on a regular printer letter size paper.
Did part 2 come out before part 1?
what dagree did you put on the bottom of the wings
Not really sure, I just wing it.
great work as always ;)
+JayCosplay Props Thank you.
It says in the comment that your website is coming soon. How can I get the templates?
+Radioactive Leprechaun Go to eviltedsmith.com
If I was wanting to make a helmet that has a detachable face plate how would I go about making the face plate stay on without using straps and such?
+Gaming from Dusk til Dawn KamuiCOsplay is using strong magnets.
dont have barge cement in Canada... Only lepage and been struggling with it..... :/
Lapage works pretty good you might have to do more do two thin coats before applying.
@@EvilTedSmith ok thank you! Ill try
hi ted im printing to scale but templates are way to small im in uk so im using a4 size paper tried 100% and 175% as thats how your instructions say help please im tootal noob to this

+Joseph Valentin The new TNT Cosplay foam is great stuff. There prices are way better than Foam Mart.
+Evil Ted Smith thanks Ted just placed an order! hope all my armor will be ten times better.
Could you build a halo helmet? (Master Chief if possible)
+Tracy Laursen Yes, most contact cements, work well with foam.
+Evil Ted Smith Okay thanks! :D

I would at least do a test. I mite work.
Is the PDF in A4 size ?
Ted, make please skill helmet!
Five bucks is a deal. Do you take requests?
+James DeRuvo I do not (although I get hundreds of them anyway). I give you the techniques and it's up to you to take them to heart.
+Evil Ted Smith you should warn to wear a respirator when using barge and any others. love your channel. you kick ass
+tennismediadynamics I do most of the time, but just can't talk with the mask on when shooting.
