This video does a really good job showing how scary Luffy looks in his Gear 4 forms. Especially when you contrast it with how small he normally looks. Bounce man and Snake man are both terrifying in very different ways.
As much as this artist likes making these kind of creepy scenes for One Piece, I am utterly shocked he hasn't taken a shot at a scene of Luffy vs Magellan. Magellan and his poison techniques would be FIRE in this art style.

One thing I apreciate about these drawings is how they show the Shichibukai, Admirals, and high-caliber Pirates (especialy the post-TS ones) to be near unhumanly powerful opponents, the Strawhats included... yet the Yonko are damn near monstrous forces of nature in contrast, barreling down on whoever stands in their way with the power of a storm. It also shows why they are called Devil Fruits. It ain't a cute nickname by overly superstitious people, its a description of the power they hold.
Ummmm.....after seeing the Wano arc.....I think Akainu is far more scarier than these ..........he made happy Marineford look scary ..just by himself.....with the animation today....it would be much better
I never found the name particularly cute, nor superstitious, given the power they hold is terrifying and beyond the understanding of mortals alike, the sacrifice involved as well. But I'm in agreement with how well this is portrayed on this heart.
i agree, i think this is an interesting take on also what makes luffy vs katakuri so special. luffy has already succeeded for so long and we're getting to the point where he's experienced in taking territory, katakuri just wants to protect his family lol

You never think about how terrifying the world of One Piece actually would be, but Pak puts it into perfect perspective, even the main characters can be terrifying beasts of legend and horror. Just look at the gear 4 variants, or if Pak has any art of chopper's monster point, then there's even more to say that you don't want to be a normal shmuck in One Piece.
Exactly, it's utterly terrifying how Luffy looks in his Gear 5 forms. Cool to see it from their opponents' perspective, as if the Straw Hats were the seemingly insurmountable antagonist for once.
Which is one of reasons why fear the live action series netflix is doing because if they go with a realistic look and still have it come of as cartoony and exciting then it is going to be horrific.
i cannot express how much of a fucking masterpiece this is. Both the music and the art style blend so well, and it truly represents how goofy looking shounen jump characters could look, but how terrifying they would be in the reality we live in.
