Star destroyers generally had frigates and corvettes to screen for them while they stood launching massive volleys. Not to mention a battleships biggest disadvantage is long range missiles and fighter aircraft deflector shields would nullify that.

I love the military evolution of star wars (until the sequel trilogy) Before the clone wars planets had to defend themselves with fighters and small cruisers. They didnt have the resources to make and maintain capital ships. This ideology was used in the clone wars. The republic and CIS navy is based off this mindset. It used retrofitted civilian ships, consular, cr90, lukrehulk, munificent and created ships to support a fighter dominated warfare, venator and providence. The republic through the development and use of victory class and probably prototype ISDs found out heavier, stronger ships were more effective in a conventional war. So with the trasition into an empire, with this mindset, they built more and more ISDs. But to have hands on control of the galaxy ISDs were too expensive and resourse intensive. (Even the republic couldn't patrol the entire galaxy) That's were the tarkin doctrine comes in. Control the galaxy through fear. But the tarkin doctire military was ineffective against rebels who use hit and run tactics.
This evolution is amazing because you can see the military evolve. As the audience we can nitpick and see why this and that could've been done better, but within the lore, the military evolves using it's own history. The empire didnt know of the rebel threat when it created its military. It only had the clone wars to look to for guidance. A war that could've been prevented/won earlier if it had a heavier hand and stronger ships. Therefore the empire created the tarkin doctire and ISDs

Evolution of the DC15 seems similar to the relationship the M16 and M4 had. During the GWOT the US marines used M16a4 and troops in the back used the M4 and M4a1 carbine. Similar how in the first battle of Geonosis you can see clones in the back with the Carbine variant of the DC15. However later in both wars rifles slowly were replaced with there carbine variants.

    I have a question:
If the ARC-170 was used as the primary republican starfighter during the Clone Wars (both Legends and Canon, Battlefront II in both timelines confirms that), then, what does the Z-95 Headhunter starfighter in the conflict?.
Both were deployed during the Clone Wars, but the ARC-170 was more like a starfighter-bomber, meanwhile the Z-95 ws a light starfighter with more tendency to be an interceptor.
I guess the Republic just wanted to have a foot desperately in all camps to try to counter the CIS's massive naval droid armada?.
Also, I loved when you criticized the use of the DC-15A against the DC-15S (It doesn't matter for me if Canon wants to call they differently). That weapon seems very fine to be used as a light machine gun, NOT AS A PRIMARY ASSAULT RIFLE, SOMEWHAT HEAVY (4.4 kg) AND VERY LONG (1.3 meters). Just imagine trying to use this inside a building or other close quarter combat areas, as you mentioned.
For the life of the clones, God bless who realized how they needed a submachine gun / carbine aka DC-15S. If it was the contrary case, the death toll in each for the Republic in each battle would have been even more higher than what happened in both Legends and Canon.

As for the first minute of this video, you should see what happened to the USSR’s tank evolution. Their primary tank evolved from a lightweight tank (the BT series) with the capability of converting into a armored car using their wheels, into the T-34 which became by far the simplest tank industrially ever built, to the iconic design of the insanely effective T-54, of which deserves an evolution video of its own; modern versions of it can compete with third generation MBTs.

When playing the starwar conversion for ArmA I def prefer using the DC-15A on medium power. Most combat takes place in longer ranges. And yea it slows me down, harder to aim, adds more fatigue, and can’t fucking be used worth a fuck if you walked for more the 10 meters and tried to take a standing shot, but if your crouch and learn to use it, it can lay down some fucking HELL. The carbine is my choice for scouting and recon though. Keeps me light and quick reacting. But for heavy combat the full length is much better and more versatile. Also the high power option can destroy a spider droid (smol bois) in one shot from at least 500m

Hell during the bad batch echoes captured and turned into part droid and used for his tactics by the techno union. Clones were amazing tacticians. Tye jedi on the other hand weren't and got thousands of clones killed. That statement makes no sense since clones held most ranks until the end of the war and regular humans held commander roles like admiral and such.

One of the funny things about the Clone Wars series is how, early in the series, we see Clones try and fail to engage droids in melee combat. Because punching a metal robot *is* a pretty bad idea. Later in the series that seems to go out the window, so the droids either started being made out of tinfoil or the Clones were _seriously_ hitting the gym between missions.

Do you think Jango Fett knew about order 66? Asking because in AotC he says "they'll do their job well, I guarantee that." in an almost smug manner. I know it's fairly common knowledge that Jango was picked because of his capability to efficiently combat Jedi, but did he know that the army made based off of him would be used to decimate the order?

      @Faded-With-Time:
Nope [he didn't know]. If you play the [before Disney bought Lucasfilm and all of George Lucas's other properties (except his house)] videogame "Star Wars: Bounty Hunter" you'll see *exactly* how Jango Fett got picked to be the clone template (and how-exactly he got the Slave-1, while you're at it).

The Aethersprite And ETA-2 Actus Interceptor make me wonder why Darth Vader didn't utilize Kuat Systems Engineering for the construction of his personal Starfighter. Just imagine an A-Wing with no material limitations and customized by Vader himself.

    • @TheRezro

TIE is evolution of ETA-2. A-Wing was scraped by Empire and all research moved on scrapyard. It is from where Rebellion have it.

some of the things you said about the phase 1 armor does not make any sense:
8:03 - stopping kinetic rounds -- the Clones died every time they got hit, it was not stopping anything
8:06 - sealed ad pressurized - the clip that you used shows that was not true those clones were infected by the blue virus
phase 2 armor fixed this issues

Well the DC-15 Blaster Rifle(has the MG34 stock installed) is the equivalent to the M16 series assault rifles. Yet if I am a sniper from either branch of the US military, I would prefer the M82 Barrett anti-material rifles with suppressors attached and advance anti-glare sniper scopes to take out anyone from more than 1 km away without exposing my location that easily. 5:53
