just tested this on the Contarex bullseye: The mirror does not lock up when you use the self timer. But that is not really necessary anyway because the mirror does not slap up but is instead guided upwards in a controlled fashion by gears (its the only camera that does that). therefore you have a slightly longer delay but much less mirror slap.
@@GavinLyonsCreates Sadly not as much as I should. It was gifted to me and I have far too many cameras so I rarely use it. I only shot 2 films with it but the results were flawless. Another problem is that I only have the 50mm/2.8 lens and that is not my preferred focal length. But it is a very fascinating camera mechanically :D
Please, can you answer: Can I use any other lens, from any other camera with CONTAREX, or do I have to use only Contarex lenses? Maybe with some adapters? I have a Contarex body, but not have enough money for the original lens...Thank you!
@@Bokicazver I dont think that there are any adapters to adapt other lenses to the Contarex. people seem to be only interested in adapting Contarex lenses to other cameras. The Contarex also has a very long flange distance (46mm, comparable to Nikon F mount) so adapting to this mount is difficult
Sadly Still looking for someone to clean my contaflex. The guy who ran Zeiss Ikon Contax Camera Repair retired so Im heading to Chicago to someone who cleans vintage cameras.
@@GavinLyonsCreates Thanks. Yes, Chicago is taking an extra long time due to some part he had to send for. Been about two months. Maybe more. Hopefully before the new year.
And the Contaflex shutter sound is to die for!
I can't deny that!
Cool “hidden” features- Great image at 3:18!
Thanks David, glad you like the image.
Good glue!!! Thanks
Thanks Fernando
