The story behind this humppa-pumppa performance by Jim is that Status Quo bassist didn't want to play this kind of beatles-bay city rollers-scorpions-"Scheisse"-humppa and Jim replaced him in this TV show. Maybe it's not a hard rock like on Hello album was, maybe for some of fans it was a shit, but it was still Quo. Whatever they did it was still sounding like them. There wasn't even a miligram of plastic in it. That's why I loved them. 'Cos now it's nothing more but a tribute band.
