Definitely saw Kate doesn't have enough field training. But is willing to put her life on the line to stay in Hawaii close to Lucy. If, as we all hope, she and Lucy get back together like they should, Lucy will make sure is gets all the training Kate needs. Loved her beating the crap out of that women!! Those two have such great charisma together. The way they look and smile at each other..WOW!!
From this episode I just learned that Kate is less of a talker and she doesn't know how to argue her self out of a problem

Sure does she slightly need to work on communication skills yes (I feel that cause I have the same problem) but it’s just also who Kate is. It’s ok to be a strong silent type or whatever u wanna call it. She doesn’t need to change or be fixed she just needs to work a little on communication.

And of course there's a through line here to Lucy giving Kate combat training in season 2, and Kate does a lot better in her next fight :)
And that is why the Kate and Lucy thing is such endearing and a pleasant distraction.. when compared to the Ava Beatrice relationship in the recently cancelled Netflix series Warrior Nun.. because it doesn't stray from the main plot.. it adds spice to the inter dynamics of the gang of NCIS Hawaii.. it doesn't overshadow the what series really is..a procedural crime drama..

Someone needs to teach her better hand to hand combat skills.
I feel like she was at a desk job until now, she should NOT have a gun or be out in the field this soon after her transfer.
@@cynthia8014 She probably had the mandatory training for a few weeks or something like that before transferring tho. And I'm pretty sure whatever position in the FBI you will have your own government issued pistol. But I agree, her time has been mostly spent behind a desk. Bare minimum next to NO field experience

It was necessary so Kate could be in more episodes working with NCIS. I feel like they did it after seeing that a lot of people liked her relationship with Lucy.

I think whistler's doing this because she feels really bad when she did into Lucy
Minor detail, but Lucy quietly going _"Who's that?"_ at 3:04 is such a good little character/relationship quirk. Lucy immediately going on the defensive when an unfamiliar person approaches, checking in with Kate as privately as she can to make sure it won't cause any more harm than she's already been through.
There's obviously some larger unresolved stuff, but at this moment Lucy is frustrated with Whistler because she was _scared._ Lucy has tried to convince herself she can let them go all season- and then Kate runs headfirst into a situation that puts her in mortal peril. Lucy obviously would never wish to see Kate injured or hurt, but this interaction _("You could have been killed!")_ solidified that she still wanted _some_ sort of future between them, even if she isn't sure what that looks like.
The whole little conversation in the back of the ambulance is such a good microcosm of their relationship. I'm angry at you, I'm glad you're okay. I still care about you.

Oh, y cuando Kate estaba botada en el suelo ella insistía en que Lucy persiguiera a la loca mala, pero Lucy le dijo que no se movería de ahí, o sea que se quedaba con ella… mientras llamaba por respaldo y una ambulancia pa’ Kate~~
Al principio de la escena, que me lo salté en el comentario anterior… un agente dice que Lucy va de camino… y se supone que ellos van también de camino.
Comienzan a charlar sobre el caso cuando Kate llega al lugar. Se baja y está comentando sobre los disparos cuando oye disparos.
Lucy le pregunta qué onda… y Kate se mete al auto a sacar la pistola y les dice que escuchó disparos. Le dicen que tenga cuidado.
Se dirige a la casa y les avisa que está en la entrada del recinto.
Lucy le pregunta si puede ver algo y Kate se acerca a la puerta de entrada. Les dice que
John (?) fue asesinado de un disparo en la cabeza, que hay un loco más en la escena pero que no hay pistas de la loca mala.
Lucy le pregunta que donde está y ella le dice que afuera…
Lucy le dice que no entre y Kate sin escucharla dice que va a entrar. Entra y le sacan la cresta.

The end of this episode is the end of Kate and Lucy. Lucy tells Kate she loved her and that she (Kate) broke her heart into a million pieces. It is truly over and I am NOT happy about it.
