We have used penalties in the past and are now trying something different at the moment. We don't have a sent schedule, Just play it by ear when we are all free to get together. Thank you.

The main reason we stopped using penalties is that it was separating the group so much that it was causing boring races. Plus it was in the earlier days when we had more cautions. It might be possible to bring it back now that we're a bit better at staying on. :-)
Question: how do you set the fuel configuration? I still got problems that cars do seem to have different fuel setings in a race resulting in unequal fuel usage? Do you set the CU fuel usage off/on/real and what do you set in Smartrace? Smartrace is complaining that it can't set the fuel settings for cars 5 & 6. I'm using 2 wireless controllers (which are assigned id's 1 & 2) and 2 wired controllers which must be plugged to the CU on ports 3 & 4, but get id's 5 & 6 assigned. Keep them comming these races. It's really a showcase of how a race should be managed!
If you're running the latest version of SmartRace it should refuel all the cars just fine. Just before you start a new race SmartRace will ask you to confirm that the 5 lights are not on the CU and then it will fill all the tanks to 100%. As long as you press the ESC button and only have one light on the control unit. If all 5 lights are on the tanks will not refuel. You have to have the CU fuel set to Off and let SmartRace take care of it. About your controllers, I was able to run 2 wireless and 4 wired Carrera controllers so that 6 cars can race at the same time using the controller extension set. This is how I did it at first until I went with 6 wired RamJet. It's been a while since I've run the wireless controllers but I believe channel 2 and 6 were the only channels that the wireless controllers would connect to. So 1,3,4 (on the extension box) & 5 (on the control unit) had wired controllers plugged into them. The two wireless controllers were set to channel 2 and 6. It's kind odd but the extension set plugs into 1 and it gives you 1,3,4. Then on the CU 3 becomes 5 and 4 becomes 6. So your still going to see 3 and 4 on the CU become id's 5 and 6 with the extension set. But with the extension set you could plug into 3 and 4 on it, and see the correct IDs. ( I believe) Fuel on channels 5 & 6 is a Carrera issue and has nothing to do with SmartRace. But it really isn't an issue because 5 & 6 still work the same as the other channels, unless you try to manually adjust the fuel for channels 5 & 6 is when its an issue. Which I never do. @@ButchersSlotcarJournal Well having the fuel turn on on the CU is why you're having trouble with the fuel usage. Smartrace when to a lot of time and trouble to develop the fuel simulator. I got to be a part of the development for it. Carrera's fuel simulator depended on the controllers position and the chips that Carrera put in their cars would all act differently. There were even some evil chips out there that would be way off in speed from other chips. So the fuel usage was never accurate between cars. So Smartrace added the fuel simulator that's based on lap times and usage/percentages. So each time you pass the start finish line your fuel will drop. This is a huge improvement over the CU calculating the fuel usage ( which was way off). So you should see near equal fuel usage between cars with the CU's fuel turned off and SmartRace's Fuel Simulator turned on. :-)
