God as our reset; meditating in silence listening, recognizing, honoring & praising, conversing and praying in our blundering honest mannerisms in our deep desire to connect with God. When we sit in silence, read His Word, or even when walking outdoors with a humble contrite heart and warmly greet and welcome His presence, no agenda or preferences predetermined, God in his kindness speaks to our heart, and refreshes our mind’s interest and soul’s desires to help us proceed with a greater understanding and appreciation for His interests over ours.
Love the instructional teaching and ending prayer… thank you! 💕🙂

a very good reminder to get alone and spend time with God. Thats the only way we will know who we are and who He is and therin is our peace .

Did Ruth Haley Barton forget God speaks to us through His Word? Doesn't she know God gave his children the Holy Spirit to lead them, guide them, and comfort them? She speaks like someone that does not know God personally and is looking to "hear" from God by sitting up straight, closing her eyes, and keeping her hands open? Jesus said if you love me you will obey me. He said the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and to love your neighbor as yourself. He commissioned His disciples to go into all the world and preach the Good News, that Jesus loves us, and went to the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and if we put our faith in Him we will not perish but have everlasting life with Him. Ruth Haley Barton may be a nice person but I wouldn't look to her for spiritual guidance. Don't the Buddhists do the same thing? Sit with their back straight, close their eyes with open hands? No, she's not for me.

I travel very much, too, and I really appreciate these humorous and symbolic stories of airplane travel.

Some good points and listened through but talks abit to fast at times. Just her style and being excited to talk about God but just made me feel like she's running on a motor while I'm trying to feel relaxed lol x

This is nonsense - we don’t have to do anything to be more in Gods presence. Jesus himself provided that in his redemptive work. Hebrews 9. Run from her. This is dangerous teaching as she places herself at a higher level of spirituality than others.

If you think Ruth is advocating for some sort of spiritual hierarchy, you’ve missed everything she’s said and don’t actually know Ruth’s heart. What she *is* saying is that there are certain false patterns that we find ourselves in at different moments of the spiritual journey where we can lose track of hearing from God. Not that God stops being with us, but we just tend to put him on the back burner and sometimes can’t find him. Ruth is advocating for us to re-discover our greatest desire to be Him and not anything else.
