She sister is nine years old . She was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in June . She has struggled with coping with the fact that her freedom to eat has been taken away . This stories are beautiful . Her blood sugar runs crazy and it’s hard to keep her at a stable sugar . However she is allergic to dogs and my family currently doesn’t have the finances for a service dog . Much love 💜

unpopular opinion, but at that age, they should be learning to figure out things and how to deal with it the way other people do before bringing in something like a service dog, just so that the children arent learning to rely on the dog. Its just an opinion tho.

There adults and teens who also have diabetic alert dogs. If it works well why not utilize it 🤷‍♀️

@@kaylastorystrab what happens when the dog isn’t there? Or it dies or passes away? Or can’t work anymore or doesn’t want to? I believe that people should learn to maintain by themselves before obtaining something like a dog so that if the dog can’t wor/cant go, your not screwed 😹 that’s all

@@servicedogcoda7326 you use the dog along with other things to mange t1d. Most people with diabetic alert dogs also have a cgm and could survive without a service dog if needed. Don’t you have a service dog also? How do you justify having a service dog then?
