    Just purchased a set in 180cm. Great ski. So light and easy to ride and to turn. Skiing Alta powder with no problems. Plenty of float. They are very soft, wood only, so not much rebound out of the tail in turns.
    Definitely a powder ski, not all mountain. As Jeff recommended, I mounted the bindings at the minus 2 line: perfect.

    torn between the 100 and the 110, I like to ski everywhere on the mountain with a preference for trees and steep challenging sections. In west coast and mainly only go ski after storms, but we don't always get em and I love to rip groomers to fill the void. Still going for the skiing style of the bent, so happy with that choice, but 100 or 110? 5'11, 150lbs going for 180cm length

      I think you’ll have more versatility with the 100. I have the 110 and really only ride it on a powder days. My arv 96s get the most play time.

      I think the 100 offers a greater chance of overall success and happiness. 180 sounds great!

    Hi! Would you be able to compare these to the BC Draco Freebird? I ski mostly woods, off piste, backcountry. And a bit of touring. Sometimes in close proximity to ski lift areas and some full days all self powered;) Obviously not the same big spines as my fellow countryman nikolai schirmer. I love the ski to be easy maneuverable in trees, but also fun and confident. I am an 40 year old fairly advanced skier who used to compete racing as a kid..
    Thx! Appreciate any help and love your feedback 🙌🙏

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bent 110 was tough for me because I'm 225 pounds and it's just on the flexible side for my weight. The Draco is stiffer and more directional, so will hold up better to more aggressive skiing. If maneuverability is what you're looking for, Bent has it for sure, but for a mix of attributes, including higher performance, I like the Black Crows.

    I’ve been skiing for years on Volkl Mantra M5s but decided to pick up a pair of bent 110s to have a more enjoyable time in the deep stuff. The Mantras have a -11.5 cm rec mount point, and the bent 110s have the rec mount point at -3cm. Would you recommend mounting these further back for someone coming from a more traditional ski?
    Also planning on mounting shifts and doing some touring - not sure if that factors into mount point choice.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd say if you're used to a more directional ski, moving the mount back a few more cm will be helpful. For touring, the further back, the more shovel is out front, which leads to slightly easier climbing. I don't think I'd go much farther than another -3 but that's a good place to start.

    5'8 and 200 pounds here, I bought a pair of 172s for this winter. Went real short because I've been exclusively on 101cm and 107cm skiboards for the last 20 years and I wanted to try long planks for deeper pow days. My skiboards are super fat - 125 and 138 under foot - and the extra fat ones have full rocker, so I'm interested to see how the Bents feel in comparison.

  • @HM_HL

    How does it compare to the Black Crows Atris?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bent 110 is quite a bit more flexible and freestyle-oriented in terms of groundwork. The Atris is smoother and sturdier, especially in the longer lengths and at higher speeds. Although narrower, the Atris is very composed in deep and chopped snow. I did not quite find the same to be true about the Bent 110, but I'm 6/2 225 and found it it to be on the soft side.

    Hello I’m 177 (5’10”) and 81kg (180lbs). 180 or 188? How it compare to Bacon 108 in terms of flotation? Want something that will for sure not tipdive. And still by playful to nose press tail press. How it compare to 120 in 184 in terms of feeling the length of the ski. And how Bacons 108 184 compares to 115 178 and 188.
    I think that bent 110 in 180 would be perfect in size but Bacons 115 are tempting because of their wider platform. I like wider skis, but I’m afraid that 188 will be to long and 178 will be to short and will have less float.
    Thanks!

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The 188 Bent 110 should do the trick for you. The longer length gives more flotation in the tips while keeping the buttering and pressing attributes firmly intact. I fear the Bacons would be on the short and slightly narrow side for what you seem to like. The 120 skis a bit short because of the longer effective edge. That said, I bet the 192 would be too long for most of the time. Same with the Bacon 115--there's some heft here at the 188 level. I think the slightly lighter Bent 110 in the 188 fits your style and application.

    • @LukaszGabrysia
      @LukaszGabrysia 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SkiEssentials thanks a lot!! 188 won’t be to long. This season I skied Mana 2 183cm and it felt little to long (was super stable) probably because of the stiffness. 188 is 5cm longer, should I be afraid of that or because it is softer and has more rocker than mana I will not notice that? Jeff, You are similar in size (I’m just a bit heavier) and skiing background to me, do You prefer 110 in 180 or 188? Do You feel 188 to long?
      Thanks ones again!

    Is the ski also good for more harsh conditions so for example compressed snow when you are touring? And if no which ski would you recommend for powder and harsher conditions?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I actually really liked the Bent 110 in non-powder conditions. It's not as stable or powerful as heavier and more directional skis in this range like the Armada Declivity 108 or the K2 Mindbender 108, but it's pretty good. Those skis are more powerful in harsher conditions, but for the weight and float, the Atomic is pretty darn good.

    Hi Skieesentials! So bit of an odd question. I LOVE short skis, but I'm a heavier guy, so I was wandering if the 164 is much softer than the 172? I want a ski that's as short and fat as possible, but I weigh 220lbs...

    I have a pair of 90underfoot park skis and am looking for a second pair of skis for days with more snow. Would these bent 110’s be good for Colorado & Tahoe? Or would you recommend looking at something more in the 100-range?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the move to the 110 gives you a greater gap between your skis and makes your decision making process that much easier. If you have a 90 and a 100, there's going to be more overlap. Nice to know you have the deep days covered with a 110.

    how does this quiver sound
    bent 100 - east daily
    bent 110- east heavy powder and west daily - haven't purchased yet
    enforcer 93- early ski season rock ski

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  ปีที่แล้ว

      A nice mix of widths! The Bents are particularly playful, my only hesitation would be firm east days, that the 100 won't hold up as well. Keep the Enforcer tuned and use that maybe? Or replace Bent 100 with something similar but slightly more sturdy--Unleashed 98, Camox, Blackops 98?

    • @nygisgod

    • @tonoru3370
      @tonoru3370 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SkiEssentials I ended up mounting them exactly on the line. I absolutely had to get used to it. Before I skied for Völkl and was used to a ski that was a bit more supportive and stable. I ended up jumping into some crud, went over the bars and tomahawked 4 times. Once you get used to being a bit more on the tails it is an incredibly fun ski and the very centered mounting position makes sense.

    Deciding between Bent 110s and Candide's BC 111...

    Any advice?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the stiffer flex of the Candide personally, but if you're more freestyle oriented and want to accentuate the creative side, the Bent is pretty capable of butters, groundwork, and other interesting aspects. Candide is more consistent from tip to tail and has WAY less camber than the Bent.

      I had the candide 4,0 and it was squirly on the flats. I personally like camber and think that though I like surf skis I want some stability at speed

    Hey guys,
    I’ve been looking into the unleashed 108 and the atomic bent 110 as my new big mountain ski. I’m 5’10 165lbs, advanced/expert skier, the bent is pretty tempting but I’m worried it would be too flimsy for days without good coverage which are pretty common where I ski. I plan to use the ski for charging steeps, and drops with deeper and less consistent landings. Although the low swing weight of the bent is appealing I’m wondering whether or not it equates to too soft of a ski that lacks dampness especially in inopportune conditions. Just looking for some guidance, big fan of the reviews.
    Thanks!

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you were my size (6/2 225) and said the same things, I'd totally steer you to Unleashed without a second thought. Since you're lighter, the Bent still makes good sense, but be aware that it is quite a bit more flexible than the Nordica with a much lower performance ceiling. It's more playful and floaty for sure, so it kind of depends how much of your time is actually going to be spent in softer and deeper snow while being creative with your skiing. Other than that, if you feel that most of your skiing is going to be faster, more technical, and aggressive, then I'd say the Unleashed will certainly stand up to those rigors. Unleashed is a fantastic turning ski with a lot of energy and dampness. It's not overly demanding, but you do know that it is there on your feet for sure.

      I think it's okay to size up on this ski if you're caught in the middle. It's pretty light and quite rockered, so there's not a lot of effective edge.
