      @milanm403 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SreerajTecH Djokovic is by far the GOAT in tennis and has been for years. Look up his stats, count. It's not even a debate. How conveniently people forget weeks as ATP no1, which prove consistency and real level of work? 373 weeks as the World No1!! That's 1 year & 11 weeks clear of Federer!! That's 3 years & 8 weeks clear of Nadal!! Big titles recorder by far. Masters titles recorder. Only Golden masters title holder. All 4 Grand slams titles holder at the same time. 7 times Year end No1 and recorder. 21 Grand slams titles holder and runner up. ATP finals 5 times title holder and runner up. ATP points recorder by 16975. So in all key indicators only Nadal outnumbers him by 1 on Grand slams and Olympics medals and Federer by 1 on ATP finals. Too few to be enough for any of them to be objectively considered GOAT. Before Djokovic outnumbered Federer on the Weeks being No1 as the most comprehensive indicator, I considered that Federer is GOAT but now it is very obvious that Novak is by far ahead. We can add that Djokovic is better in head 2 head from both of them as well, but that is less important than titles and key records of absolute value.

    fed has the most talent, by far the best style, and can do things other players simply can´t. most versatile, and basically plays every shot with natural touch and exceptionally well, serve, forehand, backhand, slice, dropshots, volley...
    however, there was always a slight chance his backhand was off, he´d make too many unforced errors and lose a grand slam match against lesser players.
    nadal in his prime, he was for number of slams just totally unplayable for anyone, you just knew he would not be beaten in a best of 5 match

      +AJbosnian Federer has reached five Roland garros finals, not six, and Nadal has reached 5 Wimbledon finals too. Rafa has 2 titles to Federers 1. Nadal had to beat and dethroned Federer himself to win his first Wimbledon crown, and had to beat home favourite Andy Murray to win his second. Federers lone title came in 2009 against Robin Soderling, whom is clearly inferior to Rafa's opponents. Clear winner here.

    The Three Goats
    There are 3 contenders (Federer, Nadal & Djokovic) for GOAT, and there are multiple factors to consider in this debate:
    Grand Slams won (RF 20, RN 18, ND 15)
    ATP finals won (RF 6, RN 0, ND 5)
    Masters 1000s won (RF 28, RN 34, ND 33)
    Olympic golds won (RF 0, RN 1, ND 0)
    All 4 above (RF 54, RN 52, ND 53)
    Career grand slam (RF, RN, ND)
    Career Golden Masters (ND only)
    Head to Head (RF-RN 15-24 RF-ND 22-25; RN-ND 26-28)
    No. of weeks as world #1
    What can we conclude from these stats?
    Federer clearly has won the most grand slams, but when you add the other big titles (ATP finals, Masters 1000 & Olympic gold), all three are pretty much at the same level (RF 54, RN 52, ND 53). Also, given where they are in their respective careers - Federer at 37 and Nadal with his war ravaged body - Djokovic is the one who is most likely to be the overall leader once all three hang up their boots.
    While all three have won the career slam, Djokovic is the only one to have held all 4 grand slam titles at the same time. Further, the spread of grand slam titles is heavily skewed for Nadal (12out of 18 are French Opens, and he’s only won once in Melbourne). Federer & Djokovic both have multiple Australian Open, Wimbledon & US Open titles, but have only one French Open title each. Djokovic is likely to win more French Open titles, so he might end up with the widest spread of grand slam titles in the end.
    Nadal is the only one with the Golden Slam - all 4 slams plus the Olympic gold (though Djokovic can fix that in Tokyo 2020).
    But then, Nadal has never won the ATP finals, which should effectively be considered as the 5th grand slam. If you consider it as the 5th slam, then Federer has won 26, Djokovic 20 and Nadal 18.
    However, Novak is the only one to have won all the 9 Masters 1000 titles, whereas Federer & Nadal have won 7 out of 9. So Djokovic is the only player to have won all the 4 grand slams, all 9 Masters 1000s, and the ATP finals.
    And when you look at the head-to-head, Djokovic has a winning H2H record against both his rivals, whereas Federer has a losing H2H against both his rivals. Nadal leads Federer but trails Djokovic. This is a bad stat for Federer. Surely you can’t be the GOAT when you have a losing record against the two main rivals from your own era? A peak Federer was a better hardcourt and grassplayer then both Nadal & Djokovic fore sure and the Nadal is better than Federer & Djokovic on clay.
    In terms of number of weeks as world #1, Federer at 310 weeks is far ahead of everyone else, but it is very likely that Djokovic (& Nadal) will close the gap in the next 2-3 years.
    Overall, my conclusion is as follows:
    Federer is the most beautiful tennis player in history and the best ever on grass;
    Nadal is the greatest fighter in history, and the best ever on clay;
    But stats show that Djokovic is THE best player in history, therefore he is the GOAT.
    In any case, Federer, Nadal & Djokovic are undoubtedly the three greatest tennis players of all time. I must mention Borg here - who knows what he might have accomplished had he not quit when he was just 26? But he did, and that’s the end of that. What about Laver? A mixed amateur & pro career can’t be properly assessed, also he played when the sport wasn’t nearly as competitive as it is today.
    All three - Federer, Nadal & Djokovic - are an absolute joy to watch, especially when they play against each other, resulting in many of the greatest tennis matches ever played. So, whichever one of them you might be rooting for (me, I’m just “Fed Up”), we are lucky that the three goats play in the same era.

    • @JEELEM1
      @JEELEM1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great comparison, but I would like to point out that most of Nadal's victories over Federer are on Clay They met 16 times on Clay which Nadal won 14 times. Who knows what it would be if they would have met 1/3 on grass, 1/3 on clay, 1/3 on hard. However, even if I follow Federer since I'm young and want him to win in his duels with the 2 others, I must agree 100% on what you just said. Djokovic is really impressive in his prime and I think he is often underestimated when talking about GOAT.

Unless you consider Nadal having 2 more of "his" slams a huge factor in differentiating them, what you're saying is illogical. Of course Federer is good all around, and especially good on grass. Isnt it so weird that when they were asked whos the toughest player youve ever faced in your career and their answer was not the guy who holds 18 GS titles and is world no 1 record holder?? Still doesnt change the fact that he IS the toughest player!!

      It's about what they consider to be tough. Nadal is a bully on the tennis court who just grinds you down and pushes you around. Federer is more subtle in his style so it probably doesn't feel like bashing your head against a brick wall.

      Nadal has a better victories / defeats ratio : he wins more, factually (he's 5 years younger too), so it's not just a matter of feeling, it's a matter of results.

    True, he was talking about Ferrer however, not Murray. Ferrer's the one who is 0-14 vs Fed. Andy Murray's 11-9 vs Roger and 5-13 vs. Rafa.

    I don't think there is THE best forehand, but for me Fernando Verdasco's forehand impresses me the most. Sadly he's never been that consistent.
