I am getting wet pucks (have tried the top screen both ways - hole side up and logo side up) but quite good espresso.
I’m used to wet pucks on my Decent but if you like the taste, that is what counts.
Thank you so much for the video! How about the channeling problem? Does the basket helps? If not, which basket do you recommend to reduce channeling issue? Thanks!
Thx for watching. Channeling can be a part of the process with any basket but especially with those fast ones. Fresh Dark/medium coffee still looks great but with light roasts you may struggle sometimes. Sometimes even those bad looking shots can be very drinkable.
Awesome video ! I was considering buying the all in one but as you stated in your last comment about struggling more with light roast I’ll pass. I have a Breville dual boiler (please don’t make fun of me) lol and I drink allot of light roast, sometimes light to medium. Can you recommend a basket for me. I’m still using my stock basket with stock portafilter.
@@rigocastillo2893 Thx. Sage Dual Boiler is one of the best machines in this price range. Try Pullman or VST but each of them will be trickier than stock basket.
@@mycoffeeshow111 yes I’m very happy with it just ready for a Rocket V3 but gonna have to wait a bit. And thank you I’ll try one of those baskets. I’m not afraid of tricky lol.
@@rigocastillo2893 good luck and please let me know how you like them.
How do you think the E&B compares to the filters from Kafmasino? Guess thay are in the same price range.
Good question. Never really compared them. The design of this particular E&B basket is more interesting than Kafmasino. Next video will be about Ikape Matrix basket.
PUCK SCREEN BATTLE 🙌🏻
Will have to do this. I have few interesting videos to record first.
Interesting video, I'll stick with my pulman with paper filters top and bottom :)
Thx. Pullman always did well in my videos. If you have a chance, try any high extraction basket if you haven’t yet. It can change the way you think about coffee.
It would be awesome if you make a video/tutorial on Allonge... ive heard great things but never beeen ablo to get a good one on my DE1
I have done some in the past but maybe I should revisit it again. Allonge can be a great coffee.
Ok, I got them. Thank you!
Two questions: if I used an IMS basket before, with a Weber paper filter at the bottom and one of those mesh puck screens on top, should I now be grinding slightly courser?
And the All in One basket is capable of doing several brew methods, but alas my HX (Rocket Appartamento) has neither flow control nor flow profiling. Any workarounds?
Well done. Even with simpler machine it should work as a nice high extraction basket. I assume you haven’t tried any other baskets like so. They are very fast, and especially with constant 9bar can be easy to over extract. Experiment but I would assume you will have to grind finer
Are you able to adjust the pressure on your machine? If so you can play with that as well
@@mycoffeeshow111 Tried today. It definitely ran fast and generated some channelling (but tasted quite good). Will grind a bit finer and may also try adding the bottom paper filter (adding resistance to the puck).
Basket seems deeper than the IMS 18 I’d been using. As per one of your other comments, I may need to increase dose a bit. Cheers.
@@seansweet4883 thx and good luck! It is very difficult to get one stream of coffee with it but not all channeling is bad.
@@mycoffeeshow111 Hope you don’t mind the feedback updates. I went a bit finer and added the Weber bottom paper filter. I should have known, but like other HE baskets, the bottom is wider and the paper didn’t go walk to wall. Was a longer pull (~ 37 g in 30 seconds) that tasted very good. Will keep experimenting. So much fun!
What refractometer do you have? What's your experience with it?
DI Fluid. I wouldn’t say I trust it completely but it is good to show the difference between shots. I usually do multiple readings and show the average nr. Can’t afford to get anything more professional.
Nice video. I aimed for One. Due to their 58mm only production for now I bought similar basket called Buterfly Effect by 3Bomber. The first thing I confrtonted, as you mentioned, dial in problem and fountain like chanelling. Even I tried fine close to Turkish grind size. Still same. I used medium light bean. By medium dark still channeling remained but flavor and tasting notes I got, never experienced before with same beans. The other thing I experienced was colder shots to compare with other baskets with same puck prep situation. One last thing, I use it mostly for brewing tea now.
Thx for watching. Interesting results. Wondering if colder shots could be due to channeling? How was the cleaning of the basket?
@@mycoffeeshow111 Maybe channeling pluse faster flow. Cleaning wise same here.
what grinder you use can i know? bcuz grinder is "king" in espresso....most people forgot bout that....u can go finest setting using filter focus burr but still cant brew excellent espresso with it
@@muhammadnajwan5078 for this test I used one of Kafatek grinders, Flat Max 2 if I remember correctly.
How would you rate the E&B compared to the two baskets from your last video?
In the last 2 weeks I made more espresso than I often pull in the month. I simply couldn’t compare everything with everything- that would be impossible task. I am only speculating here but any of them should satisfy those who like intense, sharper flavours in the coffee. Mischief can sometimes be too sharp though. I might do another comparison in the future but for the next few weeks I’m having flat whites only 😛
Hi, How many bar did you use with all in one basket for espresso
Hi. Can you pleas add links for USA Amazon?
Thanks
Sure. Done. All in one E&B basket

Thank you
If you want a basket to try, there's the Sworks Design stepdown that converts a 58 mm machine into a 49 mm one, very interesting if you want to try espresso with a taller puck and using your grinder at a coarser range where it might produce less fines.
Thx for that. I guess it offers more in terms of body? Sworks is above my budget unfortunately. Tried to contact them but so far been ignored.
That's what I want to know really, I like big 20-22 grams shots in my 58 and they offer a different balance than small 16 grams shots, but I can't really drink two larges shots a day, not to mention the cost in coffee. Hence my interest in the step down basket.
@@coffeeandshots if they ever send me something I will definitely record a comparison.
How does the e&b all in one compared to the pullman 17-19??
Pullman espresso tends to be balanced. I usually get around 19-19.5% extraction. All in One will be more lively, with sharper notes and much higher extraction.
@@mycoffeeshow111 thanks for the reply... so its like
clarity/juiciness = all in one
balance/more body = pullman
am i right?
@@panagiotismitkonis495 There are baskets that give you more body or sharper flavours , but when you compare those two that would be a very likely outcome.
How does it compare with pesado HE and pedantry basket?
I only have regular Pesado and wasn’t impressed with it. Pedantry I like a lot. Haven’t done proper side by side comparisons so only speculating that PCL can give you more sour flavours and maybe more clarity.
Which basket size fits the decent?
They all are 58mm so any should do but I would not take the small one.
Which profile on decent?
@@amitmargalit4551 it is called filter 2.1 if I remember correctly
Great to see that you like yours, I'm getting mine prbly tomorrow due to Christmas delivery delays...
With channelling maybe try a filter paper in-between puckscreen and coffee puck, that has helped me a lot in the past
Thx for the tip. It has become better (less channeling) since I updosed to 19g and gentlier tamping. I don’t know why but I don’t like using paper filters. The main beauty of this basket is that it works like if the filter was already there. Good luck with your delivery. I have a very important coffee equipment that has stuck in Belgium. Was hoping to do another unboxing soon.
