    Sounds as if, maybe to state the obvious, the lack of development of so many players lies with a number of the assistants.

    I could listen to Andy, Mike, and Justice all day long every day ngl
    We blessed Packers fam
    I love how when they disagree they are smart enough and gracious enough to know where the other is coming from and can discuss it without feeling "shouty show"
    I do wish they had gotten more into what happened to Zack Tom. Weirdly bad game
    Just class acts all around
    Thanks for doing 😂these guys

    The Packers are notorious for keeping and playing their high round draft picks (Walker) over other players on the roster (Wilson) that are performing better.

    We need upgrades on both sides of the line, elite players, not more semi-good or passable players, we can’t draft another 1st round project or draft a guy early because he’s versatile, we need no doubt elite players.

    I’m a Georgia Bulldog fan, watched Quay Walker play well there but when my Packers took him early in the draft I was shocked. He is not instinctive enough to play inside backer. Cooper is the real deal

    An interesting discussion for me is 2023 and 2024 were different. I understand that in the base running game in 2024 was better but there resulted in a hole between the running game and the middle. In 2023 Aaron Jones was able to fill in that middle with his pass catching ability. In 2024 they used Reed in that space but Reed really fell off the last half of the year. Lafluer is a smart guy and a Math Major so I expect he will find the flaw. Marshawn Lloyd could have filled that space if he hadn't gotten hurt. Hopefully he will be healthy in 2025. If Lloyd and Watson had stayed healthy things likely would have been a lot better. Than there is the issue with the O-line. Need an upgrade there.

    It seems the more decisions Quay has to make the less effective he is. Maybe he needs to play Edge...see QB, hit QB.

    The Packers had the opportunity to draft a big time center in Creed Humphrey, the number one ranked center in that year’s draft. Instead Gutey decided to show everyone that he was the smartest guy in the room and picked Myers, the number 11 ranked center in the draft.

    • @leehemmersbach8018
      @leehemmersbach8018 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Creed had off the field issues in college. Packers were never going to draft him. And #11 center according to who? Doesn't matter unless you are GM

    I know he didn’t always go about it the right way, but it’s starting to show how important Rodgers was in keeping the offence in check. Him, Bakh and Adams were big veteran voices that seem to be missing in our new, younger offense.
    Bad fundamentals, lazy route running etc didn’t happen as much under the last regime.

    Now that it’s the off-season, I want to ask about Zach Tom. There was talk of him being a good tackle but could be a hall of fame center. It seems like Tom’s worst games he’s being pushed back/ out muscled. Doesn’t center need a heavier “anchor” than a tackle? Can you explain what would make Tom a better center than tackle?

    • @masonhiemstra2188
      @masonhiemstra2188 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Typically, you want your tackles to be able to handle power better. On the interior Centers don't have to worry about a NT getting a runway on a bull rush. It's a lot of hand fighting, and sure, you need some level of anchor but at tackle you have to deal with guys like a Rahsan Gary getting a runway to put two arms into your chest. That's also why arm length is discussed for tackles it's much harder for you to handle power if you don't get hands on the defender and if your arms are too short that can become a problem. If you follow any draft coverage, that will be a huge conversation with probably the top Lineman in the draft, Will Campbell. The debate will be whether or not he can be a tackle or a Guard in the NFL

    I feel like Gutey always thinks he’s smarter than everyone and reaches in the first round. Every player that I could remember other than probably Jah was a reach compared to the consensus board. Maybe we should use that first for a legit starter cuz we only draft well after the first.

      Walker and stokes were significant reaches according to consensus but the rest are marginal differences. I think the home run swing tendency in the first round might be one to rethink.

    Andy, do you think the quick passing game (outside of screens and check downs) was under emphasized this year?
    It seemed to me that Love greatly improved his deep ball timing and accuracy, but moved away from the 5-15 yard range as his area of attack. I feel like he’s special in the intermediate and really good short and deep, but the offense seemed predictable this year with a lack of quick game past the line of scrimmage.
    Am I way off here?

  • @josephgleason6534

    Pretty interesting on the o-line toughness topic.
    As for the defense I think they transformed the mentality beautifully. Quay Walker, Evans, Bullard, Gary, McKinney, Cooper, Keisean, Slaton, McDuffie and Wilson, even Stokes. All hard nosed. All swarm to the ball.

      @Matt-yq3gq วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Putting stock in a GM press conference isn’t worth your time. He’s not gonna talk down on his players. And while I don’t think Meyers is good either, PFF isn’t a tool they care about to evaluate players

  • @DanteS-f7d
    @DanteS-f7d 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

    lWhen does the learning curve benefit Love? Yes...year 2 as starter but year 5 in the league. There has to some point where most of the learning should be a little behind you as a 6 year starter. Somebody mentioned PFF grades on GB receivers getting open are pretty good. Those don't include other receivers running screens to get other receivers open. GB needs guys who can consistently win one on ones. Drops is unacceptable at this point. Andy was right NO vet WR showed a consistent jump this year. On defense the last viable pass rush was with the Smithes. Truth be told they have been getting by key plays and not consistency on SOME defensive plays. As far as Nixon.. if there is a problem at him being a returner...well to be honest he is not very good at his natural position...what is he going to do? Love needs to train with a mentor and work on his footwork and placement until he can perform these in his sleep. Every year they are drafting OL ...this year be different, get a game changer. NO MORE PROJECTS!!!!

    Jordan Love will have to take the next step in his career as the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback without his revered quarterback coach, Tom Clements. The next part in Jordan Love’s evolution as a quarterback is to assume a more vocal leadership role within the team. Whoever coaches Jordan Love next season will be tasked, in part, with helping him take the next step in his career as a starter. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
