  • There were only a couple of video reviews for this tent, so I felt like making my own since my camera shoots in 1080p. So far I have not yet camped in this tent, only set it up in my yard. I plan to make one more review when I actually go camping for 4 nights in the beginning of July. My first impressions of the tent are good though, in my opinion, this tent is not as huge as some make it sound in their reviews on Amazon. I apologize that the video(s) ran a bit long. Hopefully my review helps you make your determination in whether or not this tent is for you. Again, check back in mid-July for a full review after I've camped in it for 4 nights.
FYI, I ended up not making another video when I went camping. I was just way too busy. The tent held up well but did leak with heavy rain. The leaking wasn't horrible, we stayed dry... but there were puddles near the corners of the big sleeping area, and also some next to the big zip up flaps of the screen room. I would recommend using some seam sealer and ensuring you're on the levelest spot possible, this may have contributed to the leaking as my site was not very level.

The rainfly is sewn to the guy ropes with only one pass of stitches. During a bit of wind one guy rope ripped out of the fly. I plan to run an extra row of stitching on ALL of the guy ropes where they are fastened to the fly. Those are what actually support the tent body.
I also plan to add more guy ropes by drilling a hole in the metal poles and tying off a sturdy piece of cord in a loop. I'll run an extra guy rope through that loop so that I have two more ropes to anchor the poles. Off each pole there will be an A shape of guy ropes extending to the ground.
ALWAYS SEAL A TENT. Concentrate on the seams. They punch hundreds of holes in the tent when they sew it up. That creates hundreds of possible leaks. I work it into the seams with a paintbrush. I highly recommend "Dry Guy" or "Nikwax".

The corner collapsing, as I think I mentioned in the video annotations, subsided after re-positioning the support pole. If I remember correctly the guide lines actually are ONLY on the rain fly and not the tent itself....unless I am recalling incorrectly. One thing I will say again, be sure to use the instructions and actually stake this down flat BEFORE trying to raise it. I screwed up the last time setting it up. lol. Much easier when you do it correctly.

I've set up this tent by myself, not hard at all rain fly went on in 5 minutes and total time by yourself is about 15-20 out of the bag. 9 poles total in frame, after doing it once you will do it around the time estimated above everyone. Great tent, haven't used in rain yet, so I can't comment on the leaking but holds fine with wind.

Yep, that's about right. Rain fly was more of a pain for me because I'm a bit short and it was quite windy that day. Lol

Nice videos. Is there a way to attach lines to the poles to keep the corners from caving in? Wonder if buying extra lines would help as long as they can be attached securely. Is the joint where the top poles and side poles secure or do they just slide in the joint so if you could attach lines they may pull the poles out of the joint? Thanks

I just bought the blue colored version of this tent as well as a set of 20 heavy duty steel stakes and 100' of pink parachord so I could add lines if needed.

Thanks for watching, glad you found it informative. I definitely like it, despite the cons I noted. It actually held up pretty good to some decent wind... but I do believe a tight dome tent may have an advantage if the wind got real rough. It also did pretty well in the 2 days of rain I had, despite not applying any seam sealer. I just had a couple of small puddles...but those could have occurred due to the uneven ground I had to set it up on. All in all a good tent and it shouldn't disappoint.

Can you make a video of how to fold it back up and put back in the case?

Did the corner collapsing in the wind ever subside? It seems to me if you had staked out the guide lines that would fix that? Do you use air mattresses? I am curious because when my wife goes camping with us she will not sleep on the ground :-). I have one of those Coleman 4-in-1 Air Mattresses and was wondering how they would fit inside?

Each pole should be tied down with a stakes each. That should be fine with the wind. If the wind is stronger than usual, two tie downs at an angle per pole should do it. IIt looks like a good tent. how much did you pay for it?

i have the tent and once you tie down the poles you wont have the problem. also the first thing that i do to any tent is seam seal the entire cover and all the corners. this tent there were alot with all the angles. we had rain and no leaks we had wind and no fall downs. we had a great time all 2 years that we had the tent so don't be concerned. the only thing that i didnt like was that is was not a tub design.

Very nice deal! We were pretty happy with our tent. It leaked a little... but that was under heavy rain and we have never used seam sealer on anything...so you may want to do that. But otherwise it was pretty nice. We've only actually "used" it once so far.

Sounds good Sir, Should be receiving it sometime soon and will try it out in the back yard first. Thanks again and will let you all know how it did on my trip.

Thanks for the review Ace! Very informative. Just ordered the same from Walmart.com this eve
don't think I regret the buy ($149.99). Be trying her out in Buelton, Ca.in a three weeks where we just got back from and it does get breezy at times. Will post any issues if any. I own two others (Coleman) but this one looked neat with the patio. Thank You again!

Found your review on Amazon! Thanks for the video of the tent! I bought it off amazon for 119! So for the price you can't beat the size and the screen room!

would this tent fit 2 queen air mattresses?

  • @JoshuaSabourin
    @JoshuaSabourin  11 ปีที่แล้ว

Well, I'm very confident it will fit two if you use one in the main sleeping area and one in the secondary area, which is also the screened in porch. As far as putting two together in the main area, I'm not completely sure. I think they would, but they would certainly be tight and likely touching the sides of the tent... so that is a good way to have moisture come in and get things wet. The next time I have this up I will take a video with my air mattress and let everyone know for sure.
