I applied for SNAP and Medicaid. I had to prove I was an American citizen with a passport or birth certificate. Undocumented don't get services, but they pay taxes.
Yes, thank you. I have a friend who is undocumented. She had an emergency and ended up in the hospital. This was a non-profit hospital and they could help her with the bill, but in order for them to do that she had to show she could not get Medicaid. They made her apply and she got a letter saying she was denied due to “CITIZENSHIP ISSUE.” I know there’s some people out there who do get Medicaid, but it’s normally for their kids because they themselves don’t qualify!

I live in Southern California and I personally know a lot of second gen people who are children of undocumented immigrants. Over the years their parents have gained citizenship and I remember going to the courthouse and celebrating with some of them. Now it's like they have amnesia about the history of their own family and they voted for Trump some of these people. It's almost like they're saying screw you I got in and now I'm shutting the door behind me and slamming it in everyone else's face. Am I wrong for finding that massively hypocritical?

I still have some family in the process of getting their green cards to become permanent residents. Both of my parents voted for Trump. My father is very stubborn, it is extremely difficult to convince him about anything, let alone related to politics. My mother had Some chance of getting convinced, except she became very set on voting for trump simply because the circumstances were better during his first term. The nerve of my parents i swear.

From experience : When you are undocumented in the USA they give you a TIN number "Tax Identification Number" and you pay taxes but do not get anything in return. I lived undocumented in the USA for 4 years, and it was like that, I had a business and I paid income tax every year. I left the USA after 5 years because I was too well educated to live like that. I was denied the business visa, the argument "I was overqualified to do the job", I did respond and asked them -- how can anybody be overqualified to be an immigrant, if it is the most difficult thing a persona can be.

The ITIN number should blow your mind. Undocumented and illegals don’t have a right to a ID or license but do have access to get their tax payer number to pay taxes to the same government who technically don’t recognize them
Inside the country, even tho they don’t qualify for SS or unemployment. Why do undocumented people choose to pay taxes? Because they want to create a good record in this country that they are abiding by the laws, and we all know Uncle Sam loves getting his cut.
I worked for the IRS and when I was training for call center job we were told if a person called in knowingly he was illegal but using another persons social security number and asking about his refund etc to ignore the red flags and process his question as if he was not clearly fraudulently using someones ssn. The government knows what’s going on but they have to make sure to get their cut in taxes from someone who won’t reap the benefits in ss retirement.
Someone doing taxes for the firs time with an ITIN # have to pay a fee of about $1,000.00 dollars!😮

I had a veteran gf in Hawaii, that served in the USMC, she was half Puerto Rican. A tiny little thing with the heart of a lion. She was homeless and living in her car and Hawaii is outrageously expensive for those that don't know. I shared my small, humble home with her for awhile but a few years after I had to leave and returned to Australia. She ended up commiting suicide. She was 49 years old. She was intelligent, funny, a pure heart and a good person. She always said she would top herself because she had no rights, little to no benefits, had been R'd and beaten by a gang on the streets of Honolulu, had to work two jobs to eat and survive. Her life was tough and she couldnt find a place to live or get old at. Living paycheck to paycheck.The world became a scary, unsafe place for her. And she just had enough. Breaks my heart still. RIP Little Dee

Results have already started! This is from an american woman today: My husband works for a small manufacturing company and here in southwestern PA that means most employees are Trump voters. When the president of the company sat them down today to tell them their annual Christmas bonus would not come this year because they now need to purchase at least a years worth of products prior to January 21st due to the proposed tariffs, they did not understand. My husband said that their president had to explain what a tariff is and how it will directly hurt their company. They all thought the foreign company paid the tariff. This is the level of ignorance voting against their own interests here in PA, where we failed... American women and children starting already to suffer from Trumps tariffs policy.
