I can do this in battlefield 4
It's amazing to think that nuts, bolts, & rivets can cope with the kind of forces that pilots like these put on that airframe. Hat's off to this pilot. You sir, have very big kahunas.
Surely there's only a few pilots in the world that can do this or even attempt it for that matter!! Crazy skills!! ;)
Dobrik got me here :P
Every time this thing flips and spins, I can imagine the cockpit board lighting up frantically with every error light on and every buzzer going off. Awesome stuff.
Amazing if people only knew how much it takes to just fly one of these let alone doing any type of flying like that. I can't put in to words how talented that pilot is !!!!!!
Just a quick sample it takes 3 constant input controls to just get it in the air and you always have to be aware of the airspeed, altitude not to mention avoiding the vortex ring and keeping recovery height!!! AMAZING !!!
This helicopter was modified. Read the description. You can't do any of these stunts in a normal BO-105, or any other normal chopper.
Yes , you can. A Westland Lynx can do these stunts with an unmodified airframe.
This is one bad ass pilot & good playing music to go with it! About 1 min 52 seconds in another helicopter plays right past his tail section! That was too close for comfort! I never get tired of watching this video clip!
not many helicopters can even do flips, this is amazing.
It's more difficult to do these maneuvers with a helicopter compared to a conventional aircraft. That's what make it amazing.
Amazing that those rotor blades can take the g-forces that they are being subjected to. Could never do that in my old UH1-H.
I'm working in Minot, ND with a former Army Cobra pilot. Going to show him the video tomorrow for his reaction. Very cool guy. He also fly's fixed wing. Good luck on your Helio training.:-)
Red Bull operates Eurocopter BO-105 Helicopters in the aerobatics which come from the factory with 'Hingeless' Rotor System, not 'Rigid' such as the Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne Attack Helicopter, circa late 1960's, that lost out on an Army contract to the Bell AH-1G Cobra for use in Vietnam. I flew Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm BO-105's for the Virginia State Police as a Trooper-Pilot, the Dept. had three of them at one time, which were operated on their 'EMS Med-Flight' Medical Evacuation Program.
Absolutely true, i've seen a Bo105 doing aerobatic performance wiht my own eyes. Almost like a bigger RC model halicopter. :)
One of my favourite helicopters.
I just read your info under pic---now that makes sense! Wow to the pilot!
thats the bo105.
one of the best helicopters in the world.
Heli loops are old news. Hughes rolled out the AH-64 Apache in '83. It can loop as well.
I saw that last year in Barcelona, was so awesome...
red bull is like that one cool teacher in the whole school. When all else fails, redbulls says yes
Very well presented!
excellent pilot with great gear. aweeeeeeeesome
u just gotta love that chopper
absolutely stunning
amazing helicopter action footage...next quest: try this at night
the song is by the 22-20s, the title is "Devil in me"
i think its the red bull air races in detroit because i remember the heilicoptor doing that and it looks alot like the detriot river. there were military jets flying with the air race planes.
Sweet...both song and video.
The pilot modified the rotors to be stronger, because in an unmodified helicopter, if you were to go upside, the rotors would bend, and chop the tail off.
even if its modified thats some amazing collective pitch skills.. even normal heli blades change pitch witch changes airflow from up to down....... its not the blade speed that causes lift in a heli its the pitch of the blades that can be changed at will via the collective stick
As you can clearly see from this fotage, it's rather a rotating camera mounter to another helicopter. Clever editing and positioning of the helicopters give the illusion that the helicopter is upside down when he is simply rolling from one side to another.
This is my man Chuck Aaron. Chuck, if you read this, i am Amielle's brother. Remember me from the Red Bull Moto GP in California. This is awesome
Hell of a pilot! Farking amazing stuff
I saw this in real life in Barcelona and it is truly amazing! It is stupid cool!
how can 322 people dislike this? its the most awesome thing ever!
@popcornlagace
Not from the pilot, the throttle is handled by a governor that's sole purpose is to keep the rotor head spinning at a set RPM. Changing the pitch of the rotor blades allows the rotors to either pull the chopper up or push it down, depending on whether the chopper is upside down or not.
With negative pitch and the chopper upside down the rotors will push the chopper upwards rather than pull it towards the ground.
i saw this at EAA Airventure 1 or 2 years ago. it was so cool lol
This is the very first TH-cam video I’ve ever watched
its prefectly perfect!
freaking good pilot!
Cooler Flug, cooler Film mit cooler Musik unterlegt.
i used to go on my dads computer and ask to watch this same video over and over again when i was really young.
I saw this guy in New Orleans last month. One word--- INCREDIBLE!!!!!
Epic only ever seen it done with RC helicopters
REAL BEAST, Can't believe you can do that in helicopter, BRILLIANT,
I do believe for a helicopter to fly upside down the rotor rotation would have to reverse which in theory would work, so the helicopter is pulled down when upside down. This seems the most logical reasons why it looks like a free fall.
the barrel roles are most impressive.
When the US Army was testing the Blackhawk, my stepdad's brothet was one of the pilots. Did some of these things. Badass
This is awesome.
great song
great video
great advertising!
5 stars!
the blades have variable pitch so when its upside down it can push up in relation to the pilots.
I. DIG. THIS.
:D exceptional flying imho!
@Bill56569 It does thanks. It's a question I've been wanting an answer to for some time:-) With fixed wing GA aircraft most joining circuits seem to be flown in a left turn pattern, mostly, so maybe that's why they sit on the left because as you say, it affords them better vision.
Most naval pilots however sit on the right, and one reason I have for this is because most control towers on airctraft carriers are also on the right. Better vision again. Maybe this spread to civilian use.
LOVED it!!
That's something that I never thought that I would see
I had such a vivid dream I did this last night and my palms are still sweating thinking about it
He's brining the helicopter on its limits... nice
I want one...that has to be the coolest ride.
It has to be using some negative collective on those rols. Nice flying and nice heli!
this is one ballzy helicopter pilot!
Red Bull Gives You Wings. Literally
Thats Chuck Aaron,as real as it gets.
That pilot did awsome. I love helis. This was pretty dangerous, but "whats life without a little danger".
This is dynamo...Fantastic in every way...Save to favs...
You're one lucky guy! Of course you wouldn;t be able to take a passenger, or would you? I doubt it. This is very cool. My dad used to fly tooters hercules and argus and I grew up watching air shows and getting private thrill rides over town but this takes the cake!
The old HH-53 could roll, and this was in the 70's
redbull really does give you wings
that is great performance!
I can see some killer strafe runs by this bad boy.
@cascadeSC
actually, from the first flip, you can see the ground when in falls doing a flip. and if he turned the camera, the ground would have flipped too
The moment where you bring a helicopter to a dog-fight... and the heli wins.
great pilot :)
Flying a helicopter is hard enough. Yet alone doing back flips. Amazing piloting skills.
It is amazing what the BO105 is capable of doing. WOW is all I can say.
Yeeees! Very cool video!
Now this pilot is the true Murdock from the A-Team!
great machine!
Looks like so much fun.
thats quite cool the rotors say red bull when spinning
I saw this since I been having trouble looking helicopters stunts in movies and now i believe most of them.
the barrel roll looks awesome
Like 8 years ago I Remember there is was disco music. To this video ❤️❤️I better like the disco music
Red Bull is the best, and I love red bull air race!!!!!!
Love the g load
very nice this pilot know what he do
Saw this 'copter at the Red Bull MotoGP at Laguna Seca a few years ago. Was absolutely NUTS!!!
These 3D RC choppers are cool...
That's some amazing piloting...
I didn't know helicopters could do that. I guess red bull does give you wings.
i gotta get in one of those man the robinson has a very noticeable "NO LOW G PUSHOVERS PERMITTED" sign in the cabin
red bull gives you wings indeed. . .
loving it
Jeese that's amazing!!
That must be SUCH a thrill - it's like real life GTA XD
Ive seen them do backflips in Huey's and Cobra's at an air show. But they get it major altitude before they try it so theres less risk of just dropping out of the sky.
that pilot has got some serious balls!
This is true. I have seen this at an airshow in Berlin before.
Cool song.
RED BULL DOES NOT GIVE YOU WINGS. it gives you blades of glory
Now i want to see forward flips with a copter :P
