These stories are wonderfully entertaining. I love listening in the dark, one cat on my lap, the other on the sofa next to me. Hot chocolate or coffee, rain drumming on the windows. Fantastic! Thank you so much!
I remember my thirteen year old self: it's December, 1975. It's ten pm and my AM/FM clock radio is tuned to KIXI Seattle. This clock doesn't have hands,, but flaps which turn over to indicate the time. There's school tommorrow, and I'm lying in bed in my second story bedroom, window facing a lake and sloping yard. It's an older house, built 1929, and it's very creaky with strange noises. Orange tabby on my bed, the wind blows and rain pounds against my window: I have no curtains and they're the kind that pull up, with a cord. Then a familiar sound comes from the tinny speakers:that of the creaky door, opening and slamming shut, clarinet, and two note trumpet signaling another story. "Good evening," anounces E.G.Marshall, and my imagination runs wild. Occasionally I fall asleep during Act III, but not often. This is a routine I repeated for years.😮
