It's when you can't find your phone!!!! and then the laugh at the other end of the line because the reason you can't find it is because you are talking on it lol 🤦

Maybe it's just my age but You've got to check out Like A Rock. Tore me up when I heard it 3 years ago as my youngest graduated from High School. Had heard it so many times before but after 20 years flies by and you wonder where they went...So Good!!
This song proceeds majestically, adding layer upon layer of instrumentation until it reaches the sublime. Seger's vocal expresses so much loneliness and yearning and it hits so deep.
This is off the album A Stranger in Town. This is all time favorite album of his. He has a lot of songs with his background singers. Hard to believe he has been in my life for 50 years Somewhere tonight Night Moves Turn The Page
THATS Little David Hood on bass. He's the only living member of the Legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section spent more time working with Bob than anyone else. The late Glenn Frey was next in line. Funny that 2 Wolverines would come to Alabama and make a TON of money making music!
I call Bob Segar a Rock & Soul kind of singer. He has a lot of soul and that's why people love his music so much. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It reminds me of the angst of my teenage years.
Many TV viewers associate it with a great scene from “The Wonder Years”. I love music so much that I have dozens of all-time favorite songs...but this will always be in the Top 25 of them all...right up there with Bobby Hatfield’s live “Unchained Melody” and other greats.
This is a beautifully constructed song. A classic in every way. Currently learning it on guitar even though it is primarily a piano song. The way he softens everything towards the end and then builds up a crescendo for the final chorus is brilliant. Great seeing someone listening to it for the first time and seeing their reaction 👍
Jay, You're going to get like my wife & I... "Hey! That's Bob! Turn it up!!!" :) I'd give you a dozen Seger song suggestions, but it's easier just to say "Listen to a Bob Seger song!" :)LOL(: You can't go wrong.
One of my very favorite artists. Never tire of listening to him no matter what he is singing. Every song is first class. Please, don’t wait another year to react to another one!
Yes and No...that is a bit of a common misconception about the song. It’s really more about two lonely people needing more and hoping to find. [Lets take a chance...Let’s find a way]...the “We’ve got tonight” is really the impetus for “take a chance”. If things don’t actually go further, they can at least enjoy the moment. “Both of us lonely” [so what do they really have to lose?]
Aaaaaaah MAN, couldn't believe my eyes, that u got around to listening to THAT GEM OF A SONG!!! I can not even come to know, just how many times I use to play that song on my stereo. I am sooooo obsessed w/that song & also Bob's voice singing it. Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton did pretty good covering it, BUT..... not if one already heard the original artist. NO ONE can sing that song like Bob Seger!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Txs for reacting to it! 👍👍👍👍👍
Saw him live about 6 yrs ago! What a great show. Still sounded the same.. He never lost that patented voice.. He just now retired from the concert world about a year ago. He entertained us for more than 5 decades.. A good ol' Michigan boy! ;-)
This is off Stranger in Town album. Whole album is great. My first Bob Seger concert I was 17. The lights dimmed, one spotlight on a grand piano and there he was playing and singing this song! It was incredible. I will never forget it.
Right when he starts the second verse with “deep in my soul” and the violins kick in; that’s my favorite part of the song. Most romantic song about a one night stand, ever lol.
This is like a variation on Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me”. Wistful. One of Bob’s best. The more hopeful song is “You’ll Accomp’ny Me”. Thanks J.
There is just no one else like him. So fortunate to see him many times back in the day. He was wonderful live! Live Bullet is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
Yes, Bob Seger has range! He is one of many who has an an impeccable voice in the rock and roll industry! I still love this song after these many years! 🎵 . Peace ✌☮
Bob Seger is such a great artist. "Turn The Page" could be a somewhat autobiographical story of life on the road as a musician, later covered by the late Australian artist Jon English and later still by Metallica - both fantastic renditions of an already awesome track.
@@wobblebottom101 The Late Pete Carr stole the show on "Main Street" with his amazing guitar work. Pete was also the Producer on that one. Bob and the Swampers had a great formula for success during that ten year run. When Barry Beckett and Bob left the little studio in Alabama and moved a hundred miles north to Nashville, they still made really good music but it lacked the Magic they had before.
I love how you react after every phrase in that first verse. Such power in that restraint, right? Very affecting, and effective. Love songs like this that have genuine expression, aren't over-produced or overdone. They're just honest, with great melodies, and a fantastic vocal performance.

Bob. An incredible writer/performer. Glad I had the chance to see him before he retired. There’s another tune you might be familiar with, but he only co-wrote: “Shakedown”. The music was written mostly by Harold Faltermeyer and Keith Forsey for the soundtrack of Beverly Hills Cop II. Bob Seger wrote the lyrics. The song became Bob Seger’s only number 1 single. It’s fantastic and highly recommend. “Shakedown”
Awesome...finally got to it 🙂 This song; Unchained Melody; If You Could Read My Mind [Gordon Lightfoot]...slow dance with your lady! One of the best ever...and always a favorite! He does so many types of songs...and they’re all super. The voice, the music, the feel...

Unbelievable. I haven’t heard this song for decades. This was the theme song for my senior 1979 Prom. Sooooooo many memories brought back from my beautiful date to just the entire evening!!!!! Music is such a touchstone!!!!! 😍 So says Austin Tx!!!!!!😎🍸
I'm with you there, my friend. I have always loved this song. It was covered a few years later by Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton and was a hit then as well. With all due respect to the talents of those singers, I've always been partial to Bob Seger's original version. So soulful. He conveys such weariness and loneliness in this song that it's just moving to me.

I have not listened to this in like 30 years. Yet, I knew and sang along with every word. Music and words that are timeless.
