I went for 1.2n which I'm glad after seeing it yourself and ReallyRee, ordered both to try just wish it would hurry up 😀 xx PS please do this makeup look including how you styled your hair xx
I finally got mine in the mail and I don't like it either. I got the same shade as you, but it is SOO yellow. If I just wear the foundation alone, I look like I have jaundice which is not right at all for a neutral shade. lol It's hard getting past the awful shade, so I'm not impressed. I've gone back to my wet n wild photofocus which has true neutral shades!!
Helen Lafferty wayne did a good job. I compared the giorgio luminous foundation for me coz it's the only one i have (i don't really wear foundation). Try comparing the brands that you have

Very excited to try these (well the coverage one, not really interested in the serum version.) Although I personally will wait for Beautylish to stock them to avoid the hassle of wait lists & shipping times. I think the color selection is awesome. The undertones make it so much easier to pick online. Although I'm kind of disappointed bc when I first heard of the "Coverage" version they hyped it up to be MASSIVELY full coverage so I had imagined it being like a Re-Marc-able or CoverFX, something like that. Guess not. But I do still want it. I hope Beautylish gets it soon :)
I don't like Chanel ... Velvet you mentioned. There's plenty of alcohol in it, so it ruins my skin. Can't wait for my the Ordinary serum foundation I ordered two weeks ago. I love their fluid primer, I guess that their foundation is not going to disappoint me.

Hi Ruth. Haven't watched your channel for awhile; you're looking really great BTW. I'm not sure why you said the Coverage foundation is comparable to L'Oréal True Match. The level of pigmentation and technology in these products is not what you'd find in any high street/ drug store make-up. The entire point of The Ordinary is affordable make-up and skin care of high-end quality. And for the most part, that's exactly what their products are.
It's very interesting to hear how you think they compare on the 'feel good' scale with the premium brands. Since I definitely do like the sound of super light, skin-evening products - I find Estee Lauder's EE cream a bit heavy to apply, but love the finish - I'm going to try one of the YGs I think. As you say, I can't really go wrong at that price.
I've pre-ordered both. I'm hoping 1.0N will be fair enough but after seeing you use 1.2 I'm a little worried. I feel like for the price if you're looking for more glow you can just use an illuminating primer with it. I have the l'oreal lumi magique primer that I use with anything that looks too flat, but I have oily skin so usually glowy for me means sliding off my face by lunch time so I generally look for less dewy products.

gillian beattie --Hi ☺️ Even though I prefer the coverage foundation, I wanted to find a way to be able to wear and like the Serum foundation. I tried a few things, but here's what I found works for me to get some longevity (I actually enjoy it now). I go in w/a combination of 2 primers (I do this occasionally w/other foundations too), & it helps w/longevity. After my skincare routine, I put on a decent amount of Rimmel's 'Stay Matte' primer, (let set for a minute or 2), then I add Dr. Brandt's 'Pores No More' (original - in gray tube). The combination of the mattifying primer with a good silicon primer just helps. You can probably use something else, but it's a combo of the Rimmel stay matte w/another good quality, silicone primer that makes this work. Good luck & hope you're able to find something that helps you to like it! 😊 -Allyson from Connecticut
Try a few different primers, and setting sprays. Sometimes that's all it comes down to. If it doesn't look well with the primer you're using, change it.
Is the serum foundation comparable to mac face and body at all? I love mac face and body because it doesn't settle into lines, looks invisible on my skin and just blends in such a natural way for me personally, I like the no make up make look, I'm hoping the serum foundation may be similar but it sounds like maybe not?
I think it is similar, check out Wayne Goss' video on the ordinary products, I think he mentions the Mac foundations and has a shade guide in the description of the video :)
yeah I saw his video but he did not mention mac face and body...the shade guide was phenomenal so very helpful...but for some reason, i feel this serum foundation might settle in fine lines idk i need to see more reviews. mac face and body is the only lightweight fluid foundation I have ever found that somehow doesn't settle in fine lines and smile lines it is spectacular in that sense!
I don't think that the serum has the coverage of face and body... I don't have one to hand at the moment, but from memory. I mean, every shoot I did, virtually, they used F&B, so I remember how it looked! x

I don't think it's the best foundation that I've ever seen on you. It is not skin-like luminous - which is my preferred look. Maybe the colour is not suiting you and there is no luminosity, I don't know - I can't put my finger on it, I just feel that I've seen better ones on you.
These ones really need a good primer underneath. As she said they really do seem to take on the properties of the product you used under them. I use the coverage one with one of their primers underneath and that really seems to help. They tend to make products to layer, even their skincare is the same, you pick the parts that suit your skin & then use them together to get a final "product' as it were.
Agreed- Ruth looks awesome without makeup, but the Chanel and L'Oreal really give a lift to her skin! I am just interested in day to day office wear with the Ordinary foundation.

Sarah Jane I ordered 5 at the end of March also, and received 3 a couple of day's ago.

Oh good. All my foundations are just a little too dark for me right now. I blend down my neck so I don't have a line but my chest looks really fair.

Truly, these foundations seem to be needlessly hyped up! They are nothing special compared to other good drugstore foundations.
