Absolutely elated to see this on here! Saw Lane 8 for the first time at the show in Forest Hills and it was one of my favorite shows to date. I came in solo from MD and just planned to meet people and vibe. Within 5 minutes I met some incredible people that I hung out with all show and will be meeting up with at Forest. I gotta say I think a big part of the energy was the elimination of phones. Without the need to be plugged in, you have to stay present with the music and people around you. I hope more artists in the EDM scene adopt this. Thank you so much Lane 8, Sultan + Shephard, Jerro, Massane, and Ocula for an unforgettable night. Much love! ❤
The Forest Hills show was immaculate. That was my first Lane 8 show and I wish it wasn't because I'm going to be chasing that high forever. Even worse that he's not coming back out East this year for a Summer Gatherings show. Jerro -> Massane -> S+S -> Lane was an absolute unbeatable vibe

S-Tier: Lane 8 - Rave (00:00). Insane opening track with real pump and bounce, starts the mix on a high-point. Sultan + Shepard - Neptune (07:04). A track that puts the 'progress' into 'progressive', and the gradual build pays off. Maybe the best track in an unbelievably strong first 18 minutes. Maybe the best track in the whole mix. Lane 8 & Kasablanca - Run (31:23). Now we're talking! The song that got me into Lane 8. The sounds, build ups and vocals are insane. A-Tier: Jerro & Forester - Breathless (11:31). A B-Tier song with S-Tier lyrics. Le Youth - Waves (27:34). Phenomenal track that brings feelings of joy tempered with nostalgia. The Ocula Remix is S-Tier, no one can change my mind. Lane 8 & Yotto - I/Y (35:04). I believe that almost everything Lane 8 touches turns into gold. Le Youth & Jerro - Lost (46:37). Beautiful lyrics and vocals accompanied by beautiful music. A wonderful track that makes you think back on falling in love. B-Tier: EMRZ - Light Falls (04:40). Sublime vocals and sound. Only B-Tier because it just can't compete with the preceding and proceeding tracks. Massane - 5am (15:15). Weakest track in the opening 18 minutes, but rounds it off nicely. Falden - Don't Wanna Know (57:55). Perfect closing song to the mix, with just the right tone and energy. The sort of track you hear in an upmarket poolside Koh Samui bar. C-Tier: Avoure - Floyd (39:06). It sounds decent but it just doesn't seem to go anywhere, and there's no payoff. Lane 8 - All I Want (54:15). Rare exception to Lane 8's Midas touch. It's not bad, not amazing. It's decent, and seems to fit nicely in the mix's closing tracks. D-Tier: OCULA & MAVICA - No Borders (23:12). Eh, it's fine. It's better than So High and gets us closer to Waves, so it's fine. EMBRZ - Higher Than Nirvana (51:00). Could've been B-Tier or even A-Tier if the vocalist hadn't chosen to sing out of her nose (rather than her mouth). E-Tier: Lexer - Paradise (43:00). About as glum as So High (see below). Sometimes I have this feeling that a song doesn't combine well with the vocals, and this is a prime example of this. F-Tier: Ashibah & BAKKA - So High (18:09). Actually E-Tier, but the disorienting transition from the previous track drops the tone like a tonne of bricks (in a bad way).
I've been listening to this a lot since it came out, probably my favorite mix so far. That said, was the ending purposely made to be so abrupt? Sounds like it cuts off
