If the government paid British officers more and the public showed them more respect then maybe they wouldn’t feel the need to move over

I was offered to transfer to the Royal Australian Air Force in the early 1990's. But due to being eldest son, with sick parents and younger brother, had to stay nearby. But wished I thought more about myself and rely on the then Tory state to look after them..

The Motherland and Australia have such a long and tight connection that our Police services are easy for British Constabulary to easily transfer here. Especially as our policing and common law is almost identical! 🇭🇲💙🇬🇧

I have family in Western Australia. I wasn't aware that Perth had a major problem with incidents of "hurty feelings". Police officers in WA have to deal with real crime!

Don't Australian police wear 'stab vests' as part of daily uniform ?

    • @Tysonliptay-nw3gj

    • @CÆSSIUS32

I think they need to wear the same as UK police uniforms.
Bring back all australian police wearing Peak caps on duty!

Seriously as an Aussie I have no desire to convince Brits or anyone else that Australia is better than their own country or that their police or other skilled workers should move here. Just because politicians think its a great idea to poach these people doesnt mean the general population does. Rather than this short term fix they should be investing more on education, training and improving the renumeration enough to attract young Australians. I have nothing against those who have decided to come here and I wish them well but I would rather that people base their decision to immigrate to Australia on more than just some carrot that is being dangled in front of them.. We are hurting NZs economy probably even more than the UK with these sort of short sighted recruitment drives. Its become like a ponzi scheme the more imigrants the government brings in to fix so called manning shortages the more we need to build the infrastructure and provide essential services its a never ending cycle - it might be growing the economy but its also dropping the living standards of those that sre already here..

It doesn’t matter where you move it’s still the same old job tactics that the met will use. Moving to Western Australia does not make you in any higher positions. And Western Australia may not want evil hypocrites of the met to disgrace their force. And if the met is that high in itself why doesn’t it get paid a better salary of £100,000

Have you seen the cost of goods in Australia? To compare wages isn't helpful.

    • @jujutrini8412
      @jujutrini8412 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn’t just look at an increase in wages but the cost of living in the new place. Can I get the same standard of car, house, food, healthcare, insurance, transport, etc for my new wage. It’s stupid to just look at the stark number “ooh I can £10,000 more” if you end up paying more for everything you absolutely have to pay for to enjoy life.

Pathetic that the Govt is importing coppers. Don’t we have enough here in Oz. I’m sure we could have enough trainers homegrown rather than importing even MORE migrants when our housing is already in dire straits snd getting worse by the day. This govt obviously has no idea how to run this country😮

It is in Western AUZ, I was told that your country has problems populating that state. They have to rely on immigration. If nobody wasn't to move from NSW what are they supposed to do? My family was just there in WA and said it was lovely but there was hardly any people for community. This is your country being very smart running your country.

It's all to do with the level of educations a person has that get's them into the Police Force, not their heart's desire to assist and protect the public.

I have lived in both countries. And Australia has some racism and prejudice. Over all, they are welcoming and easy going.
Now, let’s look at the rhetoric around immigration and the number of people of colour we see here, and the out and out malice that is spewed.
I never saw the level of hate in Australia as we have here.

Britain made modern day Australia 😅.

    • @Davo-i1s

@@jacobs3031 certainly did especially in WW2 when Winston Churchill made Australia realise it was no longer a part of Britain and that we would have to face the Japanese on our door step by ourselves. Australia immediately gravitated away from Britain and more towards the US especially militarily and we have been doing that ever since. The last real tie we have with Britain is the Monarchy and I'm sure that if we ever we find a republican model that is better than our current system then the Monarchy will be assigned to the pages of history as well .. The only ones who really push the idea that Australia is still somehow closely linked to Britain are those either of recent British origin or those who still have family there and that percentage of the population gets more diluted every year. There maybe 1,2 million people living here that were born in Britain but the UK is no longer our biggest source of immigration.
