I'm in the middle of this video and I cannot wait to comment: what an interesting testimony, what a nice, professional interviewer. And I've seen by now 50-100 of these testimonies. Most important, he does not forget to point out the people who helped. Such a noble act. Most of people who give their testimonies here don't even remember the names of people who helped.
I have listened to many testimonies because of my interest in this period of history. What is notable is that they are such different experiences and the people are so different. And I have come to realize that some people tell a good story and some don’t. This person is among the better story tellers and I like his having no hesitation to say he was treated well when he was. And I agree that the interviewer is one of the best. Too many have agendas and try to guide the speaker to illustrate those agendas. This one follows the speaker nicely.
A little bit lengthy and too detiled (partly due to the interviewer) but still interesting, particularly regarding "average Germans" during the war. A highly intelligent and symphatetic man.
It is astonishing how many father- and mother-relationships Peter had. Father-figures: his real father, Onkel Franz-father, his mothers first husband, his older brother somehow also a father-figure, Mr Flatow, and mother-figures: his real mother, his step-mother of his father's second marriage, Mrs Flattow. Isn't that amazing?
I'm trying to think of the ladies name but she was able to take 8 or 9 suitcases and her 🚲 her mother pack her wedding trousseau just incase. Can you imagine heartbreaking. The British government allowed 10k children to come many became maids and were treated as such. I remember her mother did survive and went to to London however the lady who she became the maid. and took care of the 2 year old who stayed in touch with each other ❤
Understand how sad he must have felt in the UK. They are always so 'cheerful' about nothing whilst other countries are in a desperate situation. It is STILL like that. The fake superficial attitude towards heavy things! Yes actually the English are unfeeling, still are.
This one is lengthy because it focuses more on Peter's life/family than the war. He has a lot to tell, so it was worth listening to. SALUTE Peter!

What a balanced and insightful human being Peter Prager is !
What an eloquent and dignified man. So interesting to hear his story.
Everyone always complains about the interviewer, but this lady is fantastic....!

Thank you sir for your testimony
Such a sad time in our history
God bless x
Great interview! I am happy Peter made his point on mixed marriages in Nazi Germany - I wish there were more testimonies from those people.
Yes, I enjoyed that part also.
Best interview ever!
