I'm so glad to see Sky out there again. "Night Time, My Time" was a big deal to me when I was in college and it's been in constant rotation for me for over a decade now. I am a big fan of her and her music. I finally got to see her live (front row no less) this past September and she was fantastic. Godspeed to Ms. Ferreira.
I actually had a chance to see her live when I was 16 (I didn't have a legal guardian with me that night so I was lucky they even let me in lol). That concert was fantastic too ^^
So happy she’s able to put out creative work on her own terms now! Its been a long journey but she persevered and we couldn’t be more proud! Much love SKY!! 🩵🩵🩵💛💙💙💙💚🤍💙🧡🩷❣️
I love Sky so much, she’s so unique she has amazing music, this story makes me livid as someone who puts money into physical albums (Sky included) we are the important consumer and we want OUR artists to be happy, Sky is independent now her career is now hers!
I agree! It makes me mad more of Sky's amazing discography isn't available physically - I have Night Time, My Time on vinyl which I'm SO grateful for but I'd love all of her amazing EPs to be pressed too - I believe years ago Sky even tried to make this happend but was blocked by the powers that be.
Most artists would have bowed out of the game 8 years ago due to all of the BS in the music industry. It's not that Sky doesn't know when to quit, I don't think she knows how to quit or that she was supposed to have quit 8 years ago. This is uncharted ground for the labels. They don't know how to deal with someone who refuses to stop making incredible music with a dedicated fanbase that supports her all the way. Add to that her endearing authenticity that many people can relate to.
Well, she sure hit the nail on the head about schmoozers in the industry...there are too many people working in the industry who lack the musical background and the know-how...it shows in each year's turn-out. Fortunately, Sky found the right (qualified) people to help her get back on track. 😊
0:42-0:44 she never lost her dorky nervous laugh. She has another interview where shes album shopping and has a simliar nervous quirk, and I've always thought it was cool.
She CAN make a great song in just TWO weeks! It's never been about her, it's Capitol that should be blamed. They shelved Masochism, and earlier Wild at Heart and Cry Baby. I hope Sky recovers rights to the unreleased material and we'll get to hear it all!
you are talking about a genius of magnitudes that are greater than you can begin to understand. Popular artists with grand vision and impact on the very culture you exist within have been positively and intrinsically impacted by Sky Ferreira’s art and her existence. Not only has she proven her lyrical and vocal abilities with her atmospheric, esoteric, and deeply relatable songs, but her lightning-in-a-bottle retro aesthetic and unique style has left a mark that transcends whatever shallow impression some people gleam from watching one interview of her. It is her art and creative mind that define Sky as a genius, not a one sided perception of her from a video interview. Please don’t insult an artist for not seeming “lucid”, Sky’s chill yet unqiue personality is only a result of her artistic greatness. Sometimes when you’re amazing at one thing (art) you’re not going to be seen as perfect in other ways (like totally unnatural human interactions like INTERVIEWS).

2:31-2:34 sky had a simlair situation with the green inferno. Her song "I will" was 1 of 2 songs on tbe movie and it was great.
Phenomenal song!! Cant get the lyrics and tune out of my head!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love her voice.
Omg thank you so much for this I wish you would have asked about masochism but thank you for this regardless
10:06 is probably a hint into that. She expresses how she was trapped. Now she isnt.

@@Jeremy-qh9iqI must be "relatively lucid" bc I see nothing unusual with her in this interview. Lol
