You’ve inspired me and my dad and my grandad and we now have a golf green in my front yard (more like a golf brown) but it’s starting out slow and hopefully will be puttable by summer
Great stuff Ben. Yes, hit a shot in, but make sure you hit the green! Then you can show us how to repair a plug mark - and we can see how long it takes to grow out. Maybe a test against an unprepared plug mark?
Wow that's looking good.....I also only just realised those bars sticking out from the side of the mower are for rubber wheels to transport it about 😂😂 10.17
Don’t damage it by hitting golf balls into it you mad man!!😂 that’s looking so good I look forward to these updates just to see how a golf green on other side of the world is coming along!! Great work
Thanks for the Kikuyu update! Good to know it's not too late for a pre-emergent spray. Am in SW Sydney so similar temps to your place at this stage. Still learning how to look after a lawn after many years of apartment living so loving the vids (and both the plan and products I bought from you).
Looking great, it's crazy how much it will fill in with only 2 weeks of growing. My kentucky bluegrass is filling in like crazy too from the snow mold damage.
Looking good bro and that broom will make it so much easier been twice the size, the bowling green in my town is hopeless the greenskeeper doesnt really look after it at all unless it's for a tournament so social bowls is always so hit and miss
Looking good Ben, just looking at your turn technique disengaging the clutch. Its much easier to throttle down coming to your turn using the big red throttle lever, pretty sure its design is for that reason anyhow that's how i use mine. Blue patches of death happen so quick with Bent
Just curious if you've thought about doing any plugging on the bent? I do see it as a potential to ruin any level you might have. Not sure how solid of a core you would get with it being sand and just how deep the roots are to hold it all together.
Id say its ready for some shots in. However something i wanna mention to just check that you know about before your green might react badly to like last time. With your height of cut are you adjusting your height with taking consideration the height of your bottom blade, because competition blades make a difference from 0.25mm-0.50mm but other bottom blades can be up to 1.5mm height difference so just wanna mention it.

Yo dude been with you a long time. I still don’t know what your listening to? The green looks fantastic and your doing a great job. But what are you listening to? 😁✌️❤️🤘
Great video Ben!! Always enjoy watching your vids I have learnt a lot myself watching them. Quick question regarding the dew, is the bent grass to young to consider spraying an anti dew product on it to prevent the dew from forming? Cheers
For sure hit into the green and you can show us how to fix pitch marks and monitor how long it takes to repair, and hit another one and don’t fix it and show us the difference fixing pitch marks makes
@Lawn Tips top shelf. Didn't see it in your setup but was going to suggest getting a .001" and .002" feeler gauge. Saw you cutting paper. Glad to here you like the Deere!

It’s hard to believe how quick it is growing.

Schniddy! ❤
Great vid as usual mate 👍🏻
Been watching this build for many months
Congratulations, the hard work is now paying off the green is looking gr
The stimpmeter test was interesting, please keep doing that whenever you make change to the green.
11:31 yes sir! Looking smooooth 👌
HAHA that dew brush is wild! Loving how things are coming together.
Greta vid as always. Great to see the kikuyu still looking mint.
Greens looking amazing the hand mower always looks better than a triple mower 👍

Good god! That green has filled in so fast.
Imagine the first shot in goes in. That would, go viral!
Yes hit a shot into it mate!!
Looking great, it's crazy how much it will fill in with only 2 weeks of growing. My kentucky bluegrass is filling in like crazy too from the snow mold damage.
The green is beautiful 😍
Hit a shot into it! Can’t believe you haven’t already
Definitely need to see a shot!
Looking so good man!
Hold on one😂😂 the pond does not count!! Joking, it’s looking awesome 👋👋
Almost time for the next project mate. Coming along very nice
You're a magician. Wish I knew half of what you know about turf (and my yard is considered nice)
Would like to see some LiDAR imaging of the green to get a good idea of that slope.
I’m more impressed at how nice your kikuyu is looking… and that’s with you “neglecting” it 😅

A+ on the stimpmeter
Great vid Ben. Enjoyed the longer vid 👍🏼
The Grange for LIV Golf running at 13 on final day
Great job
What kind of grass on green, sire
Hey mate, some bentgrass 👌🏽
Love it man!

We think alike, but I'm not as professional as you, LOL. how are you doing these days?

@@JessePlumGD yeh i do
Looks great! Needs some pitch marks to build character.😅
You put down some clean lines. Do you do clean up passes around the edge of the green at a higher cut?
"just one shot" said no golfer ever
Just tap it in, tap tap tappy...
Hit a shot into it 👊
A shot in from where each tee box will be? Give us a teaser 😂😂😂
Hit into the green next week! No edits of how many times you missed😂
sod wall bunker? maybe too extravagant...
You need to hit about 100 shots in to it. Do a hole in one challenge.
Can you tell us about your mower with a bit of detail? Why the JD and not the toro? Is JD better for some reason? Is it an SL?
Fairway next 😉
What weight of roller are you using? Is there a minimum weight you'd suggest to use?
Is HOC measured to the cutting edge or the underside of the bottom blade? I could have been cutting shorter than I thought
Cutting edge
@@flytrout5514 that's what I thought but now what he said
How hot are your summers in orange? I live in California and would love a putting green but with 110 degree (F) summers I’m not sure it would survive
It can survive if you can survive keeping it cool and moist with water every couple of hours during the day
Yo dude been with you a long time. I still don’t know what your listening to? The green looks fantastic and your doing a great job. But what are you listening to? 😁✌️❤️🤘
Looking smicko mate & leave hitting any balls on it until it’s a little more healthy & recovered
My lawn runs at about 0.1-0.2 on the stimp.
Great video Ben!! Always enjoy watching your vids I have learnt a lot myself watching them. Quick question regarding the dew, is the bent grass to young to consider spraying an anti dew product on it to prevent the dew from forming? Cheers
Seems like he's putting fert down every day!

Just do it you know you want too.
Do it !!!!!
How quick is a green on something like Augusta ?
How long does it take to mow the green?
Hey Ben, how much nitrogen do you give the green per week? Is it different throughout the year or do you always give it the same amount? Thanks.
Hold off on the shot to the green
Take the shot. If you are anything like me, you won’t hit the green and it will go into the pond. No damage!
Are you running clearance on your reel to bed knife?
You know it. Have a feeler gauge to help with that
@Lawn Tips top shelf. Didn't see it in your setup but was going to suggest getting a .001" and .002" feeler gauge. Saw you cutting paper. Glad to here you like the Deere!
Personally, I would wait. But hey, it’s your baby.
Hit a shot!!!
Mils and ferts
Mate you don’t want it any quicker than that unless you like snapping putters 😂😂
Legend
Send it⛳ How about a hole in 1 first shot🎉
sweeeet
Take the shot.
Looks great. I would have already hit a dozen balls.
Get the wedge out. Hole in one time
The fact you haven't hit a shot into it might mean you're a Buddhist monk with that self restraint.
👍⛳️🏌♂️
What's your handicap?
@lawntips
if you did will you buy us all a drink
Send it to 4mm
60
Massive flop
Not over the house anymore 😢
Is it annoying for lawn keepers at golf courses to see how their lovely lawns are destroyed by golf players?
first
This makes my lawn look like it’s on meth.
