Here watching old tape as Kon Knueppel has been nursing up draft boards in the preseason. What impressed me most about Knueppel here is that he’s thinking ahead. A shot is missed on one end and not only does he have the timing and spatial awareness to grab the rebound, but he’s already picked out an outlet pass recipient whose barely begun to leak out. He’s a play ahead, 2 steps ahead on what he needs to be doing, and he seems to have the coordination and skill to complete the action. That’s pretty special. Downside is that I’ve seen him listed as tall as 6’7”, but from what I’ve seen, including here, I’m not sure I believe the people who say he’s 6’5”. He is stocky, which can make things harder to judge when most of the other teenage athletes around him are wiry, and he does his best not to play upright when he has the ball. Both of those factors are positives in all other contexts than judging his height via my phone screen, so I’m still open to the idea that I just haven’t seen him from the right angle yet. His processing speed, shooting, and playmaking are enough to take him to the NBA, but I’ll feel more optimistic about his ceiling there when there’s confirmation he’s got good positional size to balance out his foot speed and explosiveness.
@@kinstonknueppel9739 i go to duke. He's gonna sit on the bench for two years and then transfer. Plus he plays shitty comp so his record doesn't really mean much
Future teammates and future NCAA champs! GO DUKE!
Kon looks like the 30 year old guy in men's league that played D1. He's more athletic than he looks and he is always just making the right plays.
Reminds me of Austin Reaves
I didn't realize he was an elite-level passer.
@@sidviscous5959 He's not flashy but he just makes the right passes. also, awesome name.
