    Great Job! I am a recent subscriber.
    You say you personally answer every comment. Let's see if you answer this one.
    Question? But before the question, I'd like to say thank you for your video content on Lean. I've learned a lot from your videos. You are very good at producing some quality content, in which you educate your viewers on Lean and other construction principles. Again, THANK YOU!
    I have a question, but it's also a challenge.
    Q: How do you implement "Lean" on very small scale projects? I will paint a scenario for you, and I'd like to hear your recommendation for implementing Lean. As part of the challenge, saying the following are not options: 1) "You can't;" 2) "It won't work;" 3) "It won't have significant benefits." What I would like to hear will incorporate the following: 1) Describe how to implement it; 2) Describe the benefits & significance for using Lean in this scenario. I can think of a few, but I would like to hear yours.
    Scenario:
    Background:
    The company I work for (We will call it "Construct") handles many different types of projects ranging from building multi story commercial structures from the ground up to small TIs to very small projects at remote locations (high in the mountain tops) which typically are self-perform only that might last only a couple of days. Construct has recently introduced Lean Construction to its employees. They brought in Joe Donarumo & Keyan Zandy to lead a seminar on bringing Lean to Contruct. This was last year. Our CEO has mandated that all our personnel will be fully implementing Lean on ALL our projects by a certain date this year.
    Resistance:
    Naturally, any time there is change, there is push-back (especially on smaller projects): "Our project is too small!" Or "Our project is too remote!" Or "We don't have the room to bring these boards to our small, remote projects!"
    The Sample Project:
    We are to swap out a couple of exterior doors and repair some dry-rot on the exterior of the building at a remote, secluded mountain top site (about a five-hour drive away). It is scheduled to take two days for two workers.
    The Challenge:
    Can you (being the expert) come up with a realistic, viable solution to effectively implement Lean on such a project? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this and how Lean can be beneficial in this scenario.
    I appreciate your efforts and your time.
    Bob

    Hey!
    I'm currently writing a bachelor thesis on lean construction, especially on the differentation of the application of lean construction in different construction sectors (for example, building construction, street construction, bridge construction, tunnel construction and engineering construction).
    Have you made any experience on this topic you can share or how do you see this topic?
    I would be glad if you leave a comment!
    With kind regards

    Hey Jason, Im about to start a superintendent job for the first time. Ive been a manager is construction with smaller teams, 8-10 trades persons for about 6 years however never at the scale im about to have the responsibility for 40-50 trades persons and I am feeling a bit nervous about it. What advice can you offer to help me get started down the right path?

    • @jasonwilliamschroeder
      @jasonwilliamschroeder  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In all seriousness, I would sketch out a great schedule, pull plan every sequence, do a quality Pre-con meeting for all new scopes, and keep looking ahead 6 weeks to make work ready and remove roadblocks. And I would hunker down and read the drawings, spend time in the schedule, and do a job walk every day.

    Hello sir..
    How can we measure lean construction?
    If so on which mode we measure it??

    • @jasonwilliamschroeder
      @jasonwilliamschroeder  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can measure lean by whether or not you are improving your operations in a real way with the people closest to the work.

    Do you have any idea if lean comstruction would be a viable topic for a thesis for undergrad civil engineering degree? If so, what would be the nature of resource, what should we investigate more or where should we compare lean construction?

    Sir let me know different between value engineering and lean construction.

    • @sauravayyagari9535
      @sauravayyagari9535 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am still a beginner, but I think that sometimes even if operations appear superficially similar, value engineering derives profit/value where lean construction foremostly integrates respect into communication then resources. Ex: continuously improving a stable delivery schedule helps both save workers' time and transportations cost. Value engineering might be as small as printing the weekly gannt chart in the field office, but lean thinking would be to effectively communicate that at different scopes with digestible visuals for all workers and even clients. Though value engineering also values social factors it is only at best equal to all other conditions of the site and objectives. Whereas lean construction prioritizes a holistic operation even after the product is delivered as suggested in @LeanBuilt 's follow up video th-cam.com/video/Oyt4IA-231g/w-d-xo.html.
