I remember flying this flight path in November 2001. It was absolutely beautiful in the afternoon winter dusk/sun, but eerie as it was the first time I had flown it in from Tokyo, and being only a few months after 9/11 I was beginning to feel a little worried.
I remember the first time I landed at London Heathrow . my late mother worked there in the early 1960's. my Mum grew up in Hounslow . as a NZer with brit heritage to think the first place I landed on British soil was my late mother's ex workplace is quite mindblowing :) . I guess it was written in the stars for me indeed by Mum
Either that's an extremely smooth landing or the camera is fixed really well to something solid because I couldn't tell when it landed. Either or is a good outcome!
The Thames in London is tidal, part of the estuary, effectively part of the sea. The "murk" you see is natural silt. The river is actually pretty clean.
@@EvelynnLandrum It is in London :) - it's in the London Borough of Hillingdon, the largest of London's boroughs which extends across it's western edge. Gatwick and Stansted are not in London (in Sussex and Essex, respectively). Also, for the river, as posted it's just very silty/sandy - the river is now a haven for wildlife again, including 120 species of fish (salmon and seahorses included), birds, seals and porpoises in the wider estuary.
@dgse83 Wow! Thanks for that awesome reply. I noticed the LHR airports are scattered about in different cities, too! Drayton, Longford, Hounslow...LOL 🏴 What a great place!
Smoothest of landings, felt I was on the plane as well. Can anyone explain how to read the mph dial as it increases the mileage as it gets nearer the airport but is not the total distance flown ?
The city of London itself is very small, what you are seeing from the fly-over is all the commuter towns and villages of Greater London which have all merged into an urban sprawl with occasional pockets of green space.
One flight into LHR the plane was held in a holding pattern over Greenwich and seeing a circus big top. Plus my boat moored at Royal Albert Dock, sadly I didn't have my camera to hand. There so much green space in London I'm sure Londoners don't know just how much there is.
Being of the older generation my trips onboard a plane are no longer viable. I once took a trip from London to Edinburgh and spent the majority of the flight in the bathroom. My bladder is not what it once was and my urine output on that day ? Well I am certain the poor pilot had to keep lifting the nose of the aircraft to compensate.
The landing was so butter that I didn't hear when it touched
One of my fav approaches in the world. Love those views of London.
What a lovely way to end a flight! Wonderful views of London 💕
perfect touchdown... congrats to the crew
Great video 👍 that approach never gets old, butter landing 👍

I live under the flight paths from Heathrow, it's great to see my area from above - you even flew over my beloved Fulham FC. Thanks for sharing!
Brentford>>
FFC is what I use as a marker when flying in from abroad 😃
You live nearby to me
You welcome
I only saw Stamford Bridge

one of my favourite landings is at Heathrow , if you lucky to seat on the right hand window seat on a clear day, its truly a majestic sight

I really miss flying this year this bloody covid
Technically we can still fly

Great landing!!!
Great vid. Made me sad to see all those poor 747s, though.
Amazing view!
Great views! Always enjoy landing at LHR and turning above the city in 2000-3000ft. LOVE LHR!
Yes it's good

Thank you 😊
1:55..............AERIAL VIEW OF HYDE PARK CORNER, GREEN PARK, THAMES RIVER..BEAUTIFUL

Cool video!
Wow! That river is soooooo murky. 😬
Lovely video. Hope to be on the jet this coming February.

@Matthew-ut6ed 👍 Awesome to know. Thanks so much! Here's another mystery I learned: Heathrow is not in London! 😂

Great video 👍 Where did you fly from?
The smoothest landing! This is an ASMR video! Great viewing :)
Nice Video.
Hola good video
Cool ! Even better than Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Smoothest of landings, felt I was on the plane as well. Can anyone explain how to read the mph dial as it increases the mileage as it gets nearer the airport but is not the total distance flown ?
Just resets everytime the clip is segmented. If i do it in 4k the file is 8 minutes. HD about 17 minutes. counts the miles flown on each clip
Worldaviation 4K understood, thnx !
How do you get the speed and altitude on the screen ? Looks great 👍
Very nice.
what program/app are you using to get the speed and altitude? is it off a go pro?
Cool video passing a parked up Concorde rotting away 😢
Hello I love the landing …. How did you add the speed alt etc on your video ???
Go pro did it thanks
Excellent
What a wiew!
which app do you use to show speed & other details in the video?
Hello, what GoPro did you use in this video? Thanks
what is the thing to measure the speed and the altitude on screen?
Paula...I like that sound
Class
I forget how utterly massive London is, must be the biggest city in the world
aparently its tokyo in terms of size

@@adamlea6339 its more then 600 square miles and last time i checked. Thats pretty huge
Tokyo is far bigger
Im flying in from Newark to Heathrow this May.
Planning to do this trip later in the year.
Stamford bridge- home to the best football club in London at 3:13
Well, last year anyway. Fulham are back up though! lol Interesting to see how close they are to Fulham at 3:30
I can almost see the knives from up there 😂😂😂
The Shard :)
What kind of App are you using?
if its the gps it was gopro
Awesome so missed flying this year! Bloody covid! ✈️✈️
absolutely
Is this the new Microsoft flight sim i keep hearing about?
That brown river though, YUK💩 Ello, I'm poo, I live there.
what side of the plane is this filmed out?
Well, unless they made the approach and landing in reverse, I'm guessing the right-hand side?
👍

I notice people are asking what app you are using to display the information, but you don't seem to answer their messages?
he did, go up and check @FlyinMilan's comment.
Not many of us will see this sight again.
Me neither and it's my country, i'm trying to stay away.
hi siir from India 🇮🇳😇 delhi 👍🍔😔

2:30 right over my house!
I fly every year
speedometer is way off! Great video though.
Its by gps
200+feet in the air whilst on the runway???
It's pressure altitude rather than height above ground - Heathrow is about 200ft above sea level.
Zero G?
I like Liverpool fc
That's how to do a landing.
Очень жаль, что это снято на широкоугольную камеру:( из-за этого виды искажены
