Don’t ever get jealous over anything but the day you’ve had looking around Mr Firbys Olly is as an enjoyable day as most of us watching could ever wish for and really would have throughly enjoyed. Many thanks for letting us watch on a wet and miserable Saturday evening and I really bet you’ve had the WANT’S as bad as everyone watching. Many thanks for filming and blogging and that big JD artic knocks your black fendt right off the cool wall as there’s a new leader at SUB ZERO 👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰
the first tractor i drove was an international 955 2 wheel drive when i was 11 years old back in 1981. love the quad track had a go in one at an open day at a local dealer many years ago. first combine i drove was a new holland 8070. loving the blogs great to see whats changed in farming having left in 1999/
We have an old 955 2 wheel drive sat feeling sorry for itself in our yard been sat there that long a small tree has grown around it also with a 965xl sat in the field behind it wittering away aswell
Olly, That was a terrific video I’ve never seen such a collection of which the favourite had to be one of the quad tracks. I think if I had to choose a favourite it would be the Steiger. But they’re all such terrific machines to see. I took my granddaughter to the Alresford Show a couple of years ago when she had just turned 4 years old and she was fascinated by the size of some of the tractors on display. She could stand on the rims and she would just! fill the rim of the rear tyres!! She was also allowed to get into the cab and look at the screens and levers etc. She spent a lot of time and between me and a local farmer who kindly explained what everything did she learnt a lot that day. Sadly due to COVID the show hasn’t been on for the last two years maybe next year 🤞. By the time the next show is seen our second granddaughter will be a rising 4 year old so she will be able to see everything and I’m looking forward to taking them both. I’m not a farmer but have always had an interest as I grew up on a farm but now all I have is a 1/32 scale model farm which I made to illustrate the development of tractors for which I used what’s now AGCO but was of course originally Massey Harris and Ferguson. Evie the older granddaughter always asks if she can see the farm please granddad! She just looks and then the questions start! I really enjoy the time I spend with her. Maybe one day she will be a farmer oh and she has just been to stay with friends and ridden one of their ponies.
What a place that was!! Talk about being a kid in a sweet shop!! Wow - I should think you would need some serious money behind you to go shopping there!! Stunning video Olly. 👍🚜👏✊
For me that was by far your best video Olly, never get bored of classics. That quadtrac would look great around our area. The TW,s were just great to drive,( just ask Gordon) plenty of poke. Thanks Olly
My grandad used to run 2 1455’s and a 956 back in the day, apart from the odd battery and oil changes they never put a foot wrong. Do love these classics proper nostalgia 👍🏻👍🏻
Tw35 and a class dominator brought back memories of working with my grandad 👍 Another great video olly, looking forward to seeing the rest of the yard tomorrow 👌
Hi Olly that was very enjoyable video this evening The New Holland tx and the Case Q track looked great 👍 just looking at all that gear in the yard But all the video s you do are very good 👍
That shed holds so many memories for me! My favourite combine in there has to be the New Holland TX36. Sat in a brand new one as a very young boy back in the late 80's and that combine worked on the same farm till last year. A TX36 was also the first combine I ever drove. I have no words for the STX440. I drove a brand new one for the summer/autumn of 2001. Absolute animal of a tractor and soon covered the acres with a 6m Simba Solo and 6.6m Simba Culti-press tillage train behind it (all up it was at least 70ft nose to tail). Also drove a Case IH Maxxum back in 97 and 98 though it was a 5150. Great engine and superb lugging tractor but it would bounce you out of the seat for a hobby 🤣🤣 You need an STX440 in your life, so I hope you did a deal!!!
That Case 440 is an Amazing Tractor to have 4 Trac that is. And even a John Deere Trac is awesome to have as well for Rainy and Muddy Fields. Good Luck on the Hunt Olly
We had a DB1410. Had the sweetest sounding exhaust of any 4 cylinder. Lovely whistle on throttle but awesome when working hard. Uncle had a 7600 4wd opened up to 135 horses... Extra 30% plenty of smoke and snort
I used to love those maxunms when they first came out. I can also remember GFP from Lincolnshire used to run a fleet off those MB tracs with loaders on and definitely loved that quad trac in the shed. Cracking video.
Favourite combine is the TX, we have a tx34 and it's a great combine for what we do, only trouble with them tx36's is (I think) there 13feet wide so a real nightmare to get round the roads for the size of combine if that makes sence, favourite tractor is that john deere crawler absolute beast of a thing😍 very lucky to look round such a incredible yard.
That big John Deere looks and sounds amazing. I would love it but have no purpose for it. I enjoy browsing Richard Firbys website. I once spoke to him when we were trading a combine in. A really sound guy. It's on my bucket list to visit his yard. Would rather visit there than go to lamma and see new stuff.
Would be a good investment. Its a bit cliched but they don't make them like they used to. I want to buy a car as a toy/Investment but wife won't let me!🤦♂️😅
Having just driven a NH TX 34 for last part of our harvest I'd say favourite combine in the shed is the NH TX 36. We now have just bought a NH TX 62 for next year's harvest so can't wait for that🙂. Never understood why they'd build a sprayer with a forward boom, you don't want to be driving thought a sprayed crop! And that's why I always spray headlands last. As usual another great video and you have them at the right length. I watch some video's that are 25/30 mins long and that's too long in my opinion. Keep up the good work. Sam
Definitely the case quad trac. Normally watch from Edinburgh but up above the artic circle in Norway 🇳🇴 working for a few weeks. Glad I have you tube as I can’t understand any of the tv channels 🤣🤣🤣👍
Has to be the dominator, show my age now , this was the combine we aspired to, and eventually got one to replace the matador I drove for 6 years. I know it was a long time ago, but neighbouring farmers were using a tractor towed , bagging combine. Loved it as when we'd finished just took trailers in. They had to go out with a trailer to collect the sacks of corn in, bet them to pub.
Cracking video as always Olly. Open day with coffee cakes and tractors sounds great. Was having a good day until I just found out about the passing of a former work colleague who used to drive a 9370 quadtrac. So only feeling 10% now.
Classics and coffee Olly, get er opened. I’d be over from Ireland to see it. Might even rent out Brooke House for the weekend. Great videos mate. Keep up the good work!👍🏻
Remember the film Cocktail- cocktails and dreams? How about Tractors and Dreams. Would love a JD artic! Spent many hours on a TW25 and my uncle had a Ford 9700 which became the TW30. Brilliant tractors .
Great video Olly and I bet u where in heaven. Brings back so many good memories of the TW, it certainly was tricky getting out of junctions and changing gears so many times in a 12 hour day, your left leg new it had been in a work out 😂😂
1st tractor I ever drove as a 7 or 8 yr old was a David Brown 885 & a 4 tonne Wheatley trailer carting beet off a Standen Mk1 beet harvester, brilliant memories.
Great video Oly as usual Really enjoyed seeing “vintage” tractors It was good to see 8850 pulling subsoiler as I used to work for Tim Howard who made the (best) subsoiller and a farm I worked on in Lincs in the late 80’s had an 8850 All the best from Ed the spud farmer in south Australia 👍🇦🇺
Hey Olly get your purse out, the Quadtrac is a must for the coffee shop. Mount it on a plinth on a slope with flood lights like they do with airplanes outside RAF/Navy bases. Few quids worth of tackle in that yard. very interesting as usuall, thanks.
Lexion 600tt were an unreal machine.Farm I worked on moved up to a 600 from a 480 evolution.9 meter header was great.Biggest combine around .Running two lexion 7700tts now

The comment about tge length of the bonnet was so true, add in the front mounted plough and it made road moves very interesting 😂 Happy days.
If you parked the TW next to a lwb TM they are within a hairs breadth the same length. It just shows how far forward the cabs have been moved on more modern tractors.
