Last fall was my first experience with any Hornady rifle bullet. I used 175 ELDX from Hornady and Federal and the 180ELDM in Hornady. All performed as well as any other hunting bullet on multiple deer from PBR to 235 yards. That's my very limited experience.
Federal Terminal Ascent groups the best out of my Bergara in 7mm PRC and the more I use it and more data I see, the more I’m impressed with it. Would be more impressed if the price dropped! 😂
That's quick! I haven't chronographed the TA out of my 7 PRC yet but from what I've heard Federal is normally pretty good at getting close to box velocity.
You should clean all copper fouling from your barrel before testing all copper bullets. The jacket material is different from mono bullets and doesn’t layer/mix well in the barrel and will affect the accuracy.
@@mike.hardy37 Historically, Remington has used Hornady bullets but used green tips in place of red tips for several of their factory ammo. Remington bought Barnes bullets, then sold them to Sierra in 2020 during bankruptcy. The CuT ammo 7PRC 160 grain is likely the Hornady CX bullet. That said, Barnes is soon to release their 7PRC Vortex ammo with a 160 gr bullet. My hunch is Rem is using Hornady bullets though. Their old Accutip is an SST bullet.
Federal's bullets and ammo are top tier, as far as off the shelf! Their customer service is also top tier. I just purchased a box of 7 rem mag terminal ascent. Two shoulders had creases in them. Still shootable. I emailed them, stating that I wasn't looking for free ammo, I just wanted to let them know what was going on in that lot so they could make corrections if needed. Later that same day they returned my email and told me they're sending a full box of terminal ascent!
7:36 - federal terminal ascent
11:02- hornady precision hunter eldx
14:08 - bullet inspection
I'm surprised the ELD-X held together. Nice video!
Yeah most of what I've seen online showed it falling apart. Thanks, glad you liked it!
Randy Shelby says you are unethical killing that paper with a eldx
Haha tell Randy that it was feral paper that my family needed to get rid of!

@derekmcmurry From everything I've heard people either love or hate the eldx. So fare I'm skeptical of it but I've only had good results as well.

Yeah they are expensive for sure!
Good video. More 7PRC test!
More coming. Another video came out last Friday and the next one this Friday!
@@mike.hardy37nice. Liked and subscribed
The 130 terminal ascent 6.5 PRC is running 3150-3180 in my 24 inch Bergara. Box velocity is 3000.

Yeah I learned that earlier this year. I didn't believe it until I tried it myself
Any of the bonded bullets or copper bullets will be your best bet if you don't want to lose too much meat...
Agree
i think he's trying to piss me off by saying "Hunter Precision"
Hunter Precision, Hunter Precision, Hunter Precision
Can you find some other copper loads, velocity, expansion, accuracy
Remington has a copper bullet I want to try in 7 PRC but most of the stores that carry it are out of stock. I'm keeping my eye out for it though!
@@mike.hardy37
Remington has two a 160gr, and 170gr copper…Cut
I'll have to give them a try. It would be cool if I could get the 170 grain to group well

That's interesting, I never knew that!
100% federal ammo
They did outperform hornady

@@puckerfactoroffroad1326that's cool of Federal for doing that! I've always liked their ammo
