That "someone"was my mom. I listened to this in my ears while my mom was in the hospital. She was nearing her final days. When she crossed over ...her smile ignited a light that will never go out. I’m 16. When I discovered the album aged six back in 2014 when it appeared on my iTunes I listened to it on repeat for weeks. Songs of innocence was the first album I ever listened to start to finish and I soon became a massive fan of U2. From U2 I started exploring other music from the 80s, it defined and still defines my music taste. People may disagree over the distribution of the album on iTunes. But for me, this is the album that sparked my love of music. Thank you U2 ❤
My Mom took me to see U2 for the very first time back in 1985. I just lost her in October after a battle with Altzheimers, and lost my Dad only 5 weeks later. My parents always encouraged me to follow my dreams, whether it be traveling to Ireland or meeting friends across the US at concerts and getting to meet U2. I lost interest in the band after I became a busy Mom, but the funny thing is, I heard this song in a hair salon one day while waiting for Mom to get her hair done and the years came rushing back. Thank you Mom and Dad, I love and miss you. Thank you U2 for being the soundtrack of my youth, and now a part of my adulthood too... ❤

My dad has been a fan of U2 since he was really young... he even's got a tattoo. And I have always thought that U2 is a really successful band, with a big fanbase. But a few weeks ago, I found out about the reason of why my dad cries when he listens "original of the species", it's a beautiful song, and he gets emotional when he hears it because it reminds him about me... so I listened the song again and it took a new meaning for me. U2 is my oldest love in music. Bono's voice, Edge's great sound and guitar playing and the solid and original spine of the band with Larry and Adam who are always forgotten... I love this song because of the truth within its words. We all have a light that is valuable to this world. We all struggle, its being human. As long as we continue to fight our way through our issues, that light will always be there. This has to be one of this best songs.

I can honestly say that this song changed my life. I've always been a huge music fan. My dad is a musician, my grandfather is a musician. So many people in my life were amazing artists! My dad has been a fan of U2 since he was really young... he even's got a tattoo. And I have always thought that U2 is a really successful band, with a big fanbase. But a few weeks ago, I found out about the reason of why my dad cries when he listens "original of the species", it's a beautiful song, and he gets emotional when he hears it because it reminds him about me... so I listened the song again and it took a new meaning for me. Now I'm checking their other songs, like I still haven't found what I looking for and Bad, and they're really profound and beautiful. I'm finally understanding why they are a band that's so big and important, they don't release commercial music, they're profound and special.

Aye Gavin! U2 was my childhood inspiration, the only band whose compilation CD I played while asleep, so I could wake up with Where streets have no name and similar songs. Fan since Unforgettable Fire. Alas had a huge gap of not following them since 1998, thinking they gave it all with POP. Now I'm seeing how many beautiful albums and songs I have missed. It's never too late, but I feel sad I have let down my band from childhood that I loved to the dearest.

Songs by U2 always say something for someone. They're not common songs, that's why I love all U2 songs.
U2 is my oldest love in music. Bono's voice, Edge's great sound and guitar playing and the solid and original spine of the band with Larry and Adam who are always forgotten... Just one of the best bands still active that never changed a band member and that was never afraid to take chances.
