Love the music dude! Keep it up! I want to ask how did u learn to create chillwave songs? As someone who loves chillwave and has made 1 chillwave song before in FL, i cant seem to to recreate another one. Maybe i dont understand the concept of music theory yet but id like to know. ❤

I had a crack at creating a chillwave song a few months back, for me the core element was getting the rhythmic chords (which is what this project starts with). Listen to a few chillwave tracks (A.L.L.I.S.O.N. & Hotel Pools are my go-to for chillwave) and try to recreate the rhythm of the chords.
For the chords themselves, I found using sevenths instead of regular triads helped. They tend to feel a bit more ambiguous than the equivalent triads. Making use of inversions to try to limit how much the notes are moving up and down throughout the progression helps too (in my opinion). For the sound itself, focus on how the filter is opening up by changing the filter envelope's attack to give you that sort of brassy sound.
As well as that, a good bit of delay on the melodic elements, and send a load of the different elements to a big washy reverb to give a sense of space.
I realise I'm just a random dude throwing advice that he wasn't asked for, but as someone who recently spent some time learning to make a chillwave track I figured I'd share my experience in the hope that you find something useful from it!

Nice work man! Love catching these longer-form videos to get a proper insight into other producers' workflows!

@@starlinkwaves No worries man! I can imagine it's tricky to get the recording to work smoothly while the DAW is running and you're streaming everything! Keep up the great work man!
