Thank you for sharing this lovely book. I read on 26 March 2024 from the UK. I so much enjoy it as its clean and easily adaptable. Love the narrator, she was perfect for this book. Can't wait for the next one😊🤩!!!
Life in a lighthouse is a great location! I listen on my cell phone and I have listened in the kitchen, bedroom and laundry whilst I worked. What a lovely well written and read story.
Thank you so much for making this book available! I thoroughly enjoyed listening while sewing dresses for an upcoming family reunion! I can't stand listening to books with AI voices, but your narrator was delightful! Thank you again!
By the way, I graduated from USU, too, although many years ago! I am a retired elementary school librarian with four children and twelve grandchildren, and I love to read to them now, as well as for myself, of course! Thanks for making the next book available, too!
A very good book and narrator. Makes a bookworm from the shores of Norway grateful. Thank you for sharing this exellent story. Looking foreward to the next !!
Abigail is so relatable, i love how strong she is but also vulnerable. and Gavin is the man we all deserve. i loved listening to their relationship grow. this made me so happy. thank you for sharing this book Deborah! also loved the narration. great wind down after a long day 😌 and i must say, the suspense of the shipwreck was intense! i could see the scenes play out in my mind. great writing!
I just finished listening to this book and it inthralled me. I grew up in a fishing town on the coast of New England. I love the sound of wave crashing on the shore, the cry of the gulls and the smell of salt in the air. I’m now land locked in the mountains of BC Canada, which are breathtakingly beautiful, but too far to hear the waves crashing. Your descriptive narrative brought me back home in my imagination. And the sounds of in coming waves as each scene ended was brilliant. This is the first book I’ve listen to that you wrote. I sincerely hope you will be making future books available on you tube because I want to listen to many more of your wonderful stories. I will subscribe. Thank you very much. 😊
This made my day reading your comment! So glad it was able to help you go back home for a time. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to live so far away from the sea’s waves! I will definitely be adding more books, so keep a watchful eye! Thanks for listening and subscribing!
Wonderful story! I will look for more. The style and content is amazing and got my attention immediately. I had to listen to the entire story in one sitting.
Absolutely fabulous story! It's heartwarming & wholesome just as it is adventurous & engaging! A true reading/ listening delight! Proof you don't have to include smut to tell a great romance story!!! TYSM!!!
I love this narrator and to come across her working with such a talented writer has been such a joy. This was a beautiful story and I loved the added ocean sounds it made this book totally different from what I have listened to. Thank you Deborah for sharing your talent with us and the joy of listening to it for free is just so appreciated. So glad to see there is more of your beautiful writing to listen too❤ I can't wait...
What a joy it's been to take in all this audio book has to offer...a wonderful romance, beautifully written and narrated. I look forward to listening to the other books offered. Thank you so much!
Thank You! A great story and a wonderful narrator! Subscribed…and looking forward to listening to more books from you! Thank you again for sharing your talent!
Thank you for sharing. This was a great strory. I especially enjoyed the action-packed first half. The latet half moved a bit slow, especially with the constant replay of the niece's insecurities.
@@maricelahernandez8317 Thank you so much!!! I will get it started right now :) I do as well, if you would like to suggest authors that write clean I would appreciate those too.
I stopped listening halfway through because I was so frustrated with Abigail, and couldn’t continue when I disliked the heroine so much. However, I just finished Lady of Lowena, and had similar (though shorter lived frustration with Sophia.) However, I enjoyed the story and themes taught. So I thought with all the positive reviews, I will revisit this one…
This is a good story But I think maybe I’ve overdone listening to audiobooks. I’ve gotten impatient with nit picking unpleasant, female characters that have a chip on their shoulders. Sigh...
It's always tricky reading stories with characters we don't personally connect with. Luckily, there's a huge variety of women in fiction so we can always find someone we love!! Thanks anyway for listening!
I don’t know how anybody could nitpick about the reading of the story, or the story itself. I thoroughly enjoyed both. And I surely enjoy the fact that it’s audio so I can listen and sew. 😊❤ Thank you so much for making this available
I get ya, sometimes we do need a break, I listen to about 1 audiobook a day and sometimes I'd like to just kill off the lead female character and let someone better get the guy. Lol. I actually didn't dislike this one but I totally understand where you are coming from. Sometimes I think I'm probably just too old and anxiety ridden to listen to young whiny selfish lead characters. 😅❤.
This is the second book from the same author I just can’t finish. I get so frustrated with the way heroines are written - flawed, jealous, petty, whiny ( or perhaps it’s the narrator that makes them sound like they are constantly complaining) to a point where it’s hard to get to like them and care about them, and yet the hero in both stories is admirable, gentlemanly, kind, caring, perfect. It’s just upsetting. No matter how happy the ending is, it makes it impossible to enjoy it.
I completely understand. Reading about flawed females can be so difficult, especially when the males seem so very unflawed. I always try to make both characters flawed, however, including my men! But maybe I'm harder on females and write them that way because it's easier to see my own flaws in them than in males. ;) Either way, I hope you find a book somewhere that you can connect with and love!
I love the story, but I also wonder if women were ever this stupid. Or is it made up filler to fill the pages of a book. It just makes the story a little like drudgery. I realize social norms at this time in history, but not speaking the truth to your spouse, just seems a little unbelievable.
@@holliecarlton1335 thanks so much for your comment! I can see why Abigail is so frustrating. I was annoyed writing her at times! I will assure you, though, that I was definitely not trying to fill up the pages of this book. I’m quite wordy and have no trouble doing that on my own! 😅 I will also say, from my own experience, that, yes, women sometimes can act this silly. As someone who deals with anxiety and OCD, it’s extremely difficult to not speak the truth to a spouse-or to anyone for that matter! Poor Abigail has suffered some major trauma and experiences crazy bouts of anxiety snd OCD herself, so it just took her a little longer than normal to overcome those mental blocks. Luckily Gavin was there to show her a better way to communicate, as she’d never experienced how to do so before him! I’m glad you still enjoyed the story despite this! Thank you so much for listening!
I'm only 3/4 of the way through the book, but I'm already irritated that they are not taking Miles more seriously, he really is responsible for 16 sailor's death. And they think it's just fine leaving him in town with no consequences. That's crazy.
