Thank you for the episode guys! And nice interview with Dan Milstein: so interesting to get an inside view of his job and so inspirational too!!! Thank you for posting it!
That was killer when you faded Brad out at the end. I had to re watch it a couple times and laugh a bit. You should do that at the end of every episode and individually fade everyone out until its just Ryan reading off the patreon members. So funny
I love when yall do interviews. It's always interesting hearing from the people off the ice who keep everything moving, and as someone with immigrant parents, I tear up every time I hear someone talking about how they were able to achieve the American dream
Nobody believes more than a few drunks are chanting fire LaLonde. Just because the same 5 idiots post it here on TH-cam doesn't mean your hypothetical thousands is an actual thing.
Great episode as always, you guys asked what I thought were great questions! I'm sure it comes up a bunch but man imagine where we would be in this rebuild with a Hughes and Seider.
Boys - you did a great job with the Questions you asked Dan Milstein . Of course he was fantastic with his openness with the answers . For the past few years - I have been hearing people say over and over again about state income taxes - and it is absolutely idiotic - that someone is going to base their life around less state income taxes . BTW - it is always reported that certain states have no taxes - that is blatantly false - they do not have state income tax as is a tax taken from a paycheck . Taxes are still collected only in different ways - as in higher sales taxes , higher property taxes . For instance in Michigan - the state income tax is 4.05% - of taxable income in NY its 5 % . So the narrative that a player is going to choose a team based on 4 or 5 % tax on their income - is honestly idiotic - I don't know how or why people have bought into this but thankfully - your interview got a straight up response once and for all .
24:38 It doesn't even look like a passive box. It's like a box when the PP is on the board. When it goes high, the box becomes a more of a line of players screening the goalie. It's weird.
Dan is an interesting guy. To think that his agency started basically as a favor to his friend Pavel, it makes me feel pretty gross about all the hate he got in Pav’s last few years.
Brad, The Canucks are on fire so are Lankinen and DeBrusk have also gained new energy since the move from the B's, congratulations Van. They don't play perfect games against RW (didn't need to). What do the last ten games on the away ice look like for Van, who is in goal and so on. Statistics in all their glory, however we can all see a bit away. Give praise where it belongs and then you can do like Dmac and deny everything, or like Me see it positively that RW is probably competing for a 3rd pick this year congratulations.
I love Seider's physical play 5 om 5 but when killing a penalty chasing an opponent to lay on a big hit turns a 5 on 4 man advantage into a 4 on 3. Agree with most of what Brad says but do not play more aggressive on the PK. Let the opponent pass the puck around the perimeter until they're arms fall off. Stay in position, cover in front of the net and cover the guy at the back door.
So I’m curious now. Bob Boughner is running the PK right? Or does Lalonde have some say in that? What kind of PK strategy was Bob Boughner or his assistant running in San Jose?
Are we ever going to know the real reason for the walman giveaway? It’s my main frustration with the roster. Paying to give away a solid defenseman is still absurd to me. At the very least if he was being traded there should have been a return for him.
The big difference between last years PK and this years, is save %. They actually allow a similar HDCA/60 on the PK but the save % last year .860, this year .775. They have the 2nd worst save % in the NHL. Changes need to happen on the structure but they arent getting any saves either.
Was it not obvious the coaches challenge for goalie interference was not goalie interference? He was outside the crease, not even a 50/50 maybe it would be overturned. Especially knowing how bad the PK is.
Am I the only one thinking it's not a coincidence that the team has played much better (other than the PK) since Patrick Kane has been out? There were times I felt that way last season and have that same feeling again. As for the PK, it was right in the middle last season. Whatever they changed from then needs to be changed back. Crazy how far it has fallen with essentially the same personnel.
I would not agree with you - but Patrick Kane - 24/25 barely resembles Patrick Kane of last season. I do not know what his injury is - or how long he has had it - but he has not been playing well at all this season. He is not someone who is ever going to be on the penalty kill
To the point about just dont take penalties. They already do that. Detroit is the 6th least penalised team. What they need is to not take dumb penalties ( chariot's careless double minor at the end of the 2nd period, and newsy's dumb goalie interence challange )
The only players producing is our core lol. Other than Tarasenko and Holl it’s been our core players. I want to see Compher and the rest of the old bums fired into the sun.
Screw firing Lalonde, let's fire Stevie at this point. Y's thinking: "Let's put Ville in net he's definitely proven he's better than Cossa (despite having a 0.811 save percentage to Cossa's 0.925). Negligent management of a team you were once the hero of is inexcusable and quite frankly embarrassing.
Tell me you don't understand hockey without saying it. I got news for ya bud, prospects aren't elevator players to jerk around with travel for your own selfish win conditions. Don't start crying if Campbell backs up Husso if Talbot is out for more than a day. YOU DONT PULL PROSPECTS AWAY FROM A WINNING TEAM.
“Protecting the lead” does not work in today’s game. Lalonde… IT DOES NOT WORK! The players are too damn good to risk having sustained d zone time. Need to clog the neutral zone and keep your foot on the gas. I’m starting to think we have huge conditioning issues. I’m a Panthers fan, the Cats literally get better as the game gets deeper because they’re coached well and have good physical conditioning.
Well right now with Talbot and Lyon hurt. They need both Husso and Cossa. That being said Lalonde needs to start Cossa. Which he won’t. No idea if Cossa is better. But we all know Husso sucks. Even more so when looking at his cap hit
Dan Milstein interview. Absolutely BEST ever!
It's crazy that the wings had one of the best PK for stretches of last year. I remember there was a streak of like 20 straight kills they had
Thank you for the episode guys! And nice interview with Dan Milstein: so interesting to get an inside view of his job and so inspirational too!!! Thank you for posting it!

if only we could fade Brad out in real life
I love when yall do interviews. It's always interesting hearing from the people off the ice who keep everything moving, and as someone with immigrant parents, I tear up every time I hear someone talking about how they were able to achieve the American dream
Sad game to go to yesterday. Such an exciting comeback just to watch “protect the lead” fail in-person. Lots of fire Lalonde chants after that…
Nobody believes more than a few drunks are chanting fire LaLonde. Just because the same 5 idiots post it here on TH-cam doesn't mean your hypothetical thousands is an actual thing.
It hasn’t worked one time. Lalondes face bothers the hell out of me at this point.
Great episode as always, you guys asked what I thought were great questions! I'm sure it comes up a bunch but man imagine where we would be in this rebuild with a Hughes and Seider.

Yeah this. No one also were bitching about taxes when TB, fla and Dal sucked. Players want to win. Thats it.
Great interview!!!
where the fuck did brad learn to vanish from thin air like that??????????????
Haha i just commented on this. That shit was funny
we willed him out of the room
Milstein interview was amazing!
Super great and interesting Interview, loved it so much
I enjoy these chats more than watching the wings this year.
Great interview guys!
I was amazed at the gap between Hughes and Seider. Hughes is such an incredible player.
Very very different type of players aswell tbh

I thought the big big topic for the Red Wings was, who will be the new head coach?
The vibes got way better once Kane was out. Just saying
Could he be the Wings version of Javier Baez another Chicago star turned over rated?
6:48 Marc Staal’s 2 goal legacy game at Edmonton🫡

You just know Dan has some CRAZY beliefs

At least Nate Danielson is starting the play very well in GR. He's played 20 games, first 10 games 3 points. Last 10 games 10 points..
Looks like he’s figuring it out quicker than Kasper did last year. Very promising

Talbot also is top 6 in GSAX, so i doubt thats The reason.
@fczip5493 Im talking about PK only. Talbot is -4.7 GSAx on the PK.

Kasper on PK
bring back Ned Harkness
I thought we are in the Darkness of Harkness era 2.0.
Karma is coming back around for the games we won early that we shouldn't have.
Pee trynotsomuch and chia rots biggest strength is getting off the ice asap

This team is horrible, Yzerman needs to do something.
Team sucks prospects have looked better than all vets except the first line. That is sad.

Fire Boughner never liked him
Waive Ville and promote Cossa. I don't see what's so difficult here...
Our goaltending hasnt been the problem in this season

Funny Evan said deflating cuz I woke up to a flat tire today!!
