It takes a real man to stare down an airbag like that with the battery connected! Solid review of a potential regulator 'band aid' fix and how to take apart the elements that make up the doors here. Well done. 👊
Ah the joys of owning a 996 (cabrio in my case). A few years ago I had to take that drivers door panel apart to get to the lock mechanism and change it. Most fiddly and pain in the butt job to do as it involves the tiniest locking washer I've ever seen which has to be inserted behind a panel and out of view and is so small you cannot wear gloves as you have to feel your way around the mechanism. I now have an intermittent issue with the window not dropping sometimes, mostly if it has been raining heavily for a few days. Dreading doing that job as the door internal structures are sharp as swords. I have already changed the regulator on the NS window about 4 years ago so I may do that instead of trying to adjust a 22 year old original. But great video so thanks.

Haha, glad you like. I have since replaced the cable tie with bike cable adjuster. Works really well to tension the cable.
Brilliant. You used a split cable type adjuster? Like on a brake lever? Any links to parts, or pictures? I'll check your other videos. @@DanielBall
I don't have any pictures, but I am sure you can find what you need on eBay. I welded a washer to the regulator to hold it all in place too.
Well done - really admire your courage and skill! I've got the very problem but not sure i'm your match....
Thank you 😁 give it a go. It's not too difficult

I hope it was useful and wish you luck with yours 😊
Such a good fix 🙌
Thank you 😊
Good job on the video you should have changed the moisture barrier though, it was destroyed.
Thank you.
How did you remove the slack?
Originally cable ties but I have since fitted a bike cable adjuster as a long term fix. Works a treat 😄
@DanielBall I see you used cable ties but where did you put them to take up the slack? I have similar problem. Thanks.
Between the outer cable and the metal bracket.
I thought the issue was because of a bad microswitch
No, because you can hear it work
