I worked at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary,It was sad to see what happened to it. That staircase at the front of the hospital. led to th Matrons office Cora Nicholson.Look what happens when education takes over.Same thing happened to Sorthes Hall
I was born in huddersfield and have lived here all my life and attended Huddersfield technical college in the early 90s and actually got to see what the old hospital part of College looked liked before it was abandoned and left to decay but watching this video it's really upsetting and makes you angry to think such a beautiful old historic building in the heart of Huddersfield is in such state iam hoping it can be saved and restored to its former glory has we Don't have many historic buildings left in huddersfield now and its a really big shame it makes you angry and upset to think the people who are responsible for looking after buildings in huddersfield let it get in such a state 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😡😡😡😡😠😠😠😠
I have lived in Huddersfield for most of my 60 years and attended this college for 3 or 4 courses from 1979 onwards. My Mum was a Drama/General Studies Lecturer here too during the 80's and 90's. As soon you showed the library it brought back so many memories for me. In its day, it was like walking around a rabbit warren or a maze. I drive past there most days and have wondered what it looked like inside before the main concrete structure was demolished last year. It took months to clear the site of all the rubble, but now it looks like they're on their way to constructing what ever the hell it is they're gonna build. No doubt it'll be something no one wants, as is the remit of Kirkless Clowncil these days...........
They've recently tore down the old college as I live in this town I suggest going to New Mill in Marsden suggestion is to go early in the morning this town has a lot of forgotten history, thanks for covering some of it :)
Great video lads as always. The level of vandalism is staggering, and unfortunately really reflects the direction that many parts of today's society is heading in the UK. Its good that the site and the listed building will find a new purpose and that something good can come from the carnage. Thanks
my questions for the Q/A: what inspired you to explore abandoned places? how did you all become friends (how did you all meet)? who first came up with the idea to start this TH-cam channel? how did you come up with the name Urbandond?
@@szdan_official The grotty "new" bits yes and there's flats, houses and even a Lidl going in. The classical temple to health is Grade II* listed so not even the might of the house builders, nor the wealth of the german grocers can flatten that. Thank Gott!
There's plenty in there for the scrappies to take. Filing cabinets, tables, radiators, the linings of the ceiling, those fire doors are an easy £50 each lol.
the new bit extension was pulled down. the hospital part has a legal problem, since it was paid for by public subscription, so technecly belongs to the people.very advanced at the time. building the college was first class as well, spent time in both buildings as a student plus hospital patient
There are a few pictures online of it not too long after abandonment in 2015. The lecture theatre for example is on there but looks very different compared to your experience
Hey guys, great video. Relatively new to the channel. We have recently started our channel doing exploring and paranormal and we just get so terrified going into places, sometimes to the point we bail out...our question to you is when you first started out, how did you overcome the fear of being somewhere you're not supposed to be and getting caught or meeting people inside you were unaware of? Is it something you actually get over or just something you harden up to over time? Any advice on increasing confidence? Take care lads 🤘
What kinds of places interests you the most? And how do you find the places you go to explore? Other than the obvious google search. Hope you guys are well and thanks as usual for the content ❤
Hello, your videos are great and I just wanted to ask what lenses do you use? It says the cameras you have on your website but it doesnt say what lenses.
Hiya Alistair, there's nowhere in Whitehaven were you can explore, most the unwanted old buildings got demolished this time last year, my question is have any of you went through the floor, but you've had to edited it out? during editing later on? I wish these kids would leave these Victorian buildings alone, its good that the hospital has been listed, then it could be used for something else, could you explore a former workhouse, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
The old hospital is a beautiful building and needs saving ,i look forward to seeing you explore the new college building after it starts to fall apart in a few months time 😂
You boys are not averse to a bit of arseing about thank goodness, so for the Q& A, how much of your B roll / unbroadcastable / Bleeps and bloopers footage are you/can you spoil us with? And have you ever set one another up on a late night recce of a new place, say, slipping ahead and making ghostly groans to scare the beJesus out of your mates?
except for the older listed areas of the lot this has all been torn down now, my mum went to the college when it was still open and she says it was an alright place. its a shame they wont pay more respect or homage to the old history of the older building or the old hospital. i go past this area every single time i go into the town centre and i must say it looks weird now it has been torn down
Hey guys! Hope you enjoyed this video. Remember to comment any questions that you want us to answer in our 100,000 Q&A! Thanks
I have a question but it isn’t related to exploring but I am just curious if any of you guys are gay? ❤😊
Do any of you have autism and if so has it helped?

Lidl and Wimpey (homes) apparently.
Glad we could help you bring back those memories :)
a great video. Very sad to see it smashed up. Exploring in a responsible fashion is one thing, but it is a shame that everything is smashed up.
Glad you guys got to see this before so much of it was demolished :o
My new favourite TH-cam channel!
Thank you!
I love the architecture of the exterior of this building, it's got a back to the future clock vib!!
I know what you mean!
The exterior showed how beautiful it once was!
Great explore😎👍

I really like the consistency of your videos over the last years.
-What awaits you
-Exploring
-Some photographs
👍
We like the consistency with the way we film, good to see it’s appreciated. It will remain the same
This is truly one of my most favorite channels!
Great to hear it
Nice job guys well done

The 1970s buildings have been recently demolished now.
Sadly a lot of it has been demolished, but yes, it is good that the older parts will be somewhat saved. Glad you enjoyed the video 😃
Nice video, such a shame it has been so badly vandalized
Yes I agree completely!
Sad to see buildings trashed like this. Keep up the good work. 😊

how did you come up with the name Urbandond?
A great video I really enjoyed it so much. I liked the contrast between the modern college part and the old hospital part to.
Yes, despite all the vandalism, the difference in age was still noticeable
Fantastic explore!
Interesting place! Happy New year!
Only ruins remain, very sad.
All flattened now
Is it really??

You guys should start a paranormal group and explore other places like this and see what still remains in the building ser.

I will find this, would be intriguing to have a look
The outside with the big columns looks just like the Royal Berkshire hospital in Reading. Must have been the style of a certain time.
Definitely!

Too bad there is so much vandalism. The old building must have been really beautiful before.
In its way it was ,remembering it was a hospital.

Sad 😥
Q/A question. How was it exploring with Hell On Earth?

😎👍👍👍
It's gone now.
