5:54 *Devil summoning.* But seriously, this reboot is not exactly a _Big W_ (see what I did there?). They disrespected the format, the uniqueness of the Aussie version and the late Ian Turpie would have spinned on his early grave if not for the tribute to him at the start of this episode. No wonder it was cancelled after six months. “Game Over!”
The Price is Right (2012) GOOD - Larry Emdur returns as host - New Set - Back to it's original home on Seven Network BAD - Very cheap budget (Save for the showcases) - New announcer, Brodie Young - Blant plugs for BigW (More of an infomercial than a game show) - Recycled Doug Davidson's format This version of Aussie Price just didn't do justice to the older versions, which disappointed a lot of fans.
I saw the first episode and unfortunately it was very unwatchable because of the Big W sponsor and also it looks quite cheap. I’m not a fan of that young voiceover but I wished that they brought back Shawn Cosgrove
What a poor remake of what was once of Australia's greatest game shows......CHEAP prizes, no contestants row at the start, it's supposed to be a GAME SHOW and not a 30-minute plug for Big W, crap announcer, cheap-sounding musical cues, low-range car as the top prize.....Although it didn't appear in the first episode, a potential $3,000 spending voucher for Big W being the second most expensive prize after the car is BEYOND laughable......Where are all the cash prizes? Where are all the holiday prizes? Where are all the cars given away during the pricing games?......To think this show used to give away $500k+ showcases, apartments, boats, overseas trips, and different kinds of sports cars......I wonder what Larry thought of this whole thing. It'd become a $2 parody of it's old self :(
American here. There was a 1994 nighttime syndicated version of the American original that created the format used by the 2012 version of the Aussie version of The Price Is Right.
Cliff Hanger was my favourite game on The Price is Right

Brodie Young got his start on Big Brother 2002, if i remember correctly, what a coinsidence since my name is Brodie too.
Another good...they payed tribute to Ian Turpie.
They didn’t have any bidding war for the games.
I thought this Aussie version of TPIR was watchable, but Ian Turpie had to be turning in his grave.
At least they gave him a tribute on the 1st episode.
@@cutemimi25 And then afterwards, he didn’t seem to feel the need to hear all the BIG-W memorabilia go around the show.

Ian Turpie... aka Keith on Swift and Shift Couriers!
They used the Doug Davidson format and the French set design
That Big W commercial was kinda long and drawn out.

You're supposed to go to Contestants Row when you come on down.
That’s not what the Doug Davidson version also did- it only happened for when they do “the Price WAS Right” segments.
Exactly right as well as bid for the prize
Nah not for me….not a patch on our very own Leslie crowther, he had the show down to a ‘T’ back in the 80’s
I feel this is a new way how other lands play + the PRICE is RIGHT .I LIKE THE NEW HOST AND THE LADIES
I think the Real Cliffhanger names Brodie Young! Of Course!
Such a cringe reboot. Such a disappointment to all the previous fans.
How does cliff go up the mountain
