Rachmaninoff Etude-Tableau op39#6 Fragment of recording session in Hannover Germany, December 2009. Rachmaninoff Sonata # 1, 6 Moment Musicaux op 16, 4 Preludes
@@randomguyontheinternet6546 Oh wow, somehow I didn't even notice until today. Awesome! What's so psycho about it? On the contrary it's a very vivid and accurate depiction of the red hood's childish playfulness, a big scary wolf and the chase that ensues as the result of encounter.
@@pplayer666 The fact that Rachmaninoff is so good with embedding known images into his music and make it so visual, is what is so psycho about it. He doesn't leave a blank note space.

The above commenter attributed this piece to the story of Little red riding hood. The story famously depicts the wolf as anthropomorphic. So realistically we can discern that this is a story about a killer. Mr. Wolf stalking A little girl then kills the grandmother then pretends to be the grandmother and then he chased after the little girl and kills her too. To me that’s pretty psycho.
As someone who has played piano for many years, this is definetely not the hardest part, its her ability to play so fast and yet so delicate, when you play songs with many repeated notes and trills, the faster it gets the more impossible it gets

Majed Kalaoun Hello Mr. Classical music and minecraft fan, how's your piano playing going? Still learning that Chopin piece? Nice Instagram account....no posts I see.....you get snow often??? Anyway, have a nice life 😈😈😈😈
I absolutely love this. You have to be extremely crazy to compose this, even crazier to play it, that's the result of Rachmaninoff's music. He's my favorite composer and a personal inspiration. And I love Val's interpretation very much as well! The craziness of the best musicians ever!
Burntshmallow Rachmaninoff never really named his pieces, like so many other composers. it was just a nickname given by the public or someone after publishing
This Etudes and other 4 where named by Ottorino Respighi, who created an orchestrated version with Rachmaninoff agreement. Full list below. La foire - (Op. 33, n. 6) La mer et les mouettes - (Op. 39, n. 2) La chaperon rouge et le loup - (Op. 39, n. 6) Marche funèbre - (Op. 39, n. 7) Marche - (Op. 39, n. 9)
Like she doesn't "press" any of these piano keys at all. Her fingers are just floating softly over the keys, hardly touching them - and they press themselves by pure reverence. That's magic.
There's a version of the Red Riding Hood story where the girl gets tricked into cannibalizing her grandmother and then she, too, is killed by the wolf. That's the version of the story I link to think this piece fits. Scary.
when i heard the older video of Valentina playing this piece a long time ago i knew from the first few notes that she was a great artist. I don't always prefer her versions of the pieces but i always do a small detour to hear what she has to show with great enthusiasm :) what a great pianist and internet personality she is.
The idea of "Little Red Riding Hood" is from Rachmaninoff himself. And when I listen to her performance, it does remind me of Little Red Riding Hood found and chased by the wolf. I personally think the speed and weight are absolutely fitting for this piece. :)
When this piece is played this fast it really gives you the interpretation or vision of what could be happening in a scene between Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. Listening to it slower just makes you admire the craft of the piece.
This piece seems like it’s not even written for its beauty just for the virtuoso who plays it to show off their immaculate skills! This performance is truly tremendous!
