Every so often I do a search to see if any one still has racing pigeons in RI. Low in behold there is the "Silver Fox" Tony Melucci. A living legend, he was always the guy to beat when i was around in the 60's, & 70's. Not to many people Ieft that I know have pigeons but Tony was the best. It sounds like he still is, keep at it Tony.

I remember Tony when i flew with Worcester club back in the early 80's, Worcester club is gone, and all the old flyer's i knew! I'll never forget those days! I didn't even know Tony was living until now.

You may want to ask Tony about my brother John, He flew under Nugent loft. He longer races pigeons But I am sure he would make a great interview for one of your Videos. He still lives in Brookville

Thanks for you reply. He no longer races he is to ill. but he was at the top of the race sheet before he got sick. you may want to ask him how he won average speed with only ten pigeons. Tony called him the champ. if you need his phone number send me a e-mail at RACINGPROMOTION@AOL.COM .
PS. YOU ARE DOING A NICE JOB WITH YOUR VIDEOS

I did speak to Tony Melucci (my father) in regards to John, and Tony was instantly reunited with many fond memories of John, some of which he recounted to me, to include how, within the span of perhaps 2 years, John had won 5 combine races!
Also, Tony indeed referenced John as "The Champ" and often publicly declared John to be "As good as (if not better than) Dr. Arthur Bricoux!"
Tony also remarked about how kind John was, and about all the help he gave to a fellow plumber friend named Tony Lorefice (spl?).
According to Tony Melucci, John is definitely to be regarded as among the greats, and that an interview with him would serve the racing community very, very well.
