Sir, i am a son of a trucker and i have not been in a truck since 1996 when my father passed, when i came across this video i felt like i was back in a truck again, i can't thank you enough for that feeling again, God bless, stay safe and keep the hamma down 10-4
I used to dream about jake brakes as a kid.... My Dad drove a K100 Aerodyne with a 350 cat. My first time behind the wheel of that old girl and I was HOOKED!!!!!
The way that turbo diesels sound and especially this one is why I will never stop loving these older trucks. New volvos and freightliner aeronose trucks are just hideous and will never be cool the way these are.
@@NobleM.edia1 I wish I could. I'm a medium/heavy duty diesel mechanic so I get to work on these bad boys all the time but I don't get to do much driving. I have a class A CDL so I can if needed, but it rarely happens. Most of the trucks that we have where I work are brand new so they have an elaborate emissions system and you can barely hear the engine because of it. They're still pretty fun to drive anyways though.
If loaded and drove right that old truck will probably get better fuel milage than the new trucks and will sure run alot more miles with ALOT less maintenance
Of all the truck videos I watch I never in a million years thought I would see one of a truck leaving Fergusons Lumber in Rocky Mount VA to pull Grassy Hill into Callaway. When I saw you go Uttermost I knew there was no mistaking it :)
Nice sound engine and beautiful trucks. Here in the old continent it is a different concept, there are no vibrations, you can hardly hear the motor, and unmatched comfort.
That thing sounds perfect! Reminds me of all the good memories I have of watching the log trucks on hwy 101 and parts of the mountain passes in Oregon. And luckily I sometimes still get to create memories like that today!
Love those pipe. I was comming down the Cajon pass one time and was right next to a guy in a Pete with straight stacks so I stayed right next to him so I could hear those pipes.
Awesome when I learn to drive in 54 kenworth 200 no jake when I retire at 62 I got a CDL with all endorsements and got drive trucks with jakes couldn’t believe the the way it help.
Looks like a W900L to me. The W900B I drive is wider in the front but the snout is shorter than the W900L much like Peterbilt has normal 389 and long nose 389's.
Your truck sounds awesome. I am more into big aircraft and military jets but I love the sound of any big engine. All you need is a camera with a wider angled lens to make the vibration less noticeable or a buffered gimbal mount.
Wow!!! Music to my ears!!! Love the way that cat is talking , if you have never heard a cat bark then go back watch again and listen you will hear it while shifting must be stepping on his tail.
Sounds bad to the bone awesome nothing like a caterpillar like the sound of the Detroit 60 series as well but cat is the best sounds like a locomotive sweet

Whatcha say hand you got the real deal right there huh... LMAO....i heard whatchu said hand and you ain't lying! Gotta love the big kitty when the straight pipes and cat turbo are singing in harmony🤗
Hay going to tell you mr.roger sisco you do have the real deal that's for dam sure man the sound that it is making is better than anything else in the world the only thang thats better was the day i heard my son cry when he was born thats it ... . The real deal got it for me ... Great video 👍👍👍👍
A real Jake break changes the rack of the Valves or the timing. It creates resistance or shuts off the Exhaust valve as the piston is in the Exhaust Stroke. So it slows or holds the Engine back. Some offer 2 or 4 or all 6 Cyl Valves to be used at Operator discretion. There is also Exhaust Brakes that don't use the Valves but a restriction of the Exhaust to slow or hold the Engine back. Hope this helps.
I have a question. I could be wrong. This stretch of road from 6:00 mins on?.. It looks like the same scene from "Black Dog" - hill scene with the 4 rigs climbing their way up then pin balling back down the hill. Tell me that is the area, it just looks like it. Coming up to the bend at 7:20 where the car hauler ran off the road. 7:44 The Volvo red day cab lost his break running down the hill till it soon done a barrel roll after hitting the long office trailer. Great sound from the 525 Cat.
@@rogersisco7253 Wow, what a great video to be recommended, on top of that listening to 525 cat pulling the hill and hearing the smooth Jake brake down the hill and finding out this is the same stretch of road for the scene Black Dog. What a great find. I wish company Caterpillar made engine for semi. They are more better then then Emission added type engines they have out now. Def fuel... ewww
@@deborahchesser7375 They were the best and if you can find one today are still tops...that' the reason the big brother and cat had to mess with then they were nearly perfect for their time !!!!

350 cat is an excavator engine.
Just as perfect sounding as opening an ice cold beer after a long hot hard day!!!!!
Great way to start my morning off......man that kitty cat is growling

20 mins of nothing but Turbo Whistle and Jake brake 🤤🤤🤤🤤👌👌👌👌
I hear this over 12 hours a day as an owner operator with a 2003 Kenworth W900 with a kitty 6NZ.
Honey Badger helll yeah

From beginning to end, the sounds of this rig are just amazing. I love that you’re having a great time videoing this too, truly enjoy what you do!

Plenty of them still out there bubba. They didn’t just magically disappear.
Love the C15 I've got one in my 2015 t800 Kenworth glider truck 550 6NZ 10 SPD 4.11 turned wide open , hauling logs with it .
One of the best sounds in trucking. New epa approved engines don’t sound that good.
