This is GREAT a GOD given talent,,,,all of her singing was after watching TH-cam tutorials,, just totally AMAZING ..I've seen her most recent videos=all excellent ,,,,,,,,, BLESS HER
Loved your reaction. Actually when Amira first came to attention when she auditioned for Holland's Got Talent the year before aged 9 and sang this song.. one of the judges said the same... this is not normal.. what was also not normal was that Amira had not had singing lessons but had sent two years teaching herself to sing these arias from TH-cam! You would enjoy that audition and what she says plus het semi final Ave Maria and the mind boggling Nessun Dorma which won her the final. There are many brilliant large stage performances on her TH-cam channel from each year til now. She will be 19 this month and still sings beautifully.
She was nine years old here singing to and receiving a standing ovation from an audience of 10,000, many of whom were reduced to tears. I believe she is now 18 years old. I suggest you watch her first audition on Holland's Got Talent at this same age. Be sure to set the English caption, watch the judges questions and comments after she sings. She has many videos on TH-cam. She is amazing.
She won the talent show in Holland in 2013 and is a big deal in Europe and she heard opera on the radio and sang along and never had singing lessons, I still replay it sometimes on utube , Holland has talent I think she was 9 then.
Amira is a autodidact, she learnt singing by watching many TH-cam video's of Mariah Callas. She did that because her older brother would play the violin on Queensday here in the Netherlands and so she decided to watch opera video's.
And she had alot of training. If you research you will find that. TV sometimes want to make stories better. In some cases they dont need to because Amira is fantastic.
Lovely reaction! Like you I am a huge Angelina Jordan fan. Amira is as brilliant! I love to switch between the two. Neither girls received any formal training before appearing on their own country’s got talent, ie Norway for Angelina and Holland for Amira. They both have an inert knowledge of music which has only improved as they’ve grown up. Both have frequently moved their audience to tears and both have generous souls each having founded childrens charities. Amira is another rabbit hole for you to fall in!
She learned that from watching TH-cam. She now lives in South Africa, you should really checkout her version of Little Drummer Boy with the Mzansi Youth Choir.
Hello Britt, you just discovered two famous artists from the Netherlands at the same time. Amira was only 10 years old here and she is now 18 and a big star (especially in South Africa) where she lives. But if you want to know more about the "Johan Strauss Orchestra" from Andre Rieu, you shoud check him out too. He is so unbelievably succesful with his concerts all over the World (Vienna, New York, Toronto, Melbourne, Mexico, Rio de Janeiro, South Africa, and ofcourse all the summerconcerts in his wonderful hometown Maastricht (like this one).
Thank you for your great reaction. After Amira won 'Holland's Got Talent' she was Invited by Andre Rieu to attend one of his vocal workshops., which was to be held in London. This performance is the result.Amira was born in the Netherlands on 27 March 2004,her Mother is South African and her father Dutch, she has an elder brother Fincent, who was born on 10 June 2002.It is almost ten years since Amira won H G T and it is incredable how far her career has progressed, in such a short period. In 2022, Amira graduated from matric, with eight or nine distinctions and honors. When she was thirteen,Amira, her brother and mother moved to Potchefstroom in the North West of South Africa, where her mother has relitaves, this was in 2018.After a three year struggle,Amira received her South African citizenship in I think last year in January,2022.This is not the end of the Amira saga.Go well, reguards from Michael Jonathan Lewis, Johannesburg,South Africa.
The Orchestra is actually a famous group in Europe. This in Andre Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra. You should check out some of his other pieces. He became famous when he performed the second waltz at a soccer match…
At the end of this month Amira turns 19. And she is still singing. I had the privilege to be able to visit a live-concert here in the Netherlands, last december: very special! There is a lot of similarity with Angelina Jordan's history: both did win a National talentshow at a very young age (Amira from the Netherlands was 9 in 2013, Angelina from Norway was 8 in 2014), both are gifted with natural talents in their own genre (Amira classical/religious, Angelina jazz/blues), both are under 20, both are protected from media and commercial music-industry hunters so they can have a normal childhood. And last but not least: both girls are following their musical dream, fully supported but without being pressed to do that. Amira has finished Highschool a few month ago, Angelina will do that next summer. So all in all to me that is so unique.
Amira (whose name means "princess" in Arabic) won Holland's Got Talent just a few months prior to this performance at age nine. FACT: With no prior formal training, from about age 7 to 9, she taught herself opera from watching TH-cam videos and emulating the singers! I knew there had to be something good about TH-cam! LOL! Andre Rieu (the world famous conductor/violinist here) saw her HGT performance and personally invited her to attend his master class school for a week (I believe) in Austria. This is how she came to be on his show. Amira is now 18 (will be 19 on March 27), and is better than ever (if that's possible!). She is 10 in this video and, that same year, she began a foundation called Gelukskinders ("Lucky Children") to raise awareness and funds to build playgrounds all over South Africa for underprivileged children to have a place to play. Leading by example and her extraoridinarily kind & generous heart, she donates 50% of all her earnings to her own foundation! Amira, like Angelina, is a miraculous prodigy and compassionate almost beyond comprehension!
Amira has had no formal training, she watched Utube, and found music that she liked her excellent ear for sound and tone turned her into the incredible talent that she is and what is scary is that she is still on that search to becoming the entertainer that she is, she is, of course, a genius!
Thank you Britt for reacting to Amira and Angelina. I'm a 73 year old musician, trained in classical music and having played rock and blues. Amira and Angelina both make me tear up. They are truly angels from above, bringing joy to the world. Check out out the amazing things Amira has done in her life.
She lives here in South Africa now and performs in Europe. She was fostered…Holland recognised a good thing when they heard it! She trained herself!! Now that you’ve hit my neck of the woods, try a couple of our singers. I suggest Johnny Clegg; either Great Heart or Scatterlings of Africa.
There are a few videos of her singing here, with Andre Rieu in Maastricht, she was there for a couple of nights. I'm less familiar with this one. The most popular video has had 76 million hits. She is quite unique, and unfazed by her talent. 10 years old then, there are a lot of other videos of her singing, they are all good.
Reference to this orchestra, Look him up. He has more fun with concerts, something you do not see very often. The members clown around with the music. There was a Waltz and showed dancers dancing. Several of the dancers were in wheel chairs in beautiful gowns . He had a Mary Poppins song where the Lady playing Mary Poppins came gliding to the stage from the air. His concerts are worth the watch .
She taught herself to sing in her bedroom listening & watching TH-cam channels. At 9 years old she won Holland's Got Talent & no training. She was polished up for this performance. Andre Reiu's orchestra always dress up like you see there, I went to see him & its wonderful.
I saw ur other reaction with Ave Maria and had to check if u had seen her audition with this song.. here I think she was like 12-13 years old, in the audition where she first sang she was 9 years old, u should react to it, it blew my mind when I first saw it This song always brings tears in my eyes, much thnx to my memory of Amira singing it In the audition she tells how she learned to sing and a bit more, but watch it with english subtitles 🙂
She'd had just a few lessons and a master class by Andre, she learnt everything from watching Diva's on Utube. All self taught. This video didn't show the standing ovation, thousands stood including the granddaughter of the Queen of England.
Andre Rieu? I think that's how you spell his name, gives these kind of concerts all of the time! He is a celebrated violinist and conductor!! ❤️❤️. You should watch when he does the waltz's! They have couples in and around the people waltzing!! Some are even in wheelchairs! It's beautiful!! ❤️❤️
Thank you very much for reacting to the video that I requested when you reacted to Luciano Pavarotti, I don't know if you received more requests, but thank you very much, I see that I did not disappoint you with my request. Greetings from Guatemala City in Central America.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE - UP TO THIS POINT AMIRA WAS SELF TAUGHT - AMIRA WAS BLESSED WITH VERY SPECIAL ANGELIC TALENT and IS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON - PLEASE DO MORE REACTIONS, BUT START WHERE IT ALL BEGAN, WHEN SHE WON HOLLAND's GOT TALENT IN 2013 AT AGE 9 WITH 3 OPERA SONGS - THIS IS HER 3RD PERFORMANCE !! THANKS BRITT - BOER BEN from SOUTH AFRICA
Amira singt seit sie neun Jahre alt ist. Jetzt ist sie die beste Sopranistin in der heutigen Zeit. Bitte alle Lieder ansehen. Ich freue mich auf ihre nächsten Kommentare ❤️.
in the world of 'classical crossover' singers, which includes a few young voices, appearing on .....Got Talent shows, the child who originated it, was a Welsh soprano, called Charlotte Church. she wasn't on a talent show, though and was 12 years old, when she began her career. she was soon followed by Katherine Jenkins [not as a child] a mezzo. the whole world of classical crossover singers blossomed. Hayley Westenra, a child from New Zealand, Sara Brightman, another Welsh soprano [there's a few Welsh examples. they call Wales 'the Land Of Song] Andrea Bocelli and a host of others, created a brand new genre of music, which had the knock on effect of making opera more accessible to the masses of ordinary people, including me. this young lady is certainly one of the very best; even at such a tender age. truly remarkable
There is many amazing things about Amira but often think how amazing it is that this is very early in her career and she is just 10 years old. You saw the beautiful orchestra, the conductor is Andre Rieu world famous. And then the audience of 10,000 or more people. Can you imagine the pressure that puts on the performer and their is Amira standing in the spotlight and she delivers that level of performance. Then a standing ovation! Bravo. Two suggestions 1) Andre Rieu playing “the rose” an instrumental. The most beautiful song I have ever heard. Danced with my wife to that performance on our 50th anniversary. 2) again Andre Rieu performing “and the waltz goes on” it has a very special surprise. Be paying attention from the moment you push play.
Read Wikipedia about Deanna Durbin - a child star in the 30'es. There are only a few videos on TH-cam - she performed only a couple of decades - in films with Judy Garland and others. She retired and died in 2013 at the age of 91. She was "up there" as well. My mother - born 1926 - talked about her all the time when I was a child. She won an academy award - and has a star on Hollywood Blvd.
Britt, great reaction. Amira is probably the best young opera singer ever. There is a girl here in America that captured the hearts of millions about a decade ago. Her name is Jackie Evancho, and she first showed her remarkable talents on Americas Got Talent. She too sings opera, and has since branched off to other genres of music. You should give her a listen. She sang this song too on her first audition on AGT.
Amira mentions, in an interview, that she was inspired by Jackie's ability to sing opera and protect her voice at the same time. There is a video of Jackie wishing Amira well for the HGT performances.
I went to an Andre Rieu concert years ago and it was incredible. So moving and entertaining. Really an amazing experience. You should check out Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It’s a fun rendition. Or Mambo #5 (yep, that happened). Andre Rieu creates really incredible experiences.
Hi. About your reaction as for how all the people are dressed, it should be remembered that Uroupe is not like USA. Especially in these type of concerts. If you will react to other concerts of her, you will see how she was dressed too. Thsnks for your reaction. Hertz Israel
AMIRA WILLIGHAGEN~ LIVE IN CONCERT~ NELLA FANTASIA, she's in a blue-lilac long dress. This is the best video, it's even better than this, I think she was 12 years old. You'll be more amazed Love your reactions 😊
Amira's parents did the opposite to your suggestion. They made sure she stayed in school and had as normal a childhood as possible while still encouraging her musical development. She was awarded a 3-year contract with Sony which resulted in 2 CDs, but she remained in school and gradated high school in December 2022 as valedictorian.
There is Absolutely No Question About Amiras Raw Natural Talent !!! You should check out her 2017 Max Prom's video including ( Your Love) She taught herself !!! Still there Are Many Outstanding sopranos My Personal Favorite is Miss Patricia Janeckova ( The Goddess of Song ) ( Rusalka ) you Tube video Available of Regula Muhlemann, Jackie Evancho, Charlotte Church ,Emanne Beasha & Laura Bretan these ladies are indeed magnificent from Tone, Pitch and Note Separation.! They Have made the Hair Stand up on my Body !!! The Like Button 🔘 has been Illuminated.👍👍🥴😎
Up to that point she had no singing lessons, she learned to sing by watching TH-cam videos..Andre Rieu coached her a bit before these performances for 10,000 people. BTW Rieu spends a fortune on dresses and stage decoration, for their Australia concerts the company flew over four 747s ..
It was her brother and mom play violin. Dad keyboards. She was 7 and wanted to do something. She decided she wanted to sing. She practiced watching You Tube. It is said on her Moms side a late Grandfather sung Opera
Love Andre , yeah it's cool, the orchestra dress like they are going to the waltz ball, as soon as I heard the music and saw the little girl as was like no way no way not that song that is so hard to sing and that little girl did an awesome job, my mind is blown away, but I got to say I don't like opera so to love the way this girl sang that song was amazing, but I got say I love Angelina's style of singing way better because I love the music she sings way better, especially the way she sings it, I could listen to a peculiar song Angelina Jordan sings on repeat lots of times, Britt thx 😊 🙏
Willighagen comes from a musical family, and there is at least one video of all four of them playing together. Sadly, her parents later divorced. Her father stayed in the Netherlands and Amira moved to South Africa with her mother. BTW: the male musicians were in white tie, so they were wearing tailcoats, not tuxedos.
Nice video!! I like your reactions and insights and would loooove to see you react to classical music… I don’t know whether you are familiar with classical music or not at all, but almost nobody on reacts to it (except for GiDi). I think lots of people will enjoy watching someone explore this genre!
surprised? You shouldn't be because this is the opera part of the famous Triple A (Aurora - Amira - Angelina Jordan). Unlike the other two, she is Dutch, not Norwegian, but like them, the best in her field of music for her age. The similarities between Amira and Angelina on so many points are astounding to unbelievable. Conductor Andre Rieu rules the biggest stage Europe has to offer and, being Dutch himself, is more than proud to present this Dutch prodigy to the public. Since no one else has provided the link to her first Got Talent performance (sooo similar to Angelina's) - here it is th-cam.com/video/qDqTBlKU4CE/w-d-xo.html
And the fourth A is Amira’s friend her age, Alma Deutscher, who just opened her third opera in Salzburg, Austria. I have not yet seen a review, nor a review of her conducting her opera, CINDERELLA, in San Jose, California.
@@warrengwonka2479 Yes, that's right, Alma is the best of her age for composing and conducting classical music. Goes well with the other three A's. This qoute "Her strong affinity to music was apparent from an early age. She could sing in perfect pitch before she could speak, and she could read music before she could read words" sounds familiar, I've heard the similar thing about Aurora and Angelina.
One of my daughter's best friends was in a university opera program, and sang this at my daughter's wedding. It was the processional, so she sang as my husband walked my daughter down the aisle. The story of the song is about a girl asking her father to take her to her true love. There was not a dry eye in the church.
8:16 You have not been under a boulder. The things she does is what you get with like 10+ years of training and she has had 0. She's a natural. She listened to the songs and she figured out the technique of how to do it, without a voice coach. Quite literally she is a glitch in the matrix.
you should react to the dutch orchestra the good the bad the ugly or the group called broken peach. personal jesus live at 20th centuary rock or their version of tainted love halloween special or don't you want me. along with remains of the day halloween special
This was fine, but you missed a number of background details contained in her audition on Holland's Got Talent in 2013. Here is the link. th-cam.com/video/qDqTBlKU4CE/w-d-xo.html So you don't miss it, she learned to sing Opera and this song JUST by watching TH-cam videos. Her optional dream is to be an Olympic athlete! 🎶🎶👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤ She was 9 in the audition.
You’ve heard two of the triple A trio her age. The third is a friend of hers with a different talent. Alma Deutscher is a composer, violinist with a ten million dollar Stradivarius on permanent loan, pianist, and now after a year of excellent Viennese study, conductor. Her CINDERELLA opera sold out with added performances in San Jose, California. She returned last autumn wielding the baton. The video is available free on her web site. The most commonly reviewed item is her WALTZ OF THE SIRENS from her sold out Carnegie Hall concert of her work. Every note in the concert is hers. She cocks a snook at the critics who tell her that serious music should no longer be melodic by resolving a traffic jam into four Viennese waltzes.
In Italian, 'O Mio Babbino Caro' means 'O My Dear Daddy.' 😊 And Britt, I noticed that you keep mentioning your lack of knowledge where Opera is concerned. Don't worry so much about that. What's goid is good. You are doing great! Just tell us how you really feel from your heart. You do that and I'll keep watching. Amira is a godsend. Keep going Britt!
Great reaction. She is still singing today. She and many others have sang with the Andre Rieu orchestra early in their careers. He has played all over the world and is known for having the best of everything. You might consider checking out his version of the Hallelujah Chorus as well as many other songs. You might like his concert at Radio City Music Hall. Thanks again for you reactions.
You really, REALLY, need to watch Sissel sing that song. Sure, Amira can make the sounds, but Sissel will bring you to tears. th-cam.com/video/A1YKBrUqwIU/w-d-xo.html
Amazing! Just started listening to some of Amira's music. I am also in shock!
That was brilliant! Just so beautiful!!
Amira is a phenomenon is amazing she is a gift from God she's an angel thanks my God for Amira
This is GREAT a GOD given talent,,,,all of her singing was after watching TH-cam tutorials,, just totally AMAZING ..I've seen her most recent videos=all excellent ,,,,,,,,, BLESS HER

the first showing of an Angel
Nice reaction. Amira is always outstanding

I suggest you watch her first audition on Holland's Got Talent at this same age. Be sure to set the English caption, watch the judges questions and comments after she sings. Agreed! That first performance on Holland's Got Talent was absolutely amazing. It's worth a watch.
Actually 10.
Side note ... she has gotten even better !
So blessed to be raised with music like this. Extremely blessed
Amira performs miracles in every performance. Keep bringing her to us.
She won the talent show in Holland in 2013 and is a big deal in Europe and she heard opera on the radio and sang along and never had singing lessons, I still replay it sometimes on utube , Holland has talent I think she was 9 then.
his stage is huge with a ball room upstairs and ice rinks on either side..............with dancers
Angels exist !!!!

Great enthousiaste reaction as always
You know you've nailed it when the choir and the orchestra stand and applaud you! :)
Good song good reaction
Wonderful reaction Britt. Amira appears to be a prodigy. This is a real treat to listen to. Thanks for sharing.👏🏻🇨🇦💕

Yep, watch the audition
She learned that from watching TH-cam. She now lives in South Africa, you should really checkout her version of Little Drummer Boy with the Mzansi Youth Choir.
Welcome to Amira.
Schauen Sie alle Lieder von Amira. Sie steigert sich von Lied zu Lied. Unglaublich. Viel Spaß 🙋
I was at that concert and she was truly amazing!
I'm jealous! :)
You so lucky

I must agree. Some of the best music in the world. I love him doing Mambo #5 with Lou Bega. Some dancing going on there don't ya know.

Angenlina has jazz in her soul while Amira has opera. You can see how they both really feel it.
She taught herself to sing opera by watching video's on TH-cam! Believe it!! She is fantastic!

YES BUT WHY ARE WE SHOUTING? 😂
Simplesmente fantástica minha princesa Amira❤

There is a video of Jackie wishing Amira well for the HGT performances.
charllott church was another that got started very young, they call her voice of an angel to look her up
You see our holland got talent to love❤
I went to an Andre Rieu concert years ago and it was incredible. So moving and entertaining. Really an amazing experience. You should check out Somewhere Over the Rainbow. It’s a fun rendition. Or Mambo #5 (yep, that happened). Andre Rieu creates really incredible experiences.
Hi. About your reaction as for how all the people are dressed, it should be remembered that Uroupe is not like USA. Especially in these type of concerts. If you will react to other concerts of her, you will see how she was dressed too.
Thsnks for your reaction.
Hertz Israel
Love your faces!
BTW André Rieu is world famous
AMIRA WILLIGHAGEN~ LIVE IN CONCERT~ NELLA FANTASIA, she's in a blue-lilac long dress.
This is the best video, it's even better than this, I think she was 12 years old.
You'll be more amazed
Love your reactions 😊
Amira's parents did the opposite to your suggestion. They made sure she stayed in school and had as normal a childhood as possible while still encouraging her musical development. She was awarded a 3-year contract with Sony which resulted in 2 CDs, but she remained in school and gradated high school in December 2022 as valedictorian.
Check out her performance of “Once Upon A Time in the West” her ability as the Dutch Soprano and high astonishing notes is astonishing
Up to that point she had no singing lessons, she learned to sing by watching TH-cam
videos..Andre Rieu coached her a bit before these performances for 10,000 people.
BTW Rieu spends a fortune on dresses and stage decoration, for their Australia
concerts the company flew over four 747s ..
André Rieu & Mirusia - Ave Maria This is a must u will love this video
Watch her audition video for a talent show .Of course, she won
If I remember her story correctly it was her brother that was the great singer than she said I can do that
and started singing.
It was her brother and mom play violin. Dad keyboards. She was 7 and wanted to do something. She decided she wanted to sing. She practiced watching You Tube. It is said on her Moms side a late Grandfather sung Opera
André Rieu orchestra, cool
BTW: the male musicians were in white tie, so they were wearing tailcoats, not tuxedos.
she is self taught
She is self taught ... she learned from listening to you tube arias.....
Got her mouth from Maria Callas.
andre rieu has amazing stuff on youtube, he is very careful that everything looks right, please give it a look
This is a young woman singing to her father, begging him to allow her to marry her true love. "My Dear Daddy' "Mio Babbino Caro"
You should listen to Charlotte Church The Last Rose of Summer.
She sings Crazy Chick better.
One of my daughter's best friends was in a university opera program, and sang this at my daughter's wedding. It was the processional, so she sang as my husband walked my daughter down the aisle. The story of the song is about a girl asking her father to take her to her true love. There was not a dry eye in the church.
And if you don’t I’ll go drown myself in the Arno River. From a Puccini comic opera with a Romeo and Juliet story.
I'm guessing this was the first show. The video from the other concentrated on showing members of the audience crying throughout.
TH-cam taught ❤
This was fine, but you missed a number of background details contained in her audition on Holland's Got Talent in 2013. Here is the link. th-cam.com/video/qDqTBlKU4CE/w-d-xo.html So you don't miss it, she learned to sing Opera and this song JUST by watching TH-cam videos. Her optional dream is to be an Olympic athlete! 🎶🎶👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤ She was 9 in the audition.
FYI ... no one has ever seen anyone sing like that at that age !
Actually, she had just turned 10 for this performance. Up to this time she had no professional training.
Look at ladies of soul holland glennis gace very nice please❤❤
im guessing he has somone off stage checking them before they walk on to be sure they look right
Great reaction.
She wasn't technically trained - she learnt how to sing off you tube.
The only professional training she had at the time was one workshop with the conductor of this orchestra.
You really, REALLY, need to watch Sissel sing that song. Sure, Amira can make the sounds, but Sissel will bring you to tears.
th-cam.com/video/A1YKBrUqwIU/w-d-xo.html
I recommend you watch some Andre Riue videos on yt
