On Android you can disable GPS to get slightly better connection during battles. Playing next to a 1GB router and the frame drops are horrendous though... not acceptable
I was wondering the same thing if Pokemon go battle league is just really that screwed up because even when I have a perfect connection I'm right beside a router I turn literally everything off and I still just get massive frame drops and laggs
@18:13 As someone that got rank 2 Lickitung last season, and deleted multiple good-to OK when evolved to lickilicky because it was inferior, this pleases me. Still need more XL for it though
I have a feeling players have found a way to cause lag issues. I was in pretty good situations a couple times this weekend and luckily I was able to overcome it, but it was way closer then it should be. Seems when winning normally isnt available, players try and lag you out.
I’m guessing you’re Android Dan? I am Apple and i don’t get nearly as bad of lag. Still definitely get some and some games I just completely lag out. Feel a bit of your pain though!
My team is only weak to steel and fire ... purposely constructed that way ... The amount of Skarmory & Talon Flames i saw last night was insane. Double nerfed Skarm and I seen it at least 8 times in 5 sets
Triple normal is lowkey probably decently viable considering the extreme lack of Fighters in comparison to previous seasons and a majority of the best Normal-types having decent or outright winning matchups against the common Ghosts. Oh also Steels are less common too.
Are you on an older phone/version of android Dan? My old phone was running Android 10 and was virtually unusable for GBL due to the game sputtering and messing up my timing. Recently upgraded to a Galaxy S24, and I wouldn't say it plays perfectly, but it really is a whole different experience.
It appears to be more of a hardware issue, not connectivity. Android phones, regardless of how new it is, get unusually hot when running pokemon go and that's the main cause for the frame drops and lags. Would love to see someone with technical knowledge break this down
Ahhhhh. No wonder…. I was playing on my android and kept frame dropping and it was pretty hot. I lost matches due to the lag. Then I played on my iPhone and no lag. I thought it was the WiFi
The timing is amazing. It's like Android phones want you to lose the matches when you have the advantage, and then run perfect when you are completely walled and RPS'd
@@SkilletToast when i say hardware issue I meant how the app is built to tap into the hardware. if it is poorly built then it doesn't utilise the hardware properly. the android version of the app is just poorly coded to tap into android hardware efficiently, resulting in overheating and performance issues.
Hey Dan, sorry you are having a rough time with lag and frame drops. Oddly enough my game seems to be running pretty smoothly on my iPhone 13 so it must be an android thing unfortunately
I can't make malamar work at all. I've been running it for three/four days and haven't had a single positive set the entire run. Doesn't help that I haven't run into anything that superpower threatens whatsoever. It does so badly in neutral matchups like against a talonflame it just feels like dead weight.
It is pretty funny in a fucked up way that Niantic is actually incentivized to not release updates that are TOO hype, otherwise their game will just straight up not work properly until more people stop playing 😂
You sometimes get free raid passes if you complain in the settings chat about lagging and losing in GBL. All you do is answer their questions and upload the battle log.
What phone are you using? I play on a pretty old iphone and have almost no problems at all. I lost one battle so far this season because the game crashed right before it started, but frame drops and such just dont happen for me at all.
The “I already make enough mistakes on my own” [we don’t need Niantic’s help loosing because of the poor state of the game] hit so close to home. Why I try not to care as much and I watch more battling than playing once I get in the high ELO range… why be in a shit mood after playing. It’s even worse when you use this time to play as a method of relaxing. I have to be a Dad, rather not be in a bad mood.
Those frame drops/lag has cost me almost every game. I figure its because im using Android. Its frustrating when i barely get to my first charge move, and they are on their second almost
My favorite is when they throw a charge move and it loads up never showing the shield or impact and you're immediately thrown right back into combat 😂😂
I've been running Malamar and it's been dog shit. Has nice 1v1 matchups in even energy/shields but in practice it doesn't set you up for success I'm finding.
Can you do another series. How are need feels on old Pokemon Homeslice and jonkus released video on fury cutter shadow glogar. Probably psycho cut medi is in the waiting

I have noticed I lg during KEY moments. It's weird af
i’ve won so many matchups by banking a lunge or two and then hitting whatever comes in with them. flips matchups so good

Always making my commute a little more entertaining! Two videos a day is great.
I've been getting the crazy lags as well... oh and I faced a triple normal type team when I had a ghost lol

@@Forged4War206 wouldn't know it by the amount of Skarmory I've been seeing
@12:10 this new bug and the frame drops has made it impossible to enjoy the new season. The game is unplayable on Android
of course the fun got to be taken away by lag..legit cost me 8 games today, its literally unplayable atm

i have never had a single frame drop on my iphone 13. I get very rare connectivity issues too.

Except the game worked fine on Android the week of the world championship tournament. If it were a hardware issue, this wouldn't be the case.

I make enough mistakes on my own, I don't need Niantics incompetence to help me lose. Yep yep 💯
Thanks
Ariados is my favorite Pokemon, I always use it until I reach rank 20 for fun

That word is Modifiers. Ari has two guaranteed stat mods.
secondary effects, the word is effects.

Was happily running malamar/gastrodon/wigglytuff and Aradios wrecked me, having play against my whole line means no safe swap 🙃

it's only for android users. doesn't matter whether it's old or new phone, the game just isn't optimised for android.

Aw, I quite like the Ariados spam
we need shadow ariados to make the mon work
Has anyone experienced NO LAG?
No
Ariados is hot garbage. Already had one built for when I ran my meme spider team.
Save your stardust
im bored of people complaining about lag, just have good wifi and play on iphone not android
Lickilicky is so good with solar beam
