@GTAWildestPolicechases It was a very typical 80s action movie. Nothing unusual or surprising. Despite that this track is just a part of soundtrack which doesn't even have lyrics whenever someone mentions Commando this is the track that immediately comes to mind.
Great action score by the late and great James horner. This is one of his most exceptional scores, previous he was none mostly for his lush, romantic and action scores such as his 2 Star trek scores and his knockout Krull score(which is by far my favorite score by him) There was no lushness and romance in his Commando score which is a straight forward all action and aggressive score just like his 48hrs score previous. Which both are real similar in style. James had so many hit scores and im so thankful to have been left behind such great and memorable work by him. Commando commands one of his most explosive scores and to have this marvelous soundtrack in my James horner CD collection is a real genuine honor!
I like the steel drums, always makes me laugh when i hear it. Got that Florida feel about it.. not that i'm from there, or an american, but it just got that heat about it
The fact that they casted Rae Dawn Chong as opposed to other huge upcoming stars like Sharon Stone, Kathleen Turner, Brigitte Nielsen, Michelle Pfeiffer, Meg Ryan, Heather Locklear or Goldie Hawn made this movie's "good guy" couple the best it could have been. Plus Rae was hot in this movie.
