"I wanted to cover one song from my other 2 main projects - Scandroid and Circle of Dust. This is the song from the Scandroid album I felt would be the best fit for Offworld." - Klayton (Celldweller)
Offworld, Celldweller's fourth vocal-based studio album departs from the project's signature sound of aggressive guitars, blasting beats and ass-kicking intensity and delivers a journey of sentimental feels and emotionally gripping tracks, showcasing the intimate song-writing side of project mastermind, Klayton.
The album's 11 tracks range from the soul searching "How Little I Must Know," to the modern shoegazer "Echoes," the somber a cappella "Mother's Arms," to the acoustic guitar driven "The Great Divide," and the heavy, yet atmospheric vibe of "Last Night on Earth." The album begins and ends with the title track & reprise of "Offworld," which gives the album a narrative backdrop as a sci-fi adventure of leaving the world behind - perhaps to explore a new one or join life on the other side, closing the album experience with a familiar Celldweller lyric... "we will never die." The digital/CD version of the album include a bonus remix by Ulrich Schnauss (Tangerine Dream).

I feel like Eden would've fit better on Offworld, since it's about leaving a broken and cruel world in search for a better place to live. But Awakening With You is still one of my favorite Scandroid songs, so I really can't complain. It's great to hear songs from the other projects reimagined in a different style! ^_^

Offworld is in my opinion a very underrated damn good album.
A lot of it is hit or miss to me. They're either perfect or eh

If I made a movie based on Karel Čapek's R.U.R. I'd use this as a credits soundtrack. Its so beautiful.
Comparing the two, Scandroid vs Celldweller, I find the latter to be a more suitable tone for the lyrics and theme. Contemplative and musing, but also feeling and yearning.
The latter is still splendid, and I certainly appreciate its greater length, but I think I prefer this version.
